why apply? » 'cause i ing felt like it. naw, just jokes. in all seriousness, it's because it's honestly the first apply-fic i've come across that has openly allowed a totally non-asian character. plus, it's not just some out-of-the-book girl group apply fic or boy fic (i'm just not into that kind of stuff...) not to mention the fact that it has also always kinda been my dream to visit seoul (well not always, but ever since i've discovered kpop). aaand, the format is aesthetically pleasing. c: my character may not be like me, but hey, isn't that what a character is supposed to be?

nickname(s) » axel -- alexander has never really liked his full name. and so he just started to tell people to call him axel, and the name stuck. 

persona » axel is known by the public as "the classy gentleman". although he's at an age where most go wild, would want to sneak out every night in order to party and get wasted and do the unthinkable, axel remains sophisticated and polite. of course, he isn't abstinent, but he isn't in some seedy nightclub grinding up against girls every night. others often say that he's got a stick up his , but he's just more mature than the others, and knows right from wrong.

appearance » with a slim frame and a tall stature, axel usually finds himself towering over everyone else in the room. he has a taut body with quite a few muscles, and overall looks statuesque. naturally born with curly dark-brown locks, but often dyes it so that it is blond, and flattens it out or gels it up into a nice hairdo. he has a cutting jawline and charming blue eyes. he'll ocassionally have a bit of stubble if he forgets to shave.

style » axel's personalized revolving closet is chock-full of designer suits and slacks -- armani, brooks brothers, nautica, ralph lauren, the works. you can usually find him wearing exactly what you expect the wealthy and "elite" to wear, formal suits and shiny new shoes. for axel, wearing suits and ties everyday is the norm. for him, "lazy-casual" is a preppy cardigan, polo, or a sweater paried with shorts and some boat shoes. sunglasses optinoal. he prefers to have his tie in an eldredge knot. as for accessories, he usually plops on his vintage rolex watch, given to him by his great-grandfather before he passed away.

extra(s) » axel has a splattering of freckles and moles on his chest&back, and nothing else. he deems tattoos "dirty" and quite revolting. as for body features, axel has rather large feet.

personality »

the silent one; "to be, not to be seen." axel is never really one to talk without being talked to first. he's that person that just sits and stares out the window or at some random spot on the wall. he's usually preoccupied with his thoughts and just doesn't feel like opening up his trap.  he doesn't want to seem like some weird, blabbering idiot with bad jokes. whenever he does say something, it's usually something witty or full of sense. instead of socializing, he likes to observe and collect information on people. his silent demeanor often makes one think that he looks down upon them and that he doesn't think they're worthy enough to talk to him, but that is definitely not the case. axel accepts all types of people, and usually is a bit absent-minded, leaving his possesions in a trail behind him and never remembering where they are. he's nice and polite to anyone who is nice to him and seem interested in him (and if they're of a high status), and often doesn't notice if their motives aren't pure or just. 

the 3 c's: cool, charismatic and calm; screaming, ranting and raging? not this guy. no matter what situation, axel manages to maintain level-headedness and calmness. he tends to be a bit too calm in dangerous or emergency situations, resulting in other people yelling at him for being "stupid". he gives off a cool, charismatic vibe that attracts all sorts of people to him, male or female. this guy is usually surrounded by friends or women, even when he doesn't want them around. axel doesn't get angry or all ruffed up very easily. if someone challenges him to a fight, he'll likely politely decline and make some witty remark. 

high morals, high class;  born into a life of wealth and easy access to absolutely everything, axel is a tad arrogant. no, scratch that. axel can sometimes be arrogant to the point of others wanting to slap him in the face. he usually looks down upon those who are less fortunate than him, and despises those who don't act formal or polite or do things the "proper" way. basically, axel has a bit of a prince complex. he doens't think that he's the best, but he definitely thinks he's within the top ten or so. he is also quite used to getting what he wants. he won't throw tantrums (how childish!), but he'll get a bit upset. despite this, he's very cultured and follow the unwritten rules of the elite with "old money".

in a nutshell » you thought axel was just some spoiled, sheltered little rich boy, like the rest of them? well, think again. axel wallenberg has a lot more brains and intelligence than those sub-species. instead of getting drunk and hooking up with a new girl every night, axel attends formal banquets with refined, elegant women (but most of the times he doesn't even know or remember their names). he despises anyone who isn't proper, but otherwise he's usually friendly to anybody he meets. overall, axel is just quite the cool-headed gentleman. he may not say much, but he's definitely intelligent and always pays attention to even the smallest details. almost nothing can make him rage, as he manages to keep himself calm. axel usually will always, always listen to his parents and their orders. he can be a bit of a party pooper sometimes, but that's just the way he was taught and brought up.

