A Deeper Look

What was your life before entering ProvidenceAcademy? Previously, all she knew was medicine, tests, and knowledge about subjects. With a status of a test subject, she was made to undergo the different experiments.  It was never painless. She would always be writhing in pain after each long and cruel experiment. A cold and silent cell never failed to welcome her each day. When she was first brought here, other fellow experimented people resided there too. However, those friends slowly disappeared by dying, leaving only one boy and her alive. The experiments were too much for their bodies, they gave up eventually. Ever since then, she has always been alone in the cell called ‘home’.

When those experimenters were put in jail at last, her freedom was granted. The last remaining boy she had grown close to, escaped before he was taken to safety. Taken in by a family, she finally got a real life. The first step she took into her new life was attending this Academy. Memories of her life before being experimented on is very hazy, she has no complete recollection of her real birth family. All she knew was her birth name and ethnicity. Nothing else. Though still awkward with communicating and relationships, her family helped teach her all over again. She timidly learnt manners, ways of speaking, how to cope with relationships, basically life skills needed. To her, her adoptive family is really understanding and loving. Thus, bonding with members of the family was quite an easy task to accomplish.

 

How did you end up at Providence Academy? The Chairman had received news of the latest experimenters being put behind bars. Reports had mentioned rumours of an experimented female still surviving. She was placed in a renowned family who was willing to adopt. Those rumours were confirmed when one of the higher-ups of mutants sent him a letter, regarding the enrollment of the experiment. The Chairman had no choice but to agree, not as if he did not want a new student.

Days later, she received a letter. Written on it was an invitation for a test to allow her enrollment. Her parents drove her to the academy. It was a test to find out how intelligent one was and was what applicants to the academy had to take. Surprisingly or not, she was the first one to ever score full marks. She was accepted as a new student since then.

 

Background:
Birth family | Her family was all murdered the day she was captured. The massacre was carried out just to retrieve her. The higher-ups covered the genuine situation as accidental. All the members of the family had their bodies slashed apart, the assassins even took the initiative to place a fake Emiko at the scene, so no one would suspect she disappeared. When the family was still alive, they held onto a renowned status and were greatly respected. They often did charity and helped others with their set of powers.

Adoptive family | They were as equally powerful as her birth family, but was more recognized in the human world. The members were all closely bonded with each other. Each had different powers, useful in both everyday life and during battle. Parents of the family met while on blind dates, ridiculous some may find. Their relationship grew from that first meeting, first conversation. Months passed, he finally popped the question to her. Their marriage was held a few days after. Three years had gone by when a child was born. He was a male. Since then, for who-know-what reasons, the couple had no desire for another child.

silence is golden | If no questions are directed at her, she keeps as silent as space. Her silence sometimes hides her presence from others. She does not dare to voice her opinions; she’d rather go along with the majority. Reason being she is still awkward with conversations. Moreover, she was also trained not to utter a single sound during her experiment days. Habits die hard. Hence, she remains really silent, even though she knows she should speak up sometimes.

desire for loneliness | Her method of escaping interaction problems is to stay away from people. She would love nothing better than to just bask in silence, alone. She won’t have to do anything. Being around others would mean she needed to talk. She doesn’t exactly want to do that. Attempts to avoid crowds are usually successful, but not when she tries to avoid her family. Occasionally, she slyly slips away from groups while conversations are going on.

truth about emotions | The constant experimentations have built a wall around a drawer, the drawer in which hides her real emotions. She believes that even if you cry or throw a tantrum, life still goes on. Before being rescued, she was practically a robot without feelings. However, a human can never remain a robot for long. Now, the wall has grown old and some parts are broken. She reveals some of her emotions to her family now, a major improvement from when they just met. Like any other female, she has a motherly side to her. She would want to take care of injuries, show care and concern. But, she does not dare to do so.

everything is perfect | She’s quite the perfectionist, I must say. Grades and the little things she does everyday loudly scream how much of a perfectionist she is. She always gets the best grades, full marks in every subject. Though that isn’t much of a problem for how, seeing how a great amount of information was inserted into her brain as one of the experiments. This trait is believed to have been inherited from her parents, seeing how she makes whatever she does everyday as perfect as it could be.

