Chapter 17 from I Lied That!

This is the missing chapter from when there was that server maintenence a few weeks back.

After you left, the lady continued staring at you. She picked up her phone and called someone.

“Yes... that friend of yours… I suggest you up the ante.”

She frowned as she moved the phone over to the other ear.

“I suggest since you are already in Korea, you can just make your debut already. Get yourself at least a few steps ahead. Your problem is no longer my problem… sweet cheeks.”

The lady smirked as she hung up.

~~~~~Fiona’s POV~~~~~
“Your problem is no longer my problem… sweet cheeks.”
“Hello? Hello?!”
Did she just hang up on me?! How dare she… What does she mean I up the ante? Why do people have to be mysterious for? That’s so stupid! Argh!
I calmed myself down as I tried to figure out my next move. I have about six more months so I have to make good use of it. I tapped my fingers on the desk impatiently, waiting for a plan to pop into my head.
I was so angry at the stupid witch that her words kept replaying in my head and every time I had something extra to say to her.
You can just make your debut already.”
Which is something I should do!  I have to debut, then I would be able to see Kris more and he’ll eventually detest Jenny and be infatuated with me.
I quickly got up from my chair and opened my closet and pulled several boxes out of the way before I saw my special bowl with the special knife inside. I picked up the bowl and placed it on my bed. I sighed as I tried to think of a ‘literal’ way of saying this so that it won’t back fire on me.
Tugging out the necklace from beneath my shirt, I grabbed the pendant and threw it into the bowl. I picked up the knife and held out my palm as I went over the words to the spell. I put the knife into my palm and pressed down really hard until my skin broke. I let the blood drip into the bowl as I prepared to get ready to say what I want.
“I will have the most spectacular debut of this year with the best song and choreography.”
I WILL have the most spectacular debut.
~~~~~End of Fiona’s POV~~~~~

---------Two weeks later-----------

~~~~~Your POV~~~~~
Filming for the drama had resumed and I wasn’t sure whether this was a good thing or not. B.A.P’s has only been promoting for two weeks and I have been practising for our debut. Literally, we’ve been training from 4pm to 11pm or midnight. The practise room has officially been dubbed as our second dorm. I’m just worried for our two maknaes… lack of sleep can stump the growth…
I decided to remove my attention from that stressful situation and took out my phone to read some KpopExpress.
Title: YG releases teaser for new solo artist.
A solo artist debuting from YG Entertainment... Awesome! I love YG. Wait… am I allowed to say that?
YG Entertainment has released a debut teaser for their newest soloist, Fiona.
Fiona? As in my Fiona? I happily scrolled down on the page.
YG Entertainment released a few photos and a video on Fiona’s official Facebook Page and YouTube Channel. Fiona is YG’s first non-Korean artist, coming all the way from Australia apparently possesses amazing vocals that could challenge label mate Park Bom. Check out her teaser below and leave us comments on what you think about her?
I took this opportunity to put in a few good words for her and to correct the netizens who were harsh on Fiona.
I smiled as I looked at her teaser photos. So she’s going with the angel look. That really suits her, not the current image I have of her but before, yeah, this would have suited her really well.
“What are you so happy about?” Zelo asked me.
“My friend is debuting as a YG artist,” I said proudly.
“Seriously? That is so cool!”
You smiled as I nodded my head, “She hasn’t even been training for that long. Last time we chatted was two weeks ago and that was when I found out she made it.”
“Two weeks of training?! That is impressive.”
“Eung. She is definitely something.”
“So what about you? You sure you aren’t musical?”
I laughed as I pointed at myself, “Me? Musically talented? I don’t know… I can act?”
“Aye… that’s not good enough!” said Ken as he sat down next to Zelo.
“Exactly,” Zelo agreed.
“Didn’t your company train you in singing or rapping or dance?” Ken asked.
Maybe I should sing a tiny bit.
“I’ll sing a bit.”
“I’ll judge your singing.”
I stuck out my tongue in a nervous manner.
“Hana, deul, set,” Ken and Zelo counted.
I took in a deep breath and prepared myself to sing VIXX’s song ‘Superhero’.
V-I-X-X neoreul wiihan Hero
V-I-X-X bimilseureon naye Him
Boyeojulke Like a star
Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh, Oh
Pariseseo
*Ken joins in* (Mwodeunji ganeunghae)
Neoye sangsangeul
*Ken joins in* (Ije shijagil ppunya)
Achil, achil Fantastic
Wonhaneun sesangeuro naraga
Nan modeun geol da jul su itjanha mwol wonhae
Neon nal mideo Oh
I stopped singing and Zelo clapped his hands with a cute expression on his face.
“So I’m good?”
“You have the voice.”
I smiled, “Thank you.”
“Jenny, why are you an actress?”
Because my company wants to show that I’m just looks. Seriously, I am proof that SM Entertainment doesn’t choose based on looks, they choose based on magic… at least they didn’t kick me out.
~~~~~End of your POV~~~~~

