although not yet completely aged with granny sag-s and whatnot, gyuri has changed quite considerably in the last 10 years. most of these changes occured on the interior, though there were also a few changes to be noted on her exterior. she's able to keep fit and muscular by routinely dragging her to the gym and working out, but the fat is harder to keep off than before (and her metabolism isn't all too great now, either). gyuri is no longer a walking skeleton, and although still slim, is curvier than she was when she was still in her prime. she keeps the wrinkles near her cheeks and face hidden with layer after layer of makeup, and tries her hardest to keep herself looking young by taking trips to the spa and generally taking good care of her skin. she still looks young for her age, but gyuri knows that she'll soon loose her touch. after having her second child, she cut her long hair to a neat little bob so that it's easier to take care of her hair (and with less time needed to do her hair, she has more time to take care of the children). gyuri has yet to find any graying hairs, and often still takes a trip to the local salon and dyes her hair a auburn or brown color when in the mood.

do you know me? do you love me? --- to put it simply, gyuri is quite the diva. she makes drama everywhere, and can't live a day without it. perhaps watching all those dramas with her best friends had somehow pushed her to act as if every little small detail was important. but, no matter. she can be rather sassy and stubborn, and ever since she was a little girl she'd learned the art of throwing fits until the person you're annoying gets exasperated and then you get whatever you want. not following? well, it means that gyuri is a child in the body of a full-grown woman. her appearance has changed since her younger years, but her mindset has stayed the same the entire time. her attitude towards life often makes her friends laugh and love her,  but there are also times where it gets out of hand and her friends tell her to act mature and grow up. but come on now, what fun is that? speaking of fun, gyuri must have fun. fun, fun, fun, all the time. otherwise, she gets bored incredibly easily and starts picking at her fingernails or spacing out when having conversations. of course, she's gotten past the stage of drinking and partying wildly, but still loves to attend parties or go skydiving. along with this, gyuri can also be quite the seductress. how do you think she landed such a handsome and well-known husband, anyways? there were plenty of beautiful and y kpop idols out there for him to pick from, but instead he chose gyuri because she has some type of special aura that can enchant men. now, i'm not saying that she's an all-powerful goddess, but rather that she has a special allure.

mission unstoppable. --- on a side note, gyuri is also an unstoppable force capable of doing anything and everything with sheer force and a whole -ton of willpower. she's one to stand up straight and bark out orders instead of using aegyo to get what she wants. if gyuri ever has her eyes locked on something, beware. no matter what it takes and how long it takes to get it, gyuri will end up victorious in the end, with whatever she wants. she also has quite an oddball sense of humor, often throwing her body around for a brief moment of exaggerated or slapstick humor (the kids love it) or weaving a delicate riddle with her words for a more classy, punny sense of humor. she often pushed people around and teases them, picking at their shortages or laughing at their mistakes. gyuri's intentions are well and she only wants laughter and entertainment, but she often hurts others feelings in doing so. her friends are well aware that she doesn't mean to harm their feelings, but strangers and acquaintances aren't all too fond of this trait. she's a live-in-the-life type of person, and believes in living life to the absolute maximum, never missing out on anything. 

imaginationland --- in spite of having a realistic outlook on life, gyuri is quite the dreamer. her mind often wanders off to fairytales of imaginary lands and fantasies, even when she believes that you should think straight in order to be successful in life. you'll also often find her whistling to her current favorite tune, or daydreaming when she's supposed to be working. gyuri is also not the most committed person, and didn't know if marriage was the right choice for her. after all, she did get bored with men as easily as with toys, and also held quite a track history of -buddies. she decided though, that she would forget about her past and move on in a stable relationship with myungsoo.

as a wife --- in the myungsoo-gyuri marriage, guess who wears the pants? yep, that's right. gyuri does. always taking the lead, she's usually in charge of cooking, household chores, taking care of the children, choosing the schools, keeping an eye on the joint bank account, organizing family outings or parties, almost everything has to be accepted or looked-over by gyuri before it can be finalized. even in their romantic relationship, she tends to be the one leading myungsoo on, acting wild, or teasing him and taking the first actions. she tends to yell at him for little things and dramatize everything, but myungsoo is aware that this is just how she expresses her love for him (she's not a very straightforward person, twisting and turning, leading him in all types of directions before reaching the point). there have also been a couple of incidences where she got carried away with a good male friend or an infinite member, and they did more than they probably should've...but myungsoo'll never find out, right?

