That's why her co-workers are often surprised to see her off-work. They have to take a second look to make sure she really is one of those workers there at the flying company who look like a Xerox copy of every other employees in the same grey clothes. Her wardrobe is an explosion of colors; she doesn't like staying in dull monochrome shades. She lives by the line, 'If you don't have it, fake it. If you do, flaunt it.' She likes wearing short shorts - high waist, floral prints, denim, chiffon and more with loose tops, be it feminine or casual. She also likes wearing skirts, dresses are occasional. But she doesn't prefer wearing long jeans that much as it tends to stick to her skin. If she does so, then she pairs it with cropped t-shirts.

personality: An introvert and reserved, Yong Soah is as average as any other girl can get. She likes keeping a low-profile; hence she doesn't do anything drastic of sorts that will attract attention to her. She's always on a neutral ground choosing to be a spectator rather than take sides. She's the type to smile faintly and be polite to her peers yet at the same time careful enough to not get too attached to them. She's not a social person and no matter how much she tries she just cannot be. Many people who know her from her profile take her for a gentle sweetheart as she's always trying her best to be polite to the customers and her fellow peers while the rest of her co-workers want to pull their hair by the end of the day. Well get on her wrong side, she'll clear that misconception right away. Boy, can she hold a grudge.

Behind her withdrawn demeanor she's so much more. She's a lazy slouch off work, has a volatile temper, is pessimistic in nature and becomes quite stubborn when things don't go her way. She doesn't open up because she doesn't want to. When she does she's a non-stop chatterbox. Blunt and straight forward, she easily pinpoints out mistakes without feeling as if she's being rude. People always take her for a withdrawn girl so they are caught offguard when she makes a sharp statement. She's someone who hates losing and so will give it her all to not fall to such fate. Independent and self-sufficient, Soah doesn't like accepting help from others because she's hates incurring debts and is actually more afraid of what they might ask for in return. She hates the label 'damsel-in-distress' more than anything and despises crying in front of others.

Despite her agressive tendencies, Soah can sometimes come off as a bit wacky. Whenever she has the time, her head's always up in the clouds with a far-away look on her face. She's often giving deep attention to mundane things in life no one bothers paying attention to. She thinks thoughts like how the sun was colder yesterday than it was today or if she could eat clouds, what would they taste like. This is one of her traits that have people inching a bit further away from her. She knows she's alright up in the head but some people can't take an extra dose of imagination (as she puts it), hence she never reveals this side of her to them. It's hard to get her to open up. She doesn't like letting the whole world know what she feels on the inside because she takes it as a sign of weakness, if she were to show her emotions clearly, she'd feel raw, to the core, vulnerable without her heavily guarded armor of nonchalance.

She's someone who's ruder to people close to her than to a stranger. She knows that that person will understand it as her way of expressing her feelings. That she feels comfortable letting them see that side of her, that she takes her time to note the smallest thing about them and tell them about it as she is a bit awkward when it comes to showing her affection [her father being an exception]. Being polite to a complete stranger is a policy, a good manner. A sign that she'll never let her guard down in front of them.

Organized and detail-oriented, Soah is a very responsible person. She knows what it means to be heavily relied on and cannot stand it when some people just shirk off their responsibilities and because of that one individual a whole mountain comes toppling down. To put it simply, she hates Kris. Not exactly hate but a strong burning passion of dislike which isn't going to burn out any sooner unless he cleans up his acts, which is like... never.

background: Born in Korea, raised in Japan till 10 years of age, Soah knows Japan like the back of her hand but can't say the same for Korea. Consisting of a family of two, her father and just her, Soah doesn't have a mother. Her mother died while giving birth to her; hence she never got to know her mother. She only knows her through family albums and what her father tells her. Despite being a young widow, her father raised her all by himself not marrying a second wife, not because he was afraid of what it would do to her daughter but because he only loved his late wife and no one else. After Soah turned 10, her father was asked to transfer to the States because of his work. Rather than leaving Soah behind with her grandparents he took her with him, even though it meant having to adapt to a completely new surrounding which would mean a lot to a young girl but Soah just happily complied.

