Tumblr Writing Exercise 2

OTP given: JongLo Word given: Glasses.  This was really hard because I don't ship JongLo... AT ALL. Besides, you know, in a total bromance way.

JongUp sat at the table tapping his feet to the terrible music being played inside of the gaudy tea house he was at. He stared out the window, sipping his hot cider and trying to ignore the situation he was in when his cell phone buzzed.

He really didn’t understand why YongGuk felt the need to send him on blind dates. He was happy just the way he was and adding a girl to things would just make life complicated in a way he wasn’t ready for.

“So, you brought me here… to break up with me?” asked Zelo with every ounce of courage in his body. “It’s not like that,” Himchan explained, “You’re just young. It was fun while it lasted, but we both have some growing up to do.” Zelo’s glasses fogged as watched his boyfriend of 8 months walk out of the door without so much as an apology. Zelo removed his glasses as the tears began falling more and more quickly. He was hurt, of course, but more than that, he was humiliated. He began hyperventilating. Zelo felt as if his head would explode, but his heart would burst first.  He looked around to make sure no one was staring as he got up from the table and ran out of the door, neglecting to even pay his bill.

JongUp watched as a tall, handsome man left the restaurant and crossed in front of his window. He turned around to see a really tall, but strangely young-looking boy sitting a few tables away. His face was bright red and he was breathing heavily. “JongUp?” He turned his attention to the girl standing in front of him, “I’m Minzy! Nice to meet you!” She was cute, but not his style. She sat down and began chattering away immediately. He just nodded his head and agreed with everything she said. Over Minzy’s shoulder, he saw the boy from earlier run out of the restaurant. From the window, he watched as he ran to the nearby bus stop. He looked to where the boy was sitting and his glasses were still sitting on the table. “Excuse me, but I have to go!” He got up from the table abruptly. He grabbed the glasses and sprinted for the bus stop. When he arrived, the boy’s nose was running and his face was blotchy. “Excuse me?” He looked up at JongUp with big, glassy eyes. JongUp put the glasses in his hand and smiled, “You forgot these.” He looked down at his hand, “Oh…Thank you,” he mumbled. Just then, the bus pulled up and people began getting on. The crying boy turned to leave, when he grabbed his wrist. JongUp took off his scarf and wrapped it around the boy, covering his nose, “There. Now, if you put your glasses on, no one will know you were crying.” He thought the boy was going to start crying again, but what he received instead was the most adorable eye smile he’d ever seen. “This is yours… how will I ever return it?” JongUp ruffled his hair, “My name and number is stitched into the label. Get it back to me when you don’t need it anymore.” He nodded and got on the bus.