Title: Choi Min Soo shows a fatherly image for his latest drama, “Psych!” + seeing Jenny for the first time.

Zelo has recently updated his Twitter with a post with a picture of himself and co-stars Choi Min Soo and SM’s newest actress, Jenny for the upcoming drama “Psych” with the caption, “Choi Min Soo sunbae, this image… it’s a bit different from what we saw on Running Man…”. The photo shows Choi Min Soo posing with Zelo, Jenny and Ken giving off a more ‘cute and cuddly’ image than when he was on Running Man ‘grasshopper hunting’. Fans also noted that this is the first time that Jenny’s face has been revealed.

Fans commented saying, “So he’s not scary”, “Where was this when he was grasshopper hunting?”, “Everyone looks so cute here!”, “Finally get to see Jenny!” and “I think this love triangle might be the end of me…”

~~~~~Fiona’s POV~~~~~
“Today we actually have a rookie artist with experienced talent, Fiona!” the interviewer announced.
I put on a smile and bowed my head, “Anneonghaseyo, Fiona-imnida.”
“Fiona-sshi, you have debuted for two weeks now, how has it been?”
I moved my head towards the mic, “It has been surreal. I have gotten so much support from YG and I couldn’t ask for more.”
That’s right, because I ask for everything.
“Neh, your debut song is titled ‘Take Me to Prom’.”
I nodded my head, “That is correct.”
“And the music video for it was truly spectacular; there were computer-animations, colourful sets and the costumes were customised. How much of your character for the music video can you relate with?”
“Everything,” I answered bluntly.
I noticed the atmosphere got a quite awkward so I laughed, “It’s actually kind of like my life story. I have always loved thinking about going to ‘prom’ which we called ‘formal’ in Australia so when I heard the title, it was strange for me.”
“So you started off saying then you loved thinking of going to the… ‘formal’. What were you thinking about? Finding the right date? Finding the right dress?”
I nodded my head, “I wanted to find the right date. I think that it’s very important that you find the right person to go to the dance with. The formal is a very important thing. It’s no good going alone.”
I frowned as I remembered back to my year 10 formal.
----------Flashback----------
I shook Jenny’s arm as I pleaded her to come formal with me. I can’t go by myself. It’s embarrassing.
“I’m sorry Fiona but I already told you at the start of this year and last year as well. I am not going.”
“Please? I want to enjoy the night with my best friend.”
“You can! I’m having a movie marathon at my place. There’s no dress code so come looking as whatever you please.”
I whined as I pouted, “Come on, let’s go formal.”
“Fiona. If I wanted to sweat in a dress that I spent forever to find and eat food with servings so small that I would end up buying McDonald’s afterwards – wait, I don’t want to.”
“Jenny, come with me,” I said in an assertive tone.
“I already said that I didn’t want to go. I told you that I didn’t want to waste money. I told you not to force me into this so you should back down. I have never shown this kind of pushiness towards you. You shouldn’t be doing it either. We’re friends, Fiona, not followers,” Jenny stared at me before walking off.
----------End of flashback----------
“You seem upset…”
“My formal experience was lonely,” I let out a small laugh, “I didn’t have a date so that’s why I think that have at date is important.”
“What about friends? Many teenagers go to proms or formals together.”
I shook my head, “My friend didn’t want to go because she found it expensive.”
“How much did it cost?”
“Well dresses were around $100, hiring the venue and food was $130 and hair and make-up was about $70.”
The interviewer laughed, “Your friend is very wise then.”
“It was unfortunate that I had to go alone. If only I could go with my friends from Korea.”
“You had friends from Korea?”
I nodded my head, “Neh, my friend is Kris from EXO-M.”
Take that Jenny.
“Really? That is so cool. How long have you been friends?”
“We’ve been friends for… I don’t know. It’s been a while,” I smiled innocently.
The interviewer eyed me as if she was suspecting that Kris and I were more than friends which was good for me. Suspect all you want. It’s these scandals that bring artists closer together.
Jenny, if my assumptions are correct and you really do like Kris, I’ll not only be stealing your best friend but also your boyfriend.
~~~~~End of Fiona’s POV~~~~~

~~~~~Your POV~~~~~
Today we’re filming the music video for our debut song and I am totally stoked. I seriously can’t believe that we’ll be debuting in two months. There’s going to be a crew here today filming our making-of video so I hope I don’t do something embarrassing because it would be remembered forever…
I jumped off the van and noticed the cameras. I quickly bowed to the camera man.
“Girls, we need you to do the introduction.”
We stood together in front of the camera.
“Hana, deul, set,” Shin Ah shouted out.
“Anneonghaseyo, we are Alpha!” we bowed in unison.
The members turned to me all of a sudden and my eyes widened as I interpreted what they were thinking. Crap, what do say? Urgh…
“Neh, today Alpha is filming the music video for our song, ‘Nice Girl’ that we have all composed and written so please anticipate it.” I nodded my head.
“Okay, the introduction is done; we need the girls into make-up and wardrobe,” said Sammie’s manager.
~~~~~~~~~