She lived in Los Angeles, US for the next 10 years till she became 20. Having to grow up in such an environment took away whatever amount of patience she had left from her peaceful living in Japan. Maybe that's one of the reasons why she won't take crap from anyone, but she dare not do it during her work hours because that's what pays for her food. Finally when she turned 20, her father decided it was time they went back to Korea and that's why she has her only two years of staying in Korea to blame for her misspelled words.

Soah comes from a well-off background. Not exactly rich but not middle-class either, somewhere in between, leaning a bit to the former. Her father loves her very much as they only have each other to turn to. Despite having a warm aura, he was strict in her ways of upbringing. Being in Japan only further strengthened his lessons. It was a country that valued utmost etiquettes before anything else and so she grew up to be a respectful individual. Hence she cannot stand it when people smaller than her age go around calling elder people names and showing off their insolent attitude.

lifestyle: One year after her stay in Korea, she moved to an apartment choosing to grow independent rather than lean on what her father had already earned. The apartment is a bit more on the classy side hence she shares it with Kwon Jiyong, their combined salaries is enough to comfortably afford it rather than burn a hole in one's pocket when it comes from only one of them. Soah works as an intern at a boutique called 'Beauty & Me' where coincidentally Jiyong happens to be the son of the woman who runs it. Because of this there are often rumors about how she landed an internship there because of her close relationship with Jiyong, sometimes making it difficult for her work there. Jiyong on the other hand tells her to not give a about them because they're pathetic losers who can't handle seeing someone's success. That's always more than enough to make her smile.

They have their work divided on who does what and take turns in doing so - so that one can work efficiently in the absence of other. Often times, they arrive together at work, leaving many of their co-workers to speculate if there's something going on between them, to which Soah just smiles and brushes it off saying that they live in the same building, cause if she told them that it was an apartment they shared, the gossip would be unbearable. Her apartment is 15 minutes away from her work place - the airport. And she visits her father once or twice a month who doesn't forget to pamper her because his daughter was, is and will always be a little girl to him. Her father knows she shares her apartment with a guy but he also knows that he's raised his daughter well enough to believe that there can exist a plain platonic friendship between a guy and girl too. He's met Jiyong a few times too and from what he knows of him, he appreciates it that he is friend is protective of her, someone who fills on his shoes when he's not around.

Kwon Jiyong | 26 | Flight attendant | blunt, dogmatic, tsundere, leader-like, skeptic | The first person who befriended her when she came to Korea. Of course, knowing his unapproachable aura it was more like, the first one who took notice of her, rather than coming to up to her and saying 'Hi, let's be friends.' Knowing that Soah's a bit new to this environment, he's easily protective of her. Also he's always doubtful of the person she associates with cause knowing her she's more likely to sit through their lame jokes rather than build up the courage to fish out a lie. She'd call him her friend but then he'd go all out cute on her and make her go through his life-scarring aegyo until she called him best friend. They're really comfortable around each other to the point that Soah could be wearing just a loose t-shirt and her undergarments and sitting next to him on a couch and the TV will still have his rapt attention.

Jang Dongwoo | 25 | Ground Attendant | happy-go-lucky, sweet-natured, simplistic, magnanimous, lenient | The first person Soah befriended after she came to Korea. Despite being older than her, he's someone so sweet-natured, it makes Soah painfully realize her politeness is nothing compared to his natural adorableness. Because he's someone who'll let others fool him so as not to inconvenience them, it's Soah who is always on the lookout for him, trying to save him from a trap before he falls into it. If one can say something for Jiyong's protectiveness concerning her, then you'll be speechless to Soah's over-protectiveness when it comes to Dongwoo. Despite those short bouts of jealousy Jiyong sometimes feels he doesn't care much because seeing as it's Dongwoo we're talking about, he's pretty sure the guy doesn't even know the reason the opposite were created for other than over-populating the Earth.