manners are important | Her elegant manners are the cause of the rumours saying she is a descendant of a royal family. For some reason, she places great emphasis on etiquette. Her impression of others is always based on how they show themselves, how good-mannered they’re. She is very polite, it is highly unlikely that she’ll be rude. Respect is shown from her to everyone else, no exceptions. Considerate of others, she constantly reminds herself to think of others before herself. Yes, it’s always others first, her second. This often causes her family to worry about her, since she doesn’t really care about herself.

temperament | A bad temper? Her? No way. She has been trained to become an extremely patient female. Wait ‘til the cows come home, yet she would not even mind. Majority would have already been blowing their top off, steam would have come out from their ears. Also, she wouldn’t want arguments to occur, seeing how she is a peace-lover. If she is involved in one, she will decide to let the other party do whatever they want so as to please them. She’d rather do that then start a fight.

Powers:

×  illusions are mystifying | This ability of hers came from birth and was not implanted into her. It allows the user to create magnificent illusions for various reasons. Whatever the user wants to create, it will appear as an illusion. Illusions can be differentiated into three categories based on their qualities. Category ‘C’ is where the delusional images can be seen through easily. This is common for mutants who do not bother training. Category ‘B’ is where most mutants holding this ability are in. It has become common to see a category ‘B’ illusion during fights. Users in this category train hard, but just do not really understand this ability. Finally, category ‘A’. It is where Emiko is placed in. This category is only for illusions with the highest grade. Their illusions have to be very realistic, so realistic other illusionist won’t be able to see through them. Scientists have instilled a device into her body which helps to turn the false appearances into reality.

×  die at my will | It can be considered as a dark ability. Allowing its user to drain life from anything at will, it is absolutely a dangerous type of magic. This power was the outcome of one of the experiments. Emiko is the only one with this power, as it cannot be gained through a family bloodline. With this harmful ability, many would want it. It could be used to murder enemies, take over the world and the list goes on. The good thing about this power is that it allows to user to take in life energy, and enables the energy collected to be dispersed into another being. If the being is living, it will gain more energy and heal faster. But, if it is not living, it will revive or come to life. Also, this power will not take place unless the user wants it to by chanting a short sentence, ‘give me your life, go to the other world’.

×  Choi ‘TOP’ Seunghyun | Big Bang | Prefect of House of Hydra | Alike with the personality of many others in the House of Hydra, he has an easy-going attitude. Known to be quite cold to others, he has good leadership qualities. He prefers to just go along with his friends, rather then make small decisions in life. However, if it involves his Hydra House, he would make his own decisions. | He was instructed by the Chairman himself to shows Emiko around, seeing how he is the prefect of his house. At first, the only sounds were from the introducing himself and the school. While they were almost parting, she spoke up and told him her name. That was how they became friends. Moreover, TOP is a good friend of G-Dragon, Emiko’s adoptive brother.

×  Jung ‘Krystal’ Soojung | F(x) | Freshman Student from House of Pegasus | With a cold, royal aura coming from her, many do not dare to approach her. She’s the younger of the famous Ice Princess sisters. With glares terrifying enough to send the scariest beast running, majority are too scared to even be near her, except her friends and family. No one would even want her mad. She isn’t near as calm or as light as her fellow Pegasus, though she can be grouped with them in terms of temperament. | She and Emiko were to be seatmates for the rest of the year. No one knew why Krystal started to make attempts to start conversations with her just after a few days. Oddly, some rumours stated that the new girl had bewitched the ice princess, others said it was because Krystal went mad. In actual fact, it was because of one reason – interest. Interest not as in relationship interest, but interest in ‘why are you like that’. During Emiko’s first few days of lessons, Krystal kept glaring at her, staring a hold into her cheeks. But she didn’t budge, not at all. The Princess continued for days, annoyed at how she didn’t even flinch when others would. That was the start of her interest, and their friendship.

How did you meet him/her? They were both mutant guinea pigs for the scientists.

Personality: Though he often has an amused smile plastered on his face, he really has no care about the sufferings of others. He will heartlessly dispose of anyone who gets in his way, except for his best friends. Not easily intimidated, he does not care much for people. Holding onto a wide knowledge of dark secrets kept by the mutant higher-ups, he currently has a desire to rid the world of scientists who experiment of mutants, though he has not been seen taking action. Despite the cool and calm facade, he easily gets angry. He will never stand aside and watch if his friends need help or are in trouble. However, he has hobby of annoying others after their defeat.