likes »

• wine -- especially aged wine. it's a hell lot better than alcohol, anyways. he can hold his liquor, but prefers to try not to get wasted. 
• cars -- now what kind of self-respecting man doesn't like to look at (and buy) cars? 
• xbox -- even the classiest sir has to like xbox. but halo 4 instead of call of duty.
• women -- much more satisfying and fun to be around than little girls who complain about their hair and get wasted all the time.

dislikes »

• paparazzi --they're always trying to get a shot of his face because his family is very secretive and the tabloids are always sticking their noses in other people's business. 
• asian food --axel has never really gotten used to the taste of asian food, except for sushi. also, he's not that skilled at using chopsticks.
• slums/ghettos --these places make axel extremely uncomfortable, since the beggars will usually ask him for money and/or attempt to jump him because he looks rich.
• kpop --he doesn't hate it, but he definitely doesn't like it that much either. it's quite annoying to him, and he only likes the dance choreography.
• cigarettes -- bad for the body, and that smoke is gross. did you know what smoking can cause two teeth to fall out in the time span of 10 years?
• aegyo -- the is that ?
• logos -- axel hates it when people wear clothing with designer brands plastered across the front of their chest or their bottom. undignified and unclassy.
• social climbers -- the type of people who use others to gain popularity. disgusting lowlifes.

hobbies »

• dance -- axel was originally tutored in ballroom dancing at a young age. however, he became more interested in hip-hop and pop dances and that's what he likes to do in his free time.
• billiards -- the game requires much thought, precision and skill. but of course, axel only pretends to know what he's doing when he plays billiards. 
• partying -- even the most uptight gentleman in all of manhattan likes to go clubbing. just as long as he doesn't get drunk.
• sailing -- his parents often took him sailing, and he loves the feel of the wind against his face. not to mention, the view of the city from the ocean is breathtaking.
• horseback riding -- now who doesn't like to do this? axel also has his own horse, introduced in the "family" section
• golfing -- not really his forte, but his father often takes him to sebonack golf club when he visits the city on a business trip.

special talents » as forementioned, axel is skilled in dancing. d  a  n  c  e. other than that, he really has no other special talents, unless you count being super wealthy and knowing how to correctly use sprezzatura as a special talent.

fears & phobias » the only fear axel has is the fear of suddenly becoming broke and helpless in the wild world. he's always had his trust fund and his status to get him wherever and whatever he wanted. so this change would definitely shake him up a bit (though he may just pretend to stay calm and not show that it bothers him at all).

✈ billionaire 

life story » alexander theodore wallenberg was born to proud swedish parents felix and annika wallenberg on the first day of the year 1993 in the charming and posh city of london, england. the couple had been on a trip to visit good family friends, but were surprised to find that axel would be born two weeks earlier than intended. but no matter. axel grew up in a beautiful manor with a overlooking view of stockholm, sweden. he had plenty of space to run around and cause mischief, but he preferred staying by his parents' side. and when they were too busy to deal with him, axel clung to the family butler, his younger sister matilda, or his nanny. he was extremely well-behaved for a child and got along with just about anybody. his parents had intended to hire tutors to help him learn, but ended up sending him and his sister to a private boarding school in the sparsely populated countryside of sweden. it was at this establishment that he learned what he knows today. he was taught in too many subjects to list, and a good three quarters of those subjects he would probably never, ever have to even use in real life. he always seemed to fit in with the "popular" people at his boarding school,  even though he was rather quiet and objected to them causing trouble (such as putting tacks on the teacher's chair and vandalizing the school's property).

and then, his parents had decided that they would send him and his sister together to new york to attend a very well-known, prestigious school for both middle school and high school. their parents stayed in sweden, and axel lived with his nanny and butler. his parents would visit for a week every month, sometimes just his mother would come, sometimes his father would come, and sometimes both would drop by. you can imagine that with this arrangement, axel would turn his multi-million dollar townhouse into a party house. but no, axel had never really been into that kind of lifestyle. his sister, on the other hand, occasionally held formal dinner parties at the house. like her brother, she is very chic and classy, and parties with class, not and trash. he took the extra time to focus on his dancing. although he was unusually well-behaved for a teenage boy, he did have a gaggle of girlfriends that he likely didn't know the names to, but they got bored of him because he was more into literature and opera than and partying.