how did she get into this occupation: Her job as a ground attendant is in fact a part-time one. She actually wants to be a fashion designer and currently this part-time job is paying for her living. When she was really small, she adored the stewardess, their beauty, their height, their attitude and then she saw movies - movies of airplane being high jacked, crashing into a sea, remote island, plunging underwater deep and enough to scare off the idea of wanting to go anywhere near a plane. It was goodbye air hostess. As she later on grew up, she wasn't so scared anymore, finding it funny how her childhood memories had scarred her.

When she saw the ad for vacancy, she was not immediately attracted to it. She earned enough from her internship to satisfy her basic needs and a few additional needs but that was it. However she thought an extra pocket change would help her funding in trying out different experiments which she badly needed to do so in order to further strengthen her creativity. That's why she took it. Even if there were spaces for flight attendant, she chose the ground one. She wasn't taking any chances no matter what. No matter how much she wants to fly all over the world, she still prizes her life above everything else.

does she like her job, and does she like working in the airport: It's not a complete yes but not a complete no either. It's a between. It's a new experience and she'll admit that it's sometimes fun seeing different people from all over the world come and go through this portal and also it's a good kick seeing fan girls make a fool out of themselves and those Exo boys running for their lives. It's superb when she gets her wages but then there are times where she has to deal with idiotic customers and she'll be mentally berating herself why she chose this job in the first place. Nonetheless at the end of the day, fact comes down to it, that she's starting to like this part-time job of hers.

what would you do if you had to find a child that was lost in the airport?: 'You idiot, there's a reason why we say keep your valuable possessions with you and don't lose sight of your children cause we won't be responsible for your loss!' Pushing that thought back to the far recess of my mind, I'd ask the parent to calm down and ask them what their child looks like and where they last saw them. Then I'd go to the CCTV room and ask the workers there to check the areas the parent mentioned and pass along the information to the announcement room asking if anyone has seen a child fitting of such descriptions and if yes, then to please bring them to the nearest help desk.

what would you do if someone's plane was about to leave and they were still on the other side of the airport?: 'My hands are tied.' Oh don't I love this word. However, it comes down to being professional. I'd have to ask the customer whose fault it was that they missed it in the first place. If it was a fault from our side, then I'd have to make sure the customer gets on that plane anyhow. I'd pass along a message for the plane to slow down and then inform the other airport where that plane is to land that the plane will be late by a few minutes and in the process hauling the customers in.

if you were on break and you saw someone needing help, would you help them?: Despite my sadistic tendencies, fact comes down to it that if I can provide my help, I end up doing it. Curse my tender heart. So obviously I'd end up helping the customer. I better gain karma points for doing this.

how do you deal with the stress of dealing with hundreds of planes everyday?: At the end of the day, there nothing more good that being able to kick off these high heeled shoes and plopping down on my bed in my loose clothes. Of course taking a nice long bath helps too. Then I proceed to watching my favorite animes or new dramas I've just bought and crying my eyes over it. It's a good stress reliever.

what would you say if, for example, Kris were to be snarky and rude to you over the radio? would you be polite about it, or would you be sarcastic to him?: People know me for my soft personality. They also know that I dislike Kris but they can't figure it out why even though his lazy behavior says it all. So it's no surprise to them that I can be a bit sarcastic to him when he shows his snarky attitude.

