Fate will save Us

The room emitted an eeire stillness. The only sound in the background was that of the television playing. The five of them stood, all in a circle. Three of them nearest the door clutched their suitcases, the other two watched.

"So, I guess this is it," Yunho spoke slowly afraid his voice would cave in.

"You don't have to stay hyung," Junsu said to him. Yunho winced at the word hyung. Changmin eyed Yunho as if asking him with a glance what he would do.

"You can still come with us if you want." Yoochun agreed swallowing afterwards. "Nothing's set in concrete yet."

"No," Yunho felt bitter but his mind was overpowering the strength in his heart. "This is what we decided and we won't change our minds. You three are welcome to leave." Junsu looked hurt, Yoochun followed suit. Jaejoong seemed to have had the air knocked out of his lungs. His closest friend not only in age but also in mindset and emotions was letting them go. It was like he didn't care, or didn't want to see their faces anymore.

He had to confirm this. "Can you guys leave me and Yunho-ah alone for a bit?" The other two who were taking the same path as Jaejoong solemnly agreed.

"I guess this is it," they took out their hands to Yunho. "Goodbye," but Yunho pushed past their hands to hug the two of them heartily. Changmin let them hug him, or the shell of him. He didn't feel like he was physically there.

"Bye Junsu, Yoochun." he choked on the words, eyes starting to burn. He squeezed them tight as Jaejoong hugged him. The maknae pushed him away when he couldn't take anymore of it. He left to go to the other end of the dorms. Yoochun and Junsu opened the front door. Them closing it signalled the time for Jaejoong and Yunho to clarify for what could be the last time how each of them felt for each other.

"Hyung," Yunho could feel his throat close up. "This isn't right."

"But it is for us," Jaejoong retorted in a soft voice. "You're too loyal Yunho-ah, that is why you're staying."

"The fans are going to be hurt," Yunho said. "They won't understand."

"Then let them not," Jaejoong replied. "But let us never seperate." He shuffled his hand in his jean pocket taking out a piece of loose red string. Yunho watched as his hyung asked for a hand. With clumsy actions Jaejoong tied the string around Yunho's wrist.

"If you and I both wear this, then we will have never really split." He clutched Yunho's hand, the action making heat flow through both of their hands. "We'll be together even when we are in different countries, different companies and different mindsets. This through fate will bring us back together." Yunho lifted his hand. The string hung loose.

"Hyung," Yunho couldn't say anymore before Jaejoong embraced his friend. Yunho remained rigid as Jaejoong's body shook, from the realisation of them parting and the grief of the whole situation. Yunho bowed his head, returning the gesture with bittersweet emotions.

"Never take it off." Jaejoong begged with his voice tight. "Promise me Yunho-ah." Yunho didn't know if he could. It would be hard to explain to the company why he would have such a thing on.

"I promise," for that was the least he could do. Jaejoong showed him the strand around his own wrist and Yunho saw that he wasn't just being melodramatic. Jaejoong nodded, the hair on the nape of Yunho's neck. His friend struggled to not flinch at the sensual touch.

"I really love you Yunho," Jaejoong had always said that he loved him but today it was different. Yunho hung his head down, crestfallen. Jaejoong took it as his signal to leave. While the door slowly closed behind his friend, the husky voiced vocalist of TVXQ and soon to be a member of JYJ Yunho opened his mouth, letting three words slip out. "Same here hyung."