because axel has always disliked or looked down upon those lower than him, his parents..well, they tried to send him to africa and help the children, but instead of taking a flight to africa he fled to their chateau house in paris, france, where he met a beautiful french lady his age who had him completely wrapped around her little finger. axel bought whatever she wanted, and his parents noticed when he maxed out his bank account. they personally went to paris to drag him back to their main home in sweden. they knew that he often had trouble with girls and either completely ignored them or attached to them like glue. they then introduced him to a girl that fit his parents' standards--pretty, rich, classy, of high status, and sweet. she seemed pretty nice when he met her, but he took her on a date and she acted completely different and clung to his arm like it was her life support. this girl was incredibly annoying, but pretended to be nice when around his parents. his parents expected them to marry, but on the wedding day he bailed and flew out to a friend's summer house in the miami keys. his parents sent his sister matilda to drag him back to sweden (which involved a lot of pushing and shoving and bribing). afterwards, his parents had enough and sent him to seoul to find the right girl...or maybe he wouldn't find love. but it would help discard of his arrogance.

family business » the wallenberg family (simply known as "the wallenbergs" or "wallenbergs") is a prominent swedish banking family, renowned as bankers, industrialists, politians, diplomats, and philanthropists. the wallenberg sphere, an international banking-and-industry group under the control of the wallenberg family through the holding company investor ab, based in stockholm, sweden, is today europe's largest family-controlled business empire. the reins of the family business is passed down from the father to the eldest son in the family. in sweden alone, the sphere was estimated to indirectly control a third of the national gdp in 1990. although very well-known in sweden for their success and prosperity, the wallenbergs have a very low-key public profile, eschewing conspicuous displays of wealth. the family motto is "esse non videri", which is latin for "to be, not to be seen".

✈ miserable at best

kpop » he doesn't mind for it much. in his opinion, some of it is good, and some of it is bad. axel has never really had a thing for asian girls either, so they never catch his attention. they're all the same-looking, anyways. what's the fun in that? axel is kind of creeped out by kpop artists acting cute to the point of disgusting, and he doesn't really understand the concept of "aegyo". but as a dancer, axel is intruiged by their pretty kickass choreography. he also has a youtube channel dedicated to kpop dances (under a alias, of course). 

the sweet life » oh, it was absolutely fantastic. he enjoyed getting a view of a completely different culture that he hadn't really payed much attention to before. of course, he partied a lot more than usual and some of the photos from those nights may have gotten out by accident. the food, people, class, clothes, city...everything was wonderful and perfect.

downfall of us » at first, axel couldn't react. he just stood there, frozen in place with a shocked "o" on his face. his worst nightmare was becoming a reality--having no easy access, having to survive on his own...having to actually work for what he wanted. axel got over it after a while though, returning to his usual calm self. he decided to just go along with it and see what would come out of it. of course, it would be no easy task...

why oh why? » axel is being punished by his parents because he was too arrogant and looked down upon people less fortunate than he was. now he gets to experience what those less fortunate people go through. 

part-time job(s) » no longer able to buy expensive name brands and have access to the vip nightclubs, axel works part-time as a backup dancer for the tvxq duo. in his free time, he also helps out at the university's library.

» love story | they're just two good friends who are stuck in a rut. axel has hidden his background away from her, as she likes charming, self-made men who can do things on their own..whereas axel is the opposite, always having to rely on his parents and their money and status. seohyun really likes him, but axel doesn't know if he really feels the same way. even if they do become a couple, his parents will probably find out somehow and cut their ties...and then force him into a marriage with some wealthy family friend. *the other love interests will have similar stories, personalities, meetings, ect. because i'm a lazy . sorry. >.>

rival » kim daehyun | boa's back-up dancer | 23 | a show-off, daehyun can always be found boasting to his friends that he's a part of the entertainment industry, no matter how small his role is. he likes to cling to famous and rich people, and is quite the loud-mouthed liar. he's willing to do anything it takes to become known. even if it involves sabotaging axel. | daehyun can't stand when somebody is more skilled than he is. and so when axel arrived as tvxq's backup dancer, daehyun had initially badmouthed him without first seeing him dance, because, well...he was european, and everbody knows that they can't dance. well, he was wrong, and axel turned out to be a better dancer than daehyun. so daehyun plans to make axel fail and possibly be fired by their boss.

is it okay if the authors tweak your app? » oh yes, it's fine for me as long as there aren't any drastic changes. characters are meant to be molded and improved, after all.

comments & suggestions » um..teacher? question for you. for the love interests, do we have to fill out the format for every single love interest or just the first choice? because i saw someone else's amazingly done application and they had filled out the format for all ten love interests.