as a mother --- originally, gyuri had planned to be strict towards her children, and have zero tolerance for any disobedience or trouble caused by the kids. they were going to grow up well and become great, influential figures in society, and she'd let them pick their own paths. she'd expected parenting to be an easy hobby that was just a given for a marriage. well, she soon learned that it was hard to be mean to little babies with those big, deceiving eyes, no matter how much trouble they were causing or how much they whined and cried. she's incredibly soft towards her children and usually ends up caving into getting them whatever they want, if they don't ask for too much.

vintage/classy era : where has everyone's poise and class gone to? the 50's and 60's seemed like a great time to live, and also included a bunch of her favorite actresses; marilyn monroe, audrey hepburn, the works. the recurring vintage style often appears in gyuri's works and interior design. 

jewelry : like how many people collect bottle caps or stamps, gyuri collects jewelry. if she finds a piece that catches her eye, she'll buy it and then add it to her large collection. she's been collecting since age 5, and the collection consists of left-over ring-pops to overpriced tiffany necklaces and rolex watches. she doesn't leave the house without a piece on her person. 

david easton : she practically idolizes this grand master of interior design. he infuses 18th-century neoclassicism into his wildly-acclaimed works. gyuri most admires his modus operandi of using Algo-American elegance with rich woods and subtle yet pleasing patterns. 

singing : gyuri is especially fond of karaoke. if it wasn't for her love of music, she probably wouldn't have known about myungsoo in the first place.

"trashy hos" or "ratchet" people : with their yolo and swag, gyuri wants to go up to them and punch them square in the jaw. she doesn't see them often as she lives in a better-off area of seoul, but she knows that they still exist.

bubble gum : sticky and hard to get out of hair. she's had one too many experiences with her children putting gum inside another's hair.

tiger moms : while it's good to set your child on the right track, gyuri finds it quite annoying when parents overwork their children. she knows she shouldn't be meddling in the affairs of other families, but they make her feel like they're using their children instead of raising them.

getting sick : once a month, gyuri gets a strain of the common cold because she had a weak immune system to begin with, and mother nature's gift doesn't make it any better.

tardiness : gyuri believes that punctuality can tell you a lot about a person; whether they're lazy, procrastinators, efficient, or un-caring. but what she hates the most is when she schedules a lunch or a meeting with someone, and they show up long after the promised time.

ingrates : now, she hates people who take what they have for granted because she herself used to be one of these. she would party her off, get drunk and high off weed while her parents took responsibility for all the trouble she caused in her teen years. she always complained about not being able to travel around the world to exotic resort and how she wished she were born into an even better-off family than her own. now she realizes how stupid she was and dislikes people like her old self.

hobbies •

playing piano : as a child, she'd always hated being dragged by her mother to the piano teacher's house. it was like a weird form of torture, she used to think. but now that she looks back on it, she wishes she hadn't been such an ingrate and just cherished what she had. she doesn't have much time to play piano now, but she has found a good, understanding teacher for her children to take lessons from.  

photography/polaroids : like myungsoo, gyuri has a passion for photography. not only photography, but polaroids. they give off a different feel than digital photography. while with digital photography you get an glamourized high-definition photo, polaroids allow you to watch the memory appear as the photo develops. there may be a few mistakes here and there, but that's the beauty of imperfection. she's often taking snapshots of her family to add to her collection.

art : a lifelong hobby that she couldn't let go once she first picked up a pencil. there are just so many possibilities and scenes that can come out of your own imagination~

shop, shop, and shop : now, who doesn't like to shop every now and then? gyuri does shop a bit less to save up for the children to go to college (and to pay the mortgage!) but other than that, she does go out with friends and mothers from the daycare often to chat and shop.

experiencing life : skydiving, base jumping, helicopter driving, white water rafting. you name it, and gyuri's probably done it. she's always loved living on the wild side of life. it's quite obvious that she doesn't go on as many adventures as before, but she does go if she has enough free time.