I'd say 'Listen here, papa's boy. Unlike you I stay here in my seat the whole day dealing with more than 50 planes telling them where they need to move and how they need to move. So shut your yap up before I give you a one way ticket to hell. And trust me when I say I'm going to put the blame all the blame of the airplane crash on you. And you know it when I say I can do it.'

does being as smart as you come with disadvantages (or are you not smart at all and just somehow making it as an ATC)?: I won't call myself smart. I just happen to learn quickly. Sure it's fun to be breezing past homework and exams easily but then there are people who like to call others like me 'smarty-pants' just so they can feel better about themselves. There were also times during my high school years where if I was put in a project work in a group, all the work responsibilities would easily fall to me and my group mates wouldn't even care. They'd think I'd just do it and that way they can take the credit without having to do any work at all. So yeah sometimes it could be a bit frustruating too.

 

who's the pilot you like the most, and/or who you are the most friendly with?: Isn't it obvious? Do Kyungsoo. I mean he's such a sweetheart. He's so polite unlike the other guys. He's always courteous with all of us and bakes cookies and he's even kind enough to share it. Yeah, I don't get to eat it that much, that's a whole different story. Before he can make it by my lane, almost all the other female ground attendants will have mauled him, greedily grabbing away handfuls so yeah I'm always left with a few crushed pieces of cookies but that's okay since it's the thought that counts and he smiles apologetically.

Kim Joonmyun aka Suho follows him closely in my list. He's such a gentleman and works to please others and I hate it that others take advantage of him and yeah he lets it be. I've only had a few encounters and that's more than enough for me to have developed a very good impression of him along with the other things I hear about him from my co-workers. Since he insists on being called Suho, I think I'm only one of the few who calls him that. It's the least I can do for his well-bred personality.

who do you like the least?: It's Wu Yifan[that pisses him off, teehee]. Being the CEO's son, instead of being a role model, someone who should be looked up to as the perfect poster-boy for Exo Airlines, he makes it his job to leave a frown on my face whenever I have to see his! His lazy attitude will get him in a pinch someday, I swear.

Next to him are the 3 musketeers. I call them a set cause they I don't think I can rank who's more annoying than the other. They are the troublemaker-duo, Kim Jongin and Oh Sehun, topped off with Huang Zitao! I dislike Jongin because he thinks he can get away with anything using his position as a pilot [that's a misuse of his status], I dislike Sehun because of his so-called aegyo to make others do his work [Yeah he looks cute. So what? What's the big deal anyway?]. I wouldn't call Tao annoying but the way he's so loyal to Kris somehow rubs me off the wrong way. The way he jumps to his feet whenever Kris asks him to do something when clearly he can do it himself but is just so lazy makes me think of him as a watchdog.

love interest: Zhang Yixing

personality traits: He's someone who's very passive and needs a lot of motivation to keep going. He easily feels tired and is very lethargic. He's quite forgetful, one second he's telling himself he needs to go to meet Luhan, the very next second he's thinking what was he about to do. This forgetful habit of his often lands him in trouble as sometimes there are important things he doesn't remember to do or information to pass along. But seeing his charming face, almost all the flight attendants are ready to take the blame. He's easygoing and this makes it hard to keep one's guard around him. He's someone who makes people around him feel comfortable and seeing his observant nature, he easily picks out things others would have trouble noticing. No wonder he remembers all the juiciest gossips even if he forgets to accomplish his own work in the process.

relationship: They behave like perfectly well-bred civilized people around each other. Well, Soah tries to. Yixing is always off to la-la-la land and because of this habit of his, he sometimes forgets to pass along crucial information which has often landed Soah and her fellow peers in trouble. While her co-workers are more than happy to take his blame upon themselves [they even have a routine of who's turn is up next], Soah's not. It takes all her willpower to not turn into a ugly green monster and rip apart his head. Yixing never understands why Soah's always so brusque and cold with him while she has no problems smiling at Kyungsoo or laughing at Suho's lame jokes. He accepts that he might have made mistakes but who doesn't? [Actually, let's talk about the gravity of your slip-ups and the number of times you've done it] Maybe it's because she's the first one who's turned away when he's around the corner, so he finds her different. He tries to make her to like him just like the other girls. Because of this Yixing tries harder to remember his works well, even going so far as to use sticky reminder notes. Over time Soah starts to appreciate his efforts, learning to forgive him for some of his errors and when possible reminding of his day-to-day duties.

