Why I Admire Bruce Lee

So last night when I was relaxing a bit, watching some of my old Bruce Lee dvd collection I got for Christmas a few years ago (best Christmas gift ever I might add) I started wondering 'What is it about this man that I love so much?' it isn't only because he was an awesome martial artist, it wasn't only because I thought he was attractive, to be honest...I don't know.

I don't know what it is about the guy I love and adore really ^^; I guess to me he seemed more genuine (is that the right word?) then most actor's are today. True there are other amazing martial artists/actors like Jackie Chan, Donnie Yen, Tony Jaa, Jet Li, Chuck Norris etc and I believe these guys are really just-wow you know with their skills but like Jackie Chan and Donnie Yen once said in this Bruce Lee documentary I watched 'People say 'Oh you're just as good as Bruce Lee' or 'You are the next Bruce Lee' no my friend: There is only ONE Bruce Lee'.

Or I think they said something along those lines anyway I can't remember but anywho!

I notice there's a lot of people trying to be like Bruce Lee, they try to imitate his style and looks even, but as Jackie Chan and other martial artists/actors have said there is only ONE Bruce Lee no matter how hard you try to be like him, to me no one will ever be like Bruce Lee.

I remember when one of my uncles told me how Bruce Lee was only 32 years old when he died, I was shocked. I thought he was still around but unfortunately he passed away after having brain hemorage I think whatever you call it-swelling of the brain? I mean I know he's not the only guy who's died at 32 years of course people have died younger than that, but still it just surprised me for some reason. One day also when I was browsing around on Twitter his wife Linda Lee Cadwell finally accepted a follower request from me.

Oh lord I can't tell you how thrilled I felt that morning XD To think...Bruce Lee's wife actually is following me on Twitter. That was like Christmas morning almost ha ha. She's a very busy woman I'd imagine, so I understand if my questions and such don't get answered right away but to know that she's well-following me on Twitter is just awesome.

Now back to Bruce Lee.

To me what I liked most about Bruce Lee, from the facts I read about him and the documentary's I've watched of him was that he allowed every student to enter his class no matter of race, if they had disablities, how young or old they were, he still accepted them as his pupils and I like martial arts teachers that are like that.

He also seemed like a VERY loving and caring husband/father, it seemed like he loved his family so much and would do anything for them I admire people like that.

Even though I wasn't born yet when Bruce Lee was alive, he is still one of my hero's you could say. He inspired me in a way, to continue my writing; I know writing and martial arts are way different but still he really inspired me to keep going so I can get better and better at it. No matter what problem he faced in life, he always managed to find a solution to make it better and that's what inspired me to keep on writing.

And that about wraps up this blog post I guess.

RIP Bruce Lee...'Little Dragon' ^^
