Sungjongie....

Infinite - Man In Love @ YHY Sketchbook 130330

WARNING: RANT.

So recently, I've been into Infinite since just awhile before their comeback, and I've been following their comeback performances and etc. for Man In Love. I just came across this particular performance at YHY Sketchbook. If you watch the video embedded, you can see that MR was not used for this performance, and it was just the live band playing... So at the start during Sungjong's lines, he sounded rather breathless and couldn't really sing his lines properly. The moment I heard it, I paused the video and went to look at the comments, thinking what people will say about it. But I was shocked because I can't say I have expected it. (Yes, Sungjong is my bias in Infinite.)

The comments are all in Korean, but the most part are just people bashing on Sungjong and Sungyeol's singing, telling them that they need to practice. I guess I can still accept to this extent, because it is true that Sungjong didn't sound stable (I thought Sungyeol sounded fine though, maybe just a tad shaky). But there were people calling them things like "gay-dols", "even I can sing better than Sungjong" and saying that since he has received training and received money, why couldn't he do a good job. Wow, I am just.... how can people, fans(?) be so vicious in their words?

I am so sick of people saying all the time that Sungjong and Sungyeol are useless or unnecessary additions to the group. Yup, Inspirits definitely all know the group was originally a 5-people group with the exeption of Sungjong and Sungyeol. But I am just SO tired of people hating on them, especially on Sungjong. I only say so because I see mostly Sungyeol stans, and less Sungjong fans. I might be a bit biased because well, I like Sungjong. But I will give it to you that he doesn't sing that well when Infinite has voices like Sunggyu and Woohyun. Heck, even the rappers Dongwoo and Hoya sing so freaken well that it is easy to overshadow the two of them.

But I just don't know man, is it really necessary for people to use such harsh words, especially when it is all in Korean which who knows if they might read. Oh no, come on, do these fans(?) think they themselves are unaware of their own inadequacies?! Do they really need all the constant reminders slapping them in the face? See how Sungyeol started breaking down the moment he said "I know I have many inadequacies" during Infinite's concert.

I don't know what the hell I am rambling about but my heart freaking hurts for them. Okay.

I respect all these idols. They've gone through so much tough training and sacrificing parts of their lives at such a young age, when they could have been free to do anything else they wanted. I know they chose this way, but the fact that they pulled through, debuted, survived for these years being relatively popular, doesn't that earn some respect? I also know that all the points I have stated just means that they should be even better in their singing and make no mistakes, but like I said, I admit that Sungjong doesn't sing as well as the others, it's just that there is no need to use such harsh and rude words. I think that he does try hard though, I definitely think Sungjong is someone who tries his best.

Anyway I just needed somewhere to rant this because I don't have someone to talk to bout this. And just for the record, I ing love Sungjong's voice okay, even if it sounds weaker than the rest. I think some of his parts in their songs are my favourites because his voice is rather fresh. Then again, I may be biased but I don't care.

K bye.
