What Makes A Story Interesting

Many people seem to think that if a person has awesome grammar and spelling that the authors story is going to be good...but that's not always the case here now.

I've read stories from succesful published books to fanfic writers who may not have the best grammar or vocab ever, but what interested me was the story and the characters. You can have the best grammar ever, but if your story is too flat and boring I won't read it. Which reminds me I need to work on my emotions for my characters when I write stories XD But yeah anywho: Just because you have the best grammar around on this site, if your story bores me...I won't read it sorry.

People don't look for stories usually based on the grammar (I may get flames for this one but it's my opinion so you don't have to agree with me.) what they look for is how good the story is. What interests me in a fanfiction or a book are the characters and the plot, I could care less how good the authors grammar is I mean if I can understand the words and the plot it's all good and if they don't write in chatspeak.

So your grammar is perfect or decent good for you.

But remember reviewers...don't bring someone else down because their grammar isn't perfect instead bring that person up and encourage them :)

there are four types of stories i had read before.
1.) stories with good grammar but flat stories=boring
2.) stories with bad grammar but good stories
3.) stories with bad grammar AND bad story
4.)stories with good grammar AND good story=AWESOME!

Yeah, I've read stories with terrible grammar but i loved the plot so I read all of it and I've come across the stories with beautiful grammar but were boring. I totally agree with you

Well yes grammar isn't everything, but even if I'm reading a really great story with a great plot but the grammar and the spelling makes me cringe, I can't read it.
So you need a good balance of both. ^_^
But yeah, I try to spazz out on my reviews when I can...probably why I take so long XD