I was listening to my iPod as I was waiting for the other members to get their hair and make-up done when a camera came right up at my face. I smile and bowed politely, “Anneonghaseyo, we meet again.”

“Would mind introducing yourself?” the writer asked me.

I smiled and waved that camera, “Anneonghaseyo, I am Alpha’s rapper and official mascot, Jenny-imnida.”

“What are you doing right now?”

“I’m listening to our song and waiting for the other members.”

“Are you the leader of Alpha?”

Me? The leader? I don’t know…

“We haven’t thought about whose the leader yet... whoops. Maybe we’ll decide after we shoot the music video.”

I turned to Shin Ah who was getting her make-up done and poked her arm, “Unni, we haven’t decided a leader yet.”

“Oh! We haven’t had we? That’s the most fundamental thing in a group and we haven’t done it.” Shin Ah laughed and I joined in.

“What’s the concept of the music video?” the writer asked

“Um… Frustration,” I let out a small laugh, “Our song is about a girl who gets dumped by her boyfriend for another girl and the other girl isn’t as ‘nice’ as the boyfriend sees her.”

“You said the members wrote the song, has anyone experienced this break up?”

“I don’t think any of us has dated yet,” I covered my mouth as I laughed.

“Did you know that you have a male cast today?”

“Cast? As in there’s more than one?”

The writer covered in shy manner.

“The way writer unni is smiling, they’re good looking aren’t they? Aren’t they?”

I saw Kris approaching me in the mirror and I immediately crossed my arms and sighed. Seriously, of all people to be paired up with… who came up with this idea? That person and I need to talk.

“Be nice to him, we don’t need any of this drama caught on camera,” Shin Ah whispered in my ear as she walked off to get changed.

“Jenny!”

“Kris!”

We did a really strange handshake and as soon as we finished, I noticed that Kris was just as confused as I was. When did we do this handshake?

“I can’t believe you’re actually debuting,” Kris smiled at me which was probably the most uncomfortable thing I’ve ever seen.

“Thank you,” I smiled, aware that the camera was directed at us.

I kept my eye on the cameraman until he walked away to film the other members.

My facial expression quickly changed, why did the company choose EXO-M?

“The only views your MV is going to get is for EXO-M.”

I let out a laugh of disbelief, “Whoa! Did you say that because you meant it or were you trying to provoke an argument from me?”