backup love interest: Kim Jong Dae

personality traits: Witty and armed with a blithe tongue, Kim Jong Dae is someone you should never cross if you want to spend the rest of your life in peace. He's a mischevious prankster who doesn't give a squat about what others think as long as he gets the desired reaction from his audience or gets a good kick by landing them in trouble. His sense of humour can be sometimes defined as too cruel as he doesn't know when he's taken a joke too far. And why would he? Since all the guys and ladies laugh at his so-called awesome sense of humour and none have ever bothered to point out his fault. Insensitive, he often hurts a person's feeling with his jokes. But no one can deny he's got the voice of an angel. If he can use his pranks to hurt someone, he can use them to make people laugh too. He's a fun-loving guy and can be sincere when he wants to too.   It might not be evident but he's someone who's willing to walk an extra mile if that's what it takes for his loved ones to smile a genuine smile.

relationship: Soah wants nothing to do with him and hopes that she remains as invisible as air to him. After all, who hasn't heard about what happened to that security from Block B who accidentally splashed coffee on him or about that training flight attendant who bluffed to her friends that she had Kim freaking Jong Dae tied around her little finger. It seems it doesn't matter to him what the gender of his victim's is as long as he gets to pay them back hundred-and-one percent. And if that wasn't worse, he happens to randomly pick out people to have fun with no matter their innocent history with him. While ladies fawn over him and laugh in high-pitched giggles at his rude jokes, Soah can only scrunch her eyebrows and tsk at him. When one prank goes awry and results in a wet Soah and the mother-of-troubles combined, Soah punches him to the outer space and the next much to the horror of the viewers. A person can only take so much. After that, it's safe to say Soah's always on the look-out whenever Jong Dae passes by her, after all it's Jong Dae we're talking about. If Jong Dae didn't know who Yong Soah was before now he knows the number of hours she works at the airlines, the food she orders, the color case of her cell, even the name of her child-hood puppy. When he thinks pranking her will get her to shut the hell up, his plan only ends up backfiring at him. He strikes once, she strikes back harder. When he confronts her and asks her why she doesn't like him, she starts listing off his traits telling him she could write a book on it. Since then Jong Dae doesn't know why but he starts to make an effort whenever Soah's nearby. Soah'd be lying if she said she didn't see the way Jong Dae straightened up whenever she's in the vicinity or crack a funny joke to make others laugh to let her know who was the source of it. As time passes and they get to know each other Soah realises she may have been a bit harsh about his character, he just needs someone to pull his reins before he runs wild.

scene suggestions:

`Jiyong tells her a really funny joke and so she can't help but laugh like a mad person, Jiyong joining her in the process. Jongdae happens to see that and thinks Soah has a beautiful smile but feels a little annoyed seeing that it's with some other guy she's laughing so freely not him.

`Soah is tired and thinks about resting for a while in one of the storage rooms but ends up falling asleep. Jongdae happens to find her accidentally since that's where he goes off to eat his secret stash of Kyungsoo's baked goods which he hides it from Minseok. Soah's leaning a bit to the right, afraid that she'll fall down he places her head on his shoulder. When Soah wakes up a good 20 minutes has passed and she's surprised to see Jongdae asleep, with her. Whe she realizes what he's done, she smiles and thinks to herself a few more minutes won't hurt and ends up leaning his head on her shoulder. Unbeknownst to her Jongdae smiles. [Ok, heavily inspired from La Corda D'Oro and drama, lol]

`Jongdae's passing by when he hears Jiyong ask Soah what she'd like for dinner. Puzzled later on he asks Soah if she's dating him to which Soah replies 'No' since it's not the first time someone mistook them for a couple. When he asks her about the dinner, Soah gets a bit red in the face but quickly covers up saying they're only eating out. No need to make a fuss.
