Style: Kyung Mi opts for comfort over fashion. She's content to wear over-sized shirts and tank tops paired with skinny jeans. She always wears her beat-up tennis shoes, unless the occasion calls for high heels. Her casual style doesn't mean she doesn't look out for her appearance. She is careful to make sure she's presentable, but refuses to wear anything that she doesn't feel comfortable in. At home, she dresses more sloppily, but takes care to not look too much like a slob in front of her non-biological parents, who prize immaculate appearances.

"Let's Get to Know Each Other"

Personality: Kyung Mi is a girl with goals and dreams. She strives to fulfill them in any way that she can. Once her mind is set to accomplish something, nothing will stop her, except her insecurities which get in the way at times. These insecurities were borne from her abandonment and have haunted her ever since. At times, Kyung Mi will lose herself to these insecurities and question everything about her life. During these episodes, it's hard to free her from them, but once they're over, she'll become the confident and strong girl who grew up from the ashes of the aloof little girl who was abandoned.

                          Kyung Mi is not a social girl, but as the girls' varsity tennis team captain, she makes it her job to welcome the new players onto the team. Because she does not have many friends, Kyung Mi is extremely protective of the few companions that she has. She'll guard their secrets with her life and bail them out of any troubling situations they find themselves in. Kyung Mi can sometimes be a bit of a pushover because of her extreme generosity. She'll always serve others before herself, even if she's running late for an appointment or meeting. However, Kyung Mi hates people who break promises or lose her trust. She has never forgotten how easily her biological mother cast her aside and feels utter disdain for people like her.

Family members {Siblings}: Kim Ryeowook || 06/21/93 || 19 || College Student || Ryeowook is a considerate young chap. He's very sensitive to others' feelings and will always put his loved ones before himself. He is not easily angered and is always ready to forgive others for their mistakes. Ryeowook is also an expert wheedler and can get what he wants quite easily. However, he will never do anything that will harm another person, even if it means he will be hurt or punished in the end. Ryeowook will willingly sacrifice his own happiness if doing so will bring infinitely more happiness to the people he loves and cares about.

Family background: Kyung Mi was born in Seoul, Korea to a Chinese mother, Chen An Zhen, and a Korean father, Son Tae Guk. An Zhen met Tae Guk in Beijing and the two fell in love at first sight. They got married about three months after they met, moved to Seoul in another five months, and Kyung Mi was born one year later. Three months after Kyung Mi's birth, An Zhen and Kyung Mi moved to Beijing so An Zhen's parents could help take care of the precocious child. Tae Guk stayed behind in Seoul because of his job. Seven months after his wife and his daughter left, Tae Guk met another woman and committed an act of infidelity by living with her for the next four years without telling An Zhen. On Kyung Mi's fourth birthday, An Zhen decided to surprise Tae Guk with a visit from his wife and his daughter. However, An Zhen walked in on her husband and his lover having an intense makeout session. In her despair and rage, An Zhen ran out of the house and cast out Kyung Mi, who reminded the mother of her failed relationship, onto the streets. A kind woman found Kyung Mi and brought her to the orphanage, where she lived for the next three years.

                                           After Kyung Mi turned seven years old, the Kim family adopted her and brought her to their home. At first, she was wary of trusting them, especially the boy who was one year older than her. There was also a language barrier that separated Kyung Mi from the Kim family. She did not know very much Korean, despite living in the orphanage for three years, because she rarely socialized with anyone there. Fortunately, the Kims proved to be a loving, caring family and taught the young girl valuable life lessons, despite all of the obstacles that appeared along the way. Kyung Mi changed into a stronger, surer individual and decided to follow her non-biological parents into the medical field. She wanted to give back to the community that had been so kind to her and helped her during her darkest moments.

Which plot?: Life of the Lonely

Hey, Chingu!

Friends: Kang Minhyuk || 18 || 06/28/94 || CNBlue || Minhyuk is a soft-spoken introvert. He'd rather focus on his studies than socialize with his peers. As a result, whenever he does interact with other people at social gatherings or in the classroom, he becomes quite awkward and bashful. Minhyuk feels most comfortable around people when he's tutoring other students or studying with other hard-working students.