Kris shrugged, “I don’t know? Let’s just say that you’re not exactly the best person in the group.”

“And I’m not trying to be,” I defended myself, “I’m trying to be the best person I can be. And why are you always starting problems with me? Was it because of me that you didn’t quite reach 190cm? Is that why you’re holding a grudge against me?”

I looked at Kris sympathetically, “Don’t worry. I was robbed of my few centimetres too. I’m only 165cm…”

I let out a small sigh as I put my hand on Kris’ shoulder, “It’s okay… I feel your pain.”

Kris pinched my wrist and flicked my arm away, “You’re right. You will always be SHORT and I will always be TALL.”

Aww… hell no. Did he just call me short? He is going to get it.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It is so exhausting; we’ve been filming the music video for 10 hours straight now. I need something more exciting than our choreography which we danced to more than 35 times. If I keep listening to our song, it’s going to start to sound strange to me. Despite the exhaustion, here we all are, preparing to film for the final scene for the music video which I heard from Kwangsoo is going to be fun.
“Everyone, please assemble on set.”
“Transformers assemble!” I shouted out.
“Yeah!” shouted Sammie as she grabbed my hand and we both went running onto the set.
“I would like to apologise on behalf of the two foreigner unnis,” I heard Min Jung say to the camera.
 “We’ve got water balloons!” Tao shouted out.
“Seriously?” I looked over to where Tao was standing and saw the huge bucket filled with water balloons and my eyes lit up.
Finally something fun! I ran up to the bucket and reached out for a water balloon when someone moved in front of me and pushed my hand away. I looked up and saw Kris standing right in front of me. He turned around and smirked before bending down so that we were at eye-level.
“In this war, I win,” he picked up the water balloon and threw it up in the air.
I narrowed my eyes at him, “Well, I don’t know about that since only Alpha will be throwing the water balloons.”
Kris’ eyes widened as I smiled at him, and with great timing, I caught the water balloon that Kris threw up.
“Okay Alpha, you know what to do. Throw the water balloons!” commanded EXO-M’s manager.
“NEH!” us girls shouted out in unison.
“EXO, please stay inside the set and please, no laughing from the boys. Alpha please refrain to throwing to your designated boy.”
I looked up at Kris and smirked, “I guess you being tall mean I have a less chance of missing you. Isn’t it good that you’ll ALWAYS BE TALL?”
“And… action!”
I smiled widely as I looked up, “Bless you, SM Entertainment.”
Kris ran away to the other side of the set along with the other EXO-M members. I was like that machine that shoots out tennis balls; my throws were not merciful in the slightest bit. I just kept throwing at Kris and as bad as this sounds, I enjoyed the facial expressions that Kris produced. I glanced over at Shin Ah who also seemed to enjoy pegging the water balloons at Luhan.
I was just mindlessly throwing water balloons as I looked at the Ji Hae gracelessly throwing the water balloon, it seemed more like dancing than it was throwing a water balloon.
“Argh!” I heard Kris shout out.
I sharply turned to see Kris lying on the ground in the foetal position and Lay and Tao laughing their heads off.
“Oh, what’s wrong?” Chen ran to Kris followed by everyone else. We gathered around Kris to see him holding his… oh… I see… I threw the water balloon at Kris’ ‘family jewels’.
A small chuckle escaped my mouth.
“Hyung, you okay?”
Kris hissed as he tried to sit up.
Xiumin let out a hearty laugh as he picked up a water balloon next to Kris, “The water balloon didn’t even break!”
The boys let out a sympathetic sigh. Gosh… I feel so bad. I bent down and grabbed Kris’ arm, “I am so sorry! Here, let me help you up.”
I heard giggles from Luhan who helped me in getting Kris to stand up.
“So… do you an ice-pack for that?”
“Jenny, can you take Kris off the set? The director said that we got enough footage of you two for the music video already,” said Kris’ manager.
“Neh. I’m really sorry.”
“Oh, it’s doesn’t matter. We’re done anyways. Just grab a hairdryer and join in with the stylists to dry him off.”
I nodded my head, “Neh.”
Kris waddled off and I ran up to him and nudged him, “Do you want to do a raincheck on that ‘win’ of yours?”
