i am like /so pissed/.

so here's me, going through the tips tag, wanting to see some quality advices.

and when i clicked one of them, i became so pissed.

look at this.

"don't stray away from real-life characters!"

"for popular groups (EXO, Shinee), you better update daily!'

"the fictions with most subscribers usually have good grammar and an excellent plot."

and i swear, i practically choked on my own laughter.

IT'S QUALITY OVER QUANTITY, PEOPLE. YOU HAVE NO IDEA OF HOW I STUMBLED ACROSS WONDERFUL WRITERS THAT HAS ONLY LIKE WHAT, 10 SUBSCRIBERS. /coughs/ including me

i swear to god, if i read a psychotic-killer chanyeol story, i'm going to be intrigued. how are you going to characterize him? why is he like that? what's the reason behind?

and for the update daily, i'm mad. really. i write like what, approximately 2,500 words PER CHAPTER for aeternalis. YES, I KNOW MOST OF THE PEOPLE HERE DESPISE LONG CHAPTERS. but seriously, after like, 2 weeks of a story you really liked, and the author updated it with another satisfying long read that STILL makes you intrigued, not bored. for me, when i re-read my story, i got all giddy because of how it still makes me interested. and that's how i got my motivation.

and the subscribers part- just please, most of the popular fics includes kingka/queenka, predictable love triangles, etc. and the fact that makes a story even more worse is this equation;

cliche plotline + cliche characters = absolute disaster.

BUT

cliche plotline + intriguing characters + twist = definition of good writing.

don't forget angst. angst is good. if you're making a love triangle in, let's say, another girl, your OC, and your bias, make that other girl likeable. and then the OC will be puzzled. "she's fine with him. but i don't like her with him. i love him, she loves him, and he loves her. but why?"

and that conflict?

it's the bomb.

yes this rant is full of love don't try denying it and oh if you're asking what i'm doing in 5 am in the morning, i'm writing aeternalis. and oh if you're the author and you're reading this i'm sorry to say but you have your own opinion and i have my own opinion. you stated that clearly in your description so this is my opinion. sorry not sorry.

oh my ghaaad! someone who understands me!! i love you friend!!!
yeah, well, i actually stumble upon really great writers and i couldn't help but advertise about them because they have really great sense in everything and they only have like what, not even 50 subscribers and sometimes, i see stories that don't make sense at all getting featured.

oh yeah, i don't understand why some people hate long chapters either and how something happens from this to that without the proper explanations..i also hate it when someone suddenly comments for me to speed up my story when i'm following a story board-like format for the story to unfold in a way that it doesn't happen so abruptly and without preamble..

"don't stray away from real-life characters!"

what the hell is this? are you supposed to write a story based on the person's real characteristics..i mean, you're making up a story so why not let it go as far as what your imagination could conjure..

I FEEL YOU!!!! :)
