 Barcelona: Please Don't Go

“It’ been like what? Two years? How’re you right now? Are you doing good? I hope so, they better be feeding you right. Yeah, still the same ‘ol me, sorry about that. It’s just, I can’t help but miss you since you’ve…moved. Don’t worry about me though, I’m doing fine here. Yeah, that was a lie. I mean, not really…” the young male stared longingly and some strands of hair away from the latter’s face, ”I’m doing OK but not too good. It’s just that I really miss you. Anyway, I should tell you about my day right? Okay, let's start then…”

“It’s been like this for almost two years, why isn’t there any progress?” The middle aged woman asked the man in a white coat, not really looking at him but she was staring at the teenager from the other side of the door.

“It is only natural for people with this case to react that way ma’am. It’s all up to them if and when they ever wants to come back to us now.” The doctor gave the lightest way to answer the older woman’s question but it didn’t seem clear to the latter.

“What do you mean doc? Are you saying that my son will never be cured?” The woman’s tone was a little offended and hurt. She didn’t want to see her boy like this.

“What I’m trying to say ma’am is that your son may not want to be with us anymore. He seems better off the way he is now.”

“I still don’t-“

“I’m not going back mother…” The two adults whipped their heads to the source of the voice. With all the tension, they didn’t even notice that the boy from the other room had heard and was now in front of them. ”I’m happy now.”

Those words would hurt any mother and it didn’t take long for the boy’s to break down in tears. He didn’t mind that he could see his own mom crying, who he did care about was just inside the room behind him. He looked at the doctor who was holding on to the wrecked lady and he smiled.

“Please take care of her. Don’t let her come here anymore if she’s going to be like this every time I say that.” The boy then looked at his mom and bowed. He gave her a wide, sincere smile and turned to go back into his haven.

“Please Minho! Please come back to me! I’m your mother! PLEASE!” The lady couldn’t keep her composure and she threw her pride out the window after hearing the boy’s hurtful words. She would do anything to get her son back, anything. Even if it meant for her to grab onto one of his legs and kneel and beg, she didn’t care.

The woman was still sobbing hard yet she wouldn’t let go of the boy’s  leg. He looked down at her with cold eyes and said ever so slowly just for her to understand and with every word the boy point to himself and to the room behind him, ”YOU did this. YOU brought this onto yourself. Bring HER back and maybe I will!”

The hall went dead silent. The woman didn’t say a word and the doctor was left there speechless with what the boy asked his own mother. What did this woman do to make her child despise her so much as to choose to stay in this state than to be in her arms?

“And this is why you should just let me go, because I did.” With one last smile, the boy shrugged his leg off of his mother’s grip and entered his room.

The doctor rushed to the woman’s side and helped her up. She was a mess, her makeup was running but the worst part there was that her heart was broken and her thoughts looked like they were going everywhere. It may be a stupid question to ask but he had to anyway “Are you okay ma’am?”

“He’s right, I did this.” It was silent but it was loud enough for the doctor to hear.

“Ma’am?”

“I took his doll away, his everything. I was selfish because I knew. I knew that her time was up and yet… and yet I took her from him. Pwaha! I’m such a bad mother doc! I’m such a bad mother! Who does that?! Pwahahaha! I DO!”

“Ma’am? Ma’am! Please get a hold of yourself! Nurse! Nurse! Get somebody here to help me! Ma’am!”

The hall was buzzing and going haywire. The mother from earlier was being hysterical and a number of nurses including the doctor was holding her down. Other patients and their relatives watched at the poor lady was given a shot to calm herself down, the whole scene was just awful and scary but it didn’t matter to the boy within the room next to the whole event.

He was crouched on a chair, looking out the window while he looked at the birds flying over head. He turned his face to the right to reach for something and he smiled upon getting a hold of the small figure.

“I’m sorry about that. It was her again but I made her go away like the last time but this time, I think she wouldn’t bother us anymore… Look Dara! Can you see that? Those birds will be bringing my letter to you any moment now. They’re gonna get to you soon so just you wait. I hope you send me a reply soon though. I hope you do.” The boy held onto the doll and  her hair. He turned it to face him and stared at the eyes intently before his vision blurred.

“I miss you.”

I got bored and I don't really know where to place this... I did but it didn't get noticed so here it is. Please tell me your thoughts on this! Thank you!