reading : gyuri feels that so many people have abandoned books for the internet and television. of course, the internet and television are good things, but it's even better to curl back with a good mystery or romance novel every so often.

after his career in the limelight, myungsoo decided that he didn't like many aspects of the entertainment community. it was nice while it lasted, and other members of his group chose to continue on with their careers. however, myungsoo felt that it wasn't meant for him to continue on in the eye of the public. he also thought that creating his own company wouldn't be such a good idea, since he would probably neglect it as time passed (plus, it's so cliche). however, he was always jealous of those who worked backstage to produce the music--the people who made up the backbone of the entertainment industry. without them, everything would fall apart. and so, he decided that was what he wanted to do. he doesn't work in the spotlight, but rather behind the curtains as a producer and lyricist for many of the current new, popular, and young kpop groups. 

his personality •

cold prince myungsoo --- well-mannered and rather quiet, this former idol has always given off the image of a cold prince for his fans. on variety shows, he wasn't one to really talk or joke around, but ended up laughing the most. he can be quite awkward, depending on who he's with, where he's at, and what's going on at the moment. he appears like a bit of a spoiled brat, not talking to strangers and also not really contributing much during conversations. he's a reserved fellow who prefers to sit and ponder about life rather than going and experiencing it or voicing his feelings. 

can you see me now? can you feel me now? --- the princely facade was only an act that he had to keep up for his fans and his career. eventually, it became like a type of mask to hide behind so that he wouldn't have to show his true feelings to the public. now myungsoo here is the oddball. he's quite unpredictable and anything can happen when you're around this boyish ball of random. you thought gyuri was childish? well, here you have an even more extreme version of a baby adult. he's quite the stubborn fellow, and has quite the temper if he's upset or something ignites his anger.  myungsoo tends to hold unhealthy grudges and rivalries; he will get you back with revenge if you've done something to upset him instead of just simply forgiving you. he can be kind and caring, thinking about others before thinking about his own interests.

as a husband --- as a husband, myungsoo is rather laid back. he usually just watches as gyuri scuttles around doing everything, pitching in his own share of work every so often. (but usually, he's just holed up writing lyrics or composing a new song). at first, he didn't pay much attention to her when she was busy doing her job re-decorating. after a while of observing, however, he had made up in his mind that her quirky actions and words were intruiging. and when she dumped that can of paint on his co-worker (that he didn't really like), that was when he decided she was different from all those other girls who begged to go on dates with him. 

as a father --- myungsoo absolutely loves to play with the children. he tends to spoil them even more than gyuri does, and can't help but give them what they scream, cry, and beg for (how can you resist those stares?). if he ever lets his temper get to his head and yells or scolds the children harshly, he often promises them candies or an hour of just father-son bonding time because he feels bad for them. he's a kid himself, so sometimes it's hard for him to take care of the children (like changing diapers, but somebody's got to do the job) he often whines to his friends or his wife about how hard it is to take care of your own children, but he knows that he does it because he truly cares and loves them. 

how you met • 

only a few months after gyuri graduated from college, she'd landed her first real job. (their meeting is explained with more detail in the biography). when he first stopped her as she was leaving the building and invited her to the park, their relationship seemed a bit forced and fake (even though there was definitely some building up). after a few hours together in the park just talking about life and opinions, it had felt like only minutes had gone by, and the two of them started to open up towards each other and made promises to see each other just for a coffee or cake more often. it was from these meetings, or unofficial "dates" that developed their 4-year long secret relationship.

extras •

proposal --- myungsoo and gyuri had chosen to keep the relationship secret (gyuri didn't quite like the bright flashes of paparazzi snapping pictures or the reporters following her arround and the rabid fans.) and they were quite good at keeping it secret. the public never really found out, as they dated in obscure places or restaurants with dim lighting so nobody could recognize myungsoo. often times he had to wear a disguise or escape from his fans (if they found him and then proceeded to chase him down the street.) when the public found out, they were initially quite shocked because there had been no rumors or gossip about myungsoo having a girlfriend. the hardest part about keeping the relationship a secret, though, was that girls often clung to myungsoo when gyuri was standing off in the distance. he was often asked out  to eat dinner with other women--which he didn't accept, of course. but knowing myungsoo wasn't yet completely hers made gyuri a little bitter inside.

