family background : Her Mother and Father are two affluent people in the east. Her mother is a famous painter known for her modern pieces. Her father is a celebrated violinist. She's the youngest child of three with an two older brothers. All of her sibilings are talented at something, so no one outshined the other. Her eldest brother, Alexander, was very gifted with composing music and sports and got a scholorship to Julliard in New York after graduating high school. Her other brother, Minwan, is very talented with art and is under the tutalege of their mother. Minnah's talents for a while weren't seen. Minnah's talent seemed to be her natural beauty but that wasn't enough for Minnah. She wanted something tangible, something that wouldn't fade.

At 13, Minnah and her sibilings moved to Seoul, South Korea to live with her grandmother so their parents could focus more on their careers. Minnah's brother's were already old enough to basically take care of themselves, however Minnah still needed parenting. Her grandmother however soon took the place of Minnah's mother and father and taught her the best she could about life. Whenever Minnah would have a bad day, she would sit on her grandmother's lap and her grandmother would sing her troubles away. This is where Minnah first learned the powers of music. Soon she was singing the same song her grandmother would sing to her to herself and learned that her voice wasn't half-bad. (How she got to SM and auditioned is continued in Trainee History)  
personality :

   Minnah is a quiet reflective soul. Her eyes always seem to be b with wonder although she will hardly talk about it. Her voice is very soft but her words are very powerful. So powerful in fact that it stops everyone from talking. Minnah rather stay in the back and let the more vocal members talk, however she always finds that the interviewer wants to talk to her. Despite her quiet nature, she is very charismatic and has natural aeygo. However, she'll never use it against anyone and only does it if someone requests it from her.

    She really likes to sing although she's not the main or lead vocalist. The producers often use her soft husky voice in the background of the song which is perfectly fine with her. When she likes someone she'll automatically blush when around them. She's not shy at all but if that person is around, she'll be silent. She's very honest and won't lie just to make someone in her group look better. She doesn't believe that people should be judged for her past actions. She doesn't like for her family to come up on TV or things like that because people always say that she's living off of their legacy.

   Minnah has a temper problem and you can tell when she gets mad cause her face gets red and her eyebrows lower. You'd never think that someone that quiet would get so angry but it's always the quiet ones that get upset. You'll find that Minnah is very stubborn and won't change her beliefs easily for anyone. If she's not comfortable with something she won't do it and it's put her in the crosshairs of Lee Soo Man plenty of times.

Her mother was always helping Minnah try to find something that she was good at and always encoraged Minnah to try her best at everything.

Minnah and Zico are very best friends but at first Minnah didn't want to get to close to him. At first impression Zico seemed tough and hard to get along with. However, when they met Zico nearly bowled her over with compliments about her voice and things of that nature. After that she only saw the bubbly Zico.

trainee history : She audtioned in the 2005 global SM audtion casting call after her grandmother nearly dragged her to it. There she met Taemin who,like explanied before, became one of her favorite people. She was almost passed over because of her meek personality and quietness but BoA happened to see something in her that nobody else did. After she was casted, she went through voice lesssons and charisma training to get her out of her meekness. However, it was just natural for her to be quiet. BoA explained that this was apart of her charm to Lee Soo Man and he didn't make her go through all of those classes. After stopping the personality training, Minnah started star classes that taught how to answer questions, better singing and dancing, and how to hone in her other talents.

personality : Jonghyun is very excitable. He's funny and very handsome. He's very emotional and isn't afraid to cry. He's very adorable and is the type of guy that you just want to be around. He's also very good at singing, like really good. Plus those arms. He's a sweet lovable dork that isn't afraid to fail.
relationship : Jonghyun and Minnah are two opposites. Jonghyun is very loud and Minnah is well not. When the two of them get together Jonghyun is usually the one that's dominating everything but will always quietly ask if she's okay with this or that. His not afraid to show that he likes her, and as we all know he loves skinship.
 

how the two of you met : Jonghyun was also casted in the 2005 Global Auditon, however Minnah didn't meet him until Taemin introduced the two when he was grouped in SHINee. Jonghyun and Minnah kept in touch and Minnah always liked him a little but when he started to date Shin Se Kyung her heart was crush and she tried her best to get over him. For a while, Minnah and Jonghyun stayed just friends until Jonghyun started to get overly touchy with her. Then rumors around SM said that they were dating and as much as Minnah denied it...Jonghyun would keep them going.
