Eunhae = Haehyuk + Hyukhae

Correct me if I'm wrong

No, I'm not here to start a war regarding who should top or bottom in the relationship. I have absolutely no problem in who is taking which role, since I'm both a Haehyuk & Hyukhae fan, which makes me an Eunhae fan... Or that's what I thought, so I'm here to clear some doubts that I have. 

I came across some comments with regards to these 3 words : Eunhae ; Haehyuk ; Hyukhae. 

From my understanding of those 3 words, Haehyuk is when Top!Hae & Bottom!Hyuk, while Hyukhae is Top!Hyuk & Bottom!Hae. I guess that, all can agree. But what I'm having issues with is the term "Eunhae". Isn't Eunhae supposed to mean both Hyukhae & Haehyuk, like in general? 

Being a Eunhae addict for the past 5 years, that has ALWAYS been my understanding towards those 3 terms... I mean like in 2007, there was no such thing as Haehyuk or Hyukhae yet, all we had was Eunhae and what it meant then was both Hyukhae & Haehyuk. So this means regardless if Hyuk or Hae tops/bottoms, it is known as Eunhae...

So shouldn't the equation be Haehyuk + Hyukhae = Eunhae and not Hyukhae=Eunhae?

Since when Eunhae is Top!Hyuk & Bottom!Hae????

I know some will have arguments towards who is topping in the relationship, but to me, it's both the same. And I don't intend to have a Hyukhae & Haehyuk war on my comments, I just wish to know if my understanding towards Eunhae is wrong because it has changed through the years; and this old woman here isn't updated with the new uses in the different terms. 

Someone enlighten me, please.

Well, I think originally, when the EunHae shippers first started, most people shipped it as bottom!Hae and top!Hyuk.

Then, people started getting angry (probably due to their own homophobia of not wanting Donghae to be portrayed as "girly" because he was always the bottom) and wanted to differentiate between their own views of Donghae and those of the majority. Thus we got "HaeHyuk".

In the past couple years, top!Hae and bottom!Hyuk has become the most popular, thus top!Hyuk fans have started using the term HyukHae.

Both HaeHyuk and HyukHae stem from very traditional views on gender roles and have ist/homophobic roots to their formation. In reality, a homoual male couple would probably have one guy who prefers bottoming more often and one who prefers topping. The roles are still interchangeable though. They will still spice things up occasionally. It doesn't make one of them less "masculine" or more "feminine" simply because he prefers to bottom. That's just what turns him on.

Ergo, I use EunHae because that is their original couple name, and because Eunhyuk is older. Besides, anytime the actual two of them have discussed it, Donghae would say "EunHae" or "HaeEun". They themselves have argued about it simply out of jest, because they as well are very ignorant of how homoual relationships function.

Anyways~ I agree with you that EunHae is a safer way to have a neutral opinion about who tops.

ok back to the topic . I'll turn to a 2yrs ELF and eunhae shipper next february so IDK if I hv the right to say it here but yes I do agree with u . I think eunhae is indeed general . either hyukhae or haehyuk , both are eunhae . I can accept both because tbqh , both are capable *u know wht I'm saying* so IDK if people had assume eunhae as hyukhae because that's totally wrong *my opinion guys . sooo yeah just look at others comment too :)

I actually dont really mind who will top or bottom as long as it's them. ;D
And tbh, I also think that eunhae=hyukhae too. Gonna change that from now on.

EunHae is Eunhyuk and Donghae together, it's the term when no one should give a damn on who tops. and come on, they're both guys, lol XD one of the perks on being in a man/man relationship, they can switch on who's going to sit on the throne :))) seriously whoever starts the hyukhae/haehyuk grouping is just stupid. What matters is they're with each other shisus christ.

Eunhae is like saying Hyukhae but some people dont get it. So we say Hyukhae. EunHae (as SJ members also said) is Hyuk as the 'hubby' and Hae the 'wife'. Again....people dont get it thus Hyukhae had to be said