the proposal was simple, yet very well thought-out. myungsoo had rolled out of bed bright and early at six in the morning, right before the sun rose. he was nervous, and she could sense it when she woke up a few minutes after him. she'd asked him if he had a special performance that day that was making him really nervous, and he'd responded, "yeah. you could call it a special performance." gyuri gave him a quizzical look after he spoke those words, and myungsoo (without a word) told her to follow him. the two walked down the streets of seoul in the early morning, where their only companions were the joggers and the drunkards. gyuri complained the whole way, and myungsoo worried his off.

they reached woollim entertainment, and gyuri only became even more confused. why where they even here? myungsoo dragged her into the building, up the stairs, and onto the roof just as the red, pink and yellow of the sun's light was pushing away the blue and cyan of the night. gyuri was drawn into the sight, and didn't notice that myungsoo had gotten on one knee. she turned and met his eyes, then he spoke those four life-changing words. "will you marry me?" of course, gyuri had no other choice but to say yes. she was ready to go through a change, and leave behind her wild past. the ring. 

wedding --- needless to say, the wedding was an spectacular event that was talked about for weeks after. gyuri had grown up wishing to have a princess fairytale wedding, so that's exactly what it turned out to be. she had decorated the event herself, sent out all the elegant-yet-cute card invitations, and managed to invite most of the celebrities in seoul. the wedding was broadcasted on television for those who weren't able to--or allowed to attend. seeing all those people there made myungsoo a bit anxious (why did people like to see weddings anyways? it was probably the cake, that's what). they had a elegant cake for the guests to eat, and a great feast following the ceremony. 

conflict --- like any other couple, their marriage also goes through ups and downs. myungsoo has quite a temper (that he wants to get rid of), and gyuri often times is just acting as a devil's advocate because debates stimulate the mind. the children don't like the fighting, though. the fighting's not too extreme, just a few insults and some stank eye. gyuri sometimes w0nders though, if the fights would get worse if he knew about her affairs.

kim gyuri had grown up as a priviledged child. her parents gave her the best clothes, let her live in quite a nice house, in a nice community, with socialites and the elite strutting up and down the street with their high-heeled platform shoes and brown oxfords. the guys all wore formal suits, and the women were trendsetters, shawls and teardrop earrings adorned their yoga-fit bodies. gyuri always hung around the neighborhood kids, and played doll-house with the girls while the guys were busy rolling around in the mud and getting their hundred-thousand won toddler clothes dirty. everyone knew each other, and everyone was connected to some type of big company or franchise. in a world where everything was laid out before her with a silver spoon, gyuri lived comfortably and lavishly. she never really had to work in order to get what she wanted; all she needed to do was lift her pinky finger, and there it was in front of her.  

her parents had wished for her to find a wealthy husband from a well-off family like themselves, and gyuri could just become a housewife or an socialite for the rest of her life. gyuri had never had any real life goals--she didn't know anything other than the fact that she loved to decorate. whenever she was asked about college, she would always respond with an "i don't know" and a blank look. for her family, as long as there was money, everything went without a bump in the road. growing up, gyuri had gotten used to seeing her parents pay off any mistakes that they made, and with this mindset gyuri thought that everything could be bought. in the pre-k to 6th grade  academy that she attended, she boasted to the poorer scholarship kids that she could do whatever she wanted just because she had money. following the steps of the other wealthier kids as she grew up, gyuri made fun of the girls who came to school wearing stained hand-me-down blouses instead of fresh-of-the-racks frocks. it wasn't until her senior year of high school that she realized her mistake. she had been too blinded by the need for attention and popularity to realize that she had been bullying others---just because of class differences. 

