personality: Dayoung, like all girls, has a sweet and bubbly personality. She is also hyper, enthusiastic and a girl who never backs out in any challenges. Two words to describe her, "simple and mature", because in the way she dresses, acts and talks, she appears to be mature, simple and confident. She sometimes acts like a 10-year old elementary school kid, but shows her serious side when focusing on something. She accepts defeat, but promises to work hard next time. And she never disappoints them, she really puts great effort on something and keeps her promises. She is daring, in a way that when she is in a zoo, she holds snakes, lizards and the like. Her laugh is super infectious because the time she started laughing, the people around her will laugh one by one. She is a shikshin, it's weird that inspite of her too much eating, her body is still in shape.

She has a long temper. She can control her emotions and act cooly when in public. But expect her to burst it all on a pillow when she is home. She is friendly, she communicates well with new people around her and they will be friends after. She shows her dorkiness on and off cam, but she never gets embarassed. She sometimes becomes clueless, earning her the title "The Clueless Dork". She always say that she has no aegyo and when she does one, it appears failed. But according to her friends, Dayoung doesn't fail on showing an aegyo.

She doesn't easily gets angry, because of her ability of controlling her emotions. But when she does, she never makes it obvious. Instead, she eats a lot. She hates being scared, it makes her burst in tears. And when she cries, it would take almost 50 minutes to calm her down. One thing to calm her down is ice cream popsicles, especially chocolate-flavored one, that would definitely cool her down. Dayoung likes skinships a lot, but it depends on the person she is with. She can be wild sometimes, but rarely shows it to everyone.

background: Dayoung's family simply lives in a 2-story house at the streets of Seoul. Her family owned a pastry shop and a mini grocery store. When her sister became a idol performer, Dayoung felt the urge of following her sister's steps. Her mother, doesn't approve on her decision, but lately agrees on the decision. But Dayoung made a promise that when she finished high school, she will audition. Two weeks after their graduation, her mother let her audition.

how did you get in?: She sent a video of herself dancing to Kara's Step on the agency's official website. After 2 weeks, she recieved a message from them that she needed to have an on-the-spot audition. She went in the agency's building and sang Taeyeon's Closer and danced to Miss A's Bad Girl Good Girl. With that, she got accepted.

trainee years: 2 years at SM Entertainment, 1 year at Starship and 1 year at Illuminate.

background: Dayoung's trainee life is VERY harsh, but fun in the end. She got bullied many times by the trainees when she is in SM Ent. She left after two years of her training. Her sister, Dasom, suggested that Dayoung should try auditioning at Starship. Her 1 year training there were the same also, she didn't expect that she would experience the same thing. She left after that. Then a friend recommended her that she should try auditioning at the new agency, "Illuminate Entertainment". At first, she was scared to try again because she may experience the bullying issues again, but she remembered her promise to her sister that she will be an idol just like her so she tried auditioning. Then she got accepted and trained for 1 year, her trainee life at Illuminate changed. She is not bullied anymore, she made new friends and she enjoyed every single second of the day.