His/Her Powers:

×  hungry soul | It is an ability from birth which allows the user to possess another’s body. When this power is being used, the user’s body will be as lively as the dead. His/her soul will travel to any other body in which has been previously injured by the user. The abilities of the body being taken over can be utilized by the user, as long as his/her soul still inhabits the body.

×call the beasts | Allowing one to summon creatures is what this power is about. This ability uses summoned beasts to either attack or defend, whatever the summoner wants them to do. The animals called upon range from poisonous snakes to wild dogs to ferocious vultures. This power was implanted during an experiment.

×arise, fighter | Being an effect of an experiment this ability is not natural. It allows one’s combat capabilities to increase dramatically. A puny female could have strength worth comparing to sumo wrestlers. Being the best power to have during hand-to-hand combats, it is one of the best out of the three abilites Reizo has.

How did you meet him/her?
Dusk had ended, the night had fallen. She had difficulties sleeping. All she could dream of that night were the experiments she had undergone. Hoping to seek comfort for herself, she arrived at the roof of the Library with a violin in one hand. She prepared herself, lifted up the violin and bow, and started to play. It was the melodious, soothing tune that attracted the attention of him. He, too, had trouble resting his mind. Hence, his wandering figure. He was just about to return to his room to revise his notes for the day.

The music was pleasant. It soothed and calmed his mind down, stress all gone. The male stood there, under the moonlight, eyes closed and just listening to the lullaby. When the music ended, a desire to listen more grew in him. He became determined to find the violin-player. Thus, this resulted in him walking around the academy every night at the same time. He did that repeatedly all for the sake of knowing the instrument holder.

Days passed before that melodious sound played through the night air once again. Determined, he went up the roof. Finally, a female stood before him, his lullaby-player was in front of him. He coughed to get her attention before introducing himself. She had turned around shocked, in hope that it was not a teacher. It was relief for her that the boy was no teacher, but nervousness filled her when he introduced himself. Thoughts went through her head, ‘Do I have to introduce myself to?’, ‘Why are you here? Is it to capture me? No!’. Seeing her spazz, he quickly informed her that he was just another regular student at the academy. That was how they met, and got each other’s contact. Since then, they usually enjoyed the music played by her occasionally.

 

Personality:
this is mine, and mine only | If he was an animal, he could’ve been a cougar, seeing how territorial he will be. However, in real life, he is just very possessive. Whatever belongs to him can rarely be given to anyone. He will fight to get back what was stolen from him. Not very willing to lend items in his possession to others, he is the one person you shouldn’t even bother to ask.

temperature negative | His role is the cold prince. As one can easily guess, his personality consists of the traits heartless, silent, and emotionless. He doesn’t give a care about others, much less their feelings. All he minds is his life. His friends get at least some care from him, though it is not obvious. He chooses the option of being quiet and using body motions instead of talking.

delete the persona | Successfully breaking down the steel wall around his heart, will earn you knowledge of his real feelings. He is actually a really caring and understanding gentleman; he just chooses not to show it. To his cherished ones, he will display care and concern, privately. Capable of understanding others easily, he often knows what are the motives and feelings of people.

               ×  freeze like i command | This ability is a type of cryokinesis. Resulting in enabling its user to freeze liquids as per their will. Sharp objects made from ice can be created to stab opponents. One of the more dangerous effects of this is that if the user’s victim is wet, he/she can freeze them.

               ×  fire is a good servant | He has a powerful form of the common pyrokinesis. With the ability to create and manipulate fire, incinerating an opponent is possible.

               ×  control remote for explosions | It is an ability in which allows the user to explode anything they have marked previously at anytime. By marking, it means to move around one’s hand above the object. The explosions are commonly mistaken as bombings.

How did you become rivals? Her and ’s parents were childhood friends. Seeing how both their kids had no ongoing love relationships and were stubbornly against anything like that, they decided to engage both of them. The two couples had already agreed on holding the marriage when their academy life ended. Ever since the first meeting, she had fallen in love with him. She was really happy to have her first love already confirmed as her husband. However, days after Emiko arrived, she found and her being together constantly at night. She grew jealous, and started threatening Emiko to back off.

Personality: She’s actually just a really innocent female who wants love. Desiring attention from others, she acts very polite and good-mannered. However, her competitiveness can get fired up once in a while. Determined and persistent in getting what she wants could be considered a good trait about her.
