❉ DESCRIPTION : 

She's taller than most girls, around 172-3 cm. She's also skinny, her weight is around 50-53 kg. She has a waist-long, wavy, silver blonde hair and purple eyes. Basically from afar, she looks like a walking human skeleton. She doesn't have any major bust or . 

She always wears a bell shaped earrings.

- She has gills at the sides of her neck. Even when she's on land, the gills won't completely dissapear. She has to keep it hydrated.

- She has webbed hands. 

- When she's a mermaid, she doesn't wear anything. Her assets are covered with her hair.

- Her tail is silver colored. Unlike most tails that are usually depicted in movies or illustrations, her tail is very long. 

- When she's on land, she likes to wear long dresses that completely covers her whole body. Her style is medieval-ish. Her color chart is mostly earth colors (brown, beige, ivory, moss green).

☀ NICKNAME : Ghost || Because of her pale complexion and silver hair, she resembles a floating ghost when looked from afar / at dark places.

☀ AGE : 19

☀ LIFESTYLE :

- From Sundays to Fridays she'll wake up at 8 am. At Saturdays, she'll wake up at 11 am.

- She'll then take her duty as the Guardian of the Tomb, a sacred temple for the merpeople because they believe that behind the sealed cavern at the center of the temple, the Great Sea Monster lay dormant. Saturdays are her holiday.

- Sometimes she will run away from the Tomb and play at the underwater meadow (a coral reef that greatly resembles flower meadows) with her friends: dolphins, whales, a family of seahorses, and any marine organisms that are present. 

- The Guard will come and fetch her sometime around 8 pm. She's constantly under the watch of the temple's Guard (because she's regarded as a threat by the merpeople) unless she manages to run away to the meadow (once the Guards checked in to the Tomb, they aren't permitted to leave the premises of the Tomb before 7 pm).

☀ HISTORY :

Her parents are a well known potter and her family was respected by the merpeople society. She was the one who paints the pottery, and she actually helped in making her parents' works more popular with her amazing painting ability.

The Red Guitarist came one day when she was painting at her workshop by the beach.  He offered her a deal, if he could, quote the Red Guitarist, "Have her colors," he'll let her hear the sound of her surroundings. Being a curious 14 years old girl, she accepted it. The Red Guitarist gave her the bell earrings and walked away without taking any of her works. She was confused but just shrugged it off. 

The next day she woke up and all she could see was black and white. The merpeople thought that it was a curse from the sea god and they banished her to serve at the Tomb forever.

☁ PERSONALITY :

Before: She was cheerful and lively. She was a well-mannered girl that always follows the rules. She treated other people and even strangers politely.  

After: What she considered as her sole purpose of living was taken away in just one night. Added that other people now think of her as a monster, and that her parents disregard her as their daughter, she changed into a whole new person. 

She lost her motivation of living. The only thing that prevents her from jumping off a cliff is her hatred towards the Red Guitarist. Her encounter with him makes her lost all her faith in humanity. She can't trust unknown people and she's skeptical when something is too good to be true and when someone acts too nicely towards her. She became grumpy, impatient, and short tempered. She'll tick off with the only the slightest annoyance. She's blunt and honest. She doesn't like to hide her feelings, so when she's angry or annoyed at someone, she'll come to them and tell them that they're pissing her off right in front of their face. She doesn't think over her action or words, and sometimes will charge off without even knowing what she's up against. Reckless and foolish. She thinks that she has nothing to loose.

After the Red Guitarist took the colors, her ability to feel emotion declines. A great stimuli is needed to excite her. This is when she started to become rebellious. The feeling she gets when she annoys other people or angered them is the closest to what she remembers as excitement. She becomes a sarcasm machine by responding to other people's comment in sharp, harsh, or sarcastic words. She likes to make fun of other people and calling them names. 

But at the rare times when she's in a good mood, she'll be calmer. She'll put a smile on her face and will be found engaging a one sided (She's the one who's talking) conversation with someone (usually pilgrims or random people). She'll become talkative, and will often tells a lot of jokes (even if sometimes it's not funny at all). She'll also become a bit nosy and will try to join other people's conversation. And the words that came out from won't be as sarcastic as usual. She's lonely and she wants attention.

She'll act the same towards people who are close to her. Maybe she'll be less honest and will try to hold back her episodes. She doesn't know how to act around guys, and so she'll be more blunt and sarcastic towards them, calling them names and pulling pranks on them more often.

☁ TRIVIA : 

• Her hair and eyes used to be as black as coal, and the color of her tail were like the sun at dusk. Now she's an albino.
• The jobs of Guardians are: Cleaning the temple, attending the pilgrims (healing their wounds, listening to their stories), do prayers, perform rituals.
• Unlike most mermaids, she can't get water into her gills involuntarily, so like sharks, she has to keep moving in order to breathe. If she wanted to sleep, she has to sleep on land (of course with the Guards watching her).
• Even in her imagination and dream, she won't be able to see colors.
• The bell earrings serves as her seeing aid. It acted like a sonar device, creating resonant waves. She would be able to 'hear' her surroundings through the waves. It also acts as the reminder on why she should keep on living. 
• She's one of the fastest mermaid.

He was born after Sumi was banished. She never knew that she has a younger brother.

☄ LOVE SCENE : He likes Sumi first, supposedly? She doesn't trust him and regards him as annoying. The rest I'll just hand it over to you :D

✿ BACKGROUND : Sumi spent most of her days painting at her workshop by the sea, trying to finish as much pottery as she can to help her parents' business. If not, she'll help her mom at their store. She didn't attend school, but she liked to join the school's  harpooning club (only when her painting job is done). She's the 5th generation of the old merking's mistress.

ps: You might think that it's weird for her to take harpooning club, given that she's a sea creature herself. But the club usually use it to only hunt small fishes, tunas, salmon, or other eatable fish. Any fish that they caught must be taken home to be eaten... Just to clear things out :P