                  Kwon Sohyun || 18 || 08/30/94 || 4minute || Sohyun is gregarious and loves to make new friends. She can easily break with ice with her straightforward manner and her funny jokes. If she meets aloof, shy people, Sohyun will make it her personal mission to becomes friends with them, in hopes of helping them become more outgoing. However, she cannot stand rude, sassy people who form cliques, because she believes that everyone should be treated equally.

                  Han Seungyeon || 18 || 07/24/94 || Kara || Seungyeon is a very competitive individual who plays tennis. She never backs down from a challenge and will strive to do her best to win. Although she feels bitter whenever she does lose, Seungyeon is careful to mask her true feelings through good sportsmanship. She always maintains a sunny disposition and learns from her mistakes so that she will prevail the next time.

The "Best" friend: Lee Junho || 18 || 01/25/94 || 2PM || Junho is a free-spirited fellow who loves to have fun. He enjoys life and all of its surprises, never stresses about school and extracurriculars, and takes care to never involve himself in drama, especially girl drama. Junho is also a great listener and gives handy advice to those who need it. On the tennis court, he becomes more serious and less carefree, but after the match is over, he'll revert back to his easy-going self.

Rivals: Park Jiyeon || 18 || 06/07/94 || T-ara || Jiyeon is a smart-aleck with a saucy mouth. She will say rude, hurtful things to others so that they lose the will to continue working hard. As the only child of a CEO of a large company, she does have a lot of pressure to be the number one student in school so that she will be prepared to inherit the business. However, when she gets too stressed, Jiyeon will lash out at innocent people for no reason. || Ever since their freshman year in high school, Kyung Mi and Jiyeon have battled for the number one ranking. Jiyeon was used to being the top student from her days in middle school, so when Kyung Mi beat her for three years in a row, Jiyeon made it her mission to make her rival's life miserable. She would spread rumors about Kyung Mi through the school newspaper under the alias, Madam J, or turn the underclassmen on the tennis team against Kyung Mi through bribes and false promises. Kyung Mi would ignore these taunts and put on a brave facade to mask the pain of being trash-talked. She would use this anger to motivate herself to study harder and to play better so that she would graduate with no regrets.

How are you in school?: Kyung Mi is a straight-A student, knowing that in order to pursue her dream career as an orthopedic surgeon, she must have good grades. She is also the captain of the girls' varsity tennis team, which has improved her leadership skills. She's not very popular, as she'd rather spend time to cultivate the few friendships that she has. In memory of being abandoned, she's wary of establishing new connections and afraid to lose the ones she's made.

Boy, I Need a Boy...

Love interest: Kim Ryeowook

Age & Birthday: 19 || 06/21/93

Current status: close friends

How did you guys meet?: When Kyung Mi was adopted into the family, Ryeowook took her under his wing and cared for her as if they were biological siblings. Whenever Kyung Mi had nightmares during the night, Ryeowook would always be right by her side to soothe and comfort her throughout the night. The two of them formed a close bond and for a while, Kyung Mi only trusted her new brother. After a year, Ryeowook decided that she also needed to make new friends and become more outgoing, so he introduced her to the sport of tennis, which led her to meet Junho who also played tennis. When the two siblings grew older, Ryeowook began to feel awkward hanging out with Kyung Mi, who began to confide more in Junho than in her older brother. His feelings for her began to blossom and he decided that it would be best to find other girls who could rid these feelings, so that an even larger gap would not come between him and his adopted sister.

Back up love interest: Kim Kibum (Key)

Age & Birthday: 19 || 09/23/93

Current status: friends

How did you guys meet?: When Kyung Mi was adopted into the family, Key initially scorned the fact that he wouldn't be the baby  of the family any longer. He used to torment her with pranks and tricks to try to convince her that she should not have joined his family. Mr. Kim caught wind of this after a few months of this childish torture and gently reprimanded his son, trying to make Key understand the pain and loneliness that Kyung Mi felt after being abandoned. Key agreed to stop with the pranks and treat her more nicely. As the two siblings grew older, Key witnessed Kyung Mi's transformation from the scared, aloof, and withdrawn little girl who he utterly disliked to the confident, strong, and trustworthy younger sister who he could depend on. However, knowing that Junho was a better support system than he was for Kyung Mi made Key restrict himself to only being friends with his adopted sister and try to find other girls to love, even though he longed to call Kyung Mi his own.
