The male idol group, B.A.P, expressed thoughts on their first awards ceremony after debuting.
B.A.P participated in the ‘2012 Mnet Asian Music Awards (MAMA)’ that opened at 6 PM on November 30th at the Hong Kong Convention & Exhibition Center. They were honored with the Mnet PD Special Award on this day.
In the press conference that took place afterwards, their leader, Bang Yongguk, said, “We’re pleased to have been able to be put on such an honorable spot.”
Continuing on, Daehyun expressed his thanks by adding, “Because K-Pop is receiving a lot of interest worldwide, I feel like B.A.P is also receiving a large amount of interest.”
This year’s MAMA is the first awards ceremony for B.A.P since their debut. To this, they stated, “Although it’s our first awards ceremony, Bang Yongguk did a performance.” Adding on, “We received the honor of opening up with our performance, and we worked hard to show a neater and cooler side to ourselves as much as it is our first awards ceremony.”
Lastly, B.A.P revealed, “We don’t have any particular plans because we came to Hong Kong for MAMA, but we want to have a self-congratulatory party with the members once the awards ceremony ends since we received an honorable award.”
Meanwhile, MAMA had 18 normal categories for the artists who lit up 2012 such as the male and female rookie awards, male and female solo awards, male and female group awards, and the best dance performance award. They also held a fierce competition with the top 3 largest awards of this year’s best artist award, this year’s best song award, and this year’s best album award.