all throughout her life, gyuri had been into art. her dearest mother, however,had initially wanted her to become a ballerina and learn how to dance like all the other little princesses down the street, but after one glass it was pretty evident that gyuri just wasn't built to dance. she was more into colors and the wild of paintbrushes on the coarse fabric of canvas. it had been painting that made her mature and break out of her snobby rich-girl attitude--it made her realize that, like a painting, all people are different. even if you use a cheap and not very popular brand of paint, you can still create something beautiful. with this new outlook on life, she went on to college in london, experiencing a whole new culture and taking in the sights. she took a lot of time to herself to just ponder and think about the meaning of life (she never really got far with that) and had a few flings with cute guys--many times it was more than one at the same time. at one point she had contracted chlamydia from one of them, and from then on vowed to have safer (but that resolution wore off after a while). 

it was a few months after she graduated that she came back to seoul in order to intern at a immensely popular interior design firm centered in apgujeong. her first job was to help out an experienced designer with the re-decorating of woollim entertainment. by this time, it was 2015. infinite was super-popular, and gyuri was quite excited about the project (and maybe the chance of meeting an idol) even though she wasn't one of those kpop-obsessed fangirls. while re-decorating the building, infinite often walked by, as did the other members of the company. gyuri was too into the decorating to notice anyone else, but quite a few members of infinite called her "that hot redecorating girl". myungsoo never said anything about her, but had to admit that she was quite good-looking.

a few weeks into the designing, a snarky little girl from infinite's sister group (which had debuted in 2014) passed by and said that she liked the old design of the building better. now, gyuri can usually withstand insults pretty well. but insulting her decorating? no way jose. the k-idol continued to talk about the new look to her friends, and gyuri proceeded to dump a bucket of paint on the girl. sure, she had been fired from her job, had her face plastered in tabloids and on the internet, but gyuri didn't care. she'd gotten her revenge. and little did she know, she'd also gotten the interest of myungsoo.

interior designer, freelance artist: gyuri is now a popular,  top-notch, critically acclaimed interior designer with a keen sense for visual aesthetics and placement. gyuri has designed the interiors of quite a few five-star restaurants and resorts in seoul, she's even done interior decorating for entertainment companies such as yg, sm, starship, and woollim. ever since she was a little girl, she would sit down in front of her doll house for hours on end, just re-arranging the furniture here and there. she never touched the pile of dolls she had, it was only the doll house that mattered. and this grew on her as she herself grew up. her mother thought it was a good idea to find her a stable husband and settle down so that she could also do interior designing on the side, and her father wished to push her into business so that she could take over the company when he died. gyuri ignored both of their requests and decided that she didn't need a man to support her, and that she wanted her own company with her own rules, not some easy-to-get, hand-me-down company from her father. so after high school she went on to study interior design as her major, and business as her minor. gyuri studied abroad in london at st. martin's college of art and design. after college, gyuri went on to start her interior design business, and it is quite accomplished.

ryu is a little ball of energy. myungsoo often jokes that ryu has absorbed all the power from gyuri (as she's not as much as a risk-taker anymore). he's often running around with his arms outstretched, making airplane noises. whenever he's with myungsoo, he likes to ask him as many questions as he can, like "why is the sky blue?" or  even "is it true that adults are all robots for us children?" he's as naive as a child can be, and doesn't care much about others. he's rather selfish and always wants to be the first in line, the person with the most stickers, or the best in class (for everything). ryu is super-talkative and usually talks about unimportant things, but this trait tends to attract people to him. with gyuri, ryu is often asking for things to eat or if she could buy him this new toy that everybody else has.

at home --- ryuhyun loves to cause trouble. it's his forte. if his parents are working and his brother is off in some room drawing, ryuhyun feels neglected, and therefore is thirsty for attention. this is the main reason why he likes to scheme and make a ruckus. he often steals things his parents use a lot and then hide them under his bed so they have to stop what they're doing and pay attention to him. the only things that can keep his attention for more than a few minutes is the tv and the computer. he does throw tantrums a lot, especially if they're going to take him to the doctor for a checkup or if his parents say something that he doesn't agree with. 

at daycare --- at daycare, ryu is more behaved because MEAN DAYCARE LADIES! when he first was let out of the infants section and could talk, he caused a lot of trouble at the daycare. he would knock down shelves if he was upset or kick the daycare ladies in their legs (or maybe stop on their feet), if he didn't get what he wanted. he soon learned that not behaving himself would lead to a scolding and possibly a spanking. after that experience, he learned to keep himself out of trouble at the daycare. 

in public --- in public, ryuhyun is often begging for his parents to buy him the things that he sees in the front windows of toyshops. he quickly becomes transfixed by the bright colors and loud sounds of the bustling city of seoul, and spends more time looking around in amazement at the tall skyscrapers than talking about what happened in his day. if ryu becomes too much to handle, his parents will often take him for a walk because it usually shuts him up. 

habits • 

used to throw food that he didn't like on the wall (still does it sometimes, but is mostly done with that stage)

sleeps in a fetal position

likes to drag people around by holding their hand and forcible pulling them along

sports : he's always loved to run around and particiapates in seoul's junior soccer league

extra • ryu loves action movies, for some odd reason. whenever going to the movies or having a movie night, he'll always beg for an action movie. also, he has slight asthma, so he has to take an inhaler two times a day. (once in the morning and once in the afternoon)

personality • as for jae, he's usually more reserved and keeps to himself. unlike his older brother, who likes to wildly scream and plays with everyone who he comes in contact with, jae prefers to sit at a table by himself or with one or two people and read children's books or draw. often times, he'll talk to others while he's drawing, or he draws and just sits next to the person who is talking to him. he gets along well with talkative people because they do all the talking for him and all he has to do is listen. like his father, he likes to think. he's also incredibly smart, because he's spent his childhood reading and reading instead of playing outside with his older brother. with his father, he doesn't know what to say. usually, it's myungsoo who talks to him, and instead of having a conversation between the two it's just myungsoo talking the whole entire time. with gyuri, he opens up a little bit more and talks to her about things from what happened at school to what to eat for dinner (what more is there to talk about, really? politics?).

jae has good ears, and listens to everything. from eavesdropping on conversations to watching the news, jae knows a lot of useless information because he listens to anything. around strangers, he  doesn't like to talk. (especially if they're adults). he just ignores them and thinks that maybe they'll get bored with him and move on in life. around other children, he might say a thing or two, but usually he sticks to drawing. he does talk, but just prefers to be in the background and not have that much attention put on him.

behaviour •

at home --- jae is significantly more well-behaved than ryu. instead of running around and causing trouble, jae likes to sit by himself watching tv, or reading a book. he often borrows his older brother's action figures to set up an elaborate adventure. jae doesn't need people, because he has his imagination. but even the calmest child throws temper tantrums. with jae, it's vegetables that make him angry. he'll throw them on the floor if he doesn't like to eat them, or even just sit and stare at the plate of food.

at daycare --- he doesn't really interact with the others at daycare and prefers to just draw and escape into his own little world. he absolutely hates nap time though, and always thinks that it's better to stay awake than to pretend to go to sleep (who can sleep in the middle of the day?) jae doesn't complain about it, because he's seen others get scolded and doesn't want that to happen to him.

in public --- jae doesn't really like going shopping or walking down the street. he prefers staying inside, where he's familiar with his surroundings. when he's outside, he gets even quieter than before because he's confused by the change of surroundings. 

habits •

always sleeps with his stuffed cow (given to him by sungjong)

a very picky eater, he likes to eat meats instead of veggies

has to drink a cup of milk before going to bed

plotline desires •

a good addition to the plotline, i think, would be gyuri's cheating. oh, and definitely gyuri's meeting with myungsoo (the spilling paint story). but i think i like the idea of ryu causing trouble at the daycare more. xD perhaps plotting to take down the daycare ladies with the other kids? hm?

comments • just wanted to let you guys know that this storyline sounds and looks great. (love the pororo going on xD) it took me quite a while to get all of this finished and wrapped up for good (since i'm a procrasinator and a uber-perfectionist too >__>) so i hope you guys like the characters that i've taken the time to create while i should've been finishing my schoolwork. xD (good thing it's a long weekend, eh?)

questions • if our character isn't chosen, are they still going to appear at some point in the story? (if this is already answered in the faq, just ignore the question because i'm being a stupid bum. if it isn't answered, then i would like my character to at least hover around in the background awkwardly because i spent quite a deal of energy and time into creating her and her children xD)
