Because I like the dark quotes of the series 心戰 too much, I decided to make small drabbles for all of them. This way, I won't burden myself with another new story and I can still write about them! :D Don't read if you don't like the angst and darkness of these drabbles! Don't want to scar you :(

 

心戰 = Psychological Warfare
 I could not quite find another translation for it, but this describes it good enough :)

塞翁失馬，焉知非福，只不過是那些逃避現實的人，用來安慰自己的廢話，失去就是失去，失去的東西不會再出現，上天不會因為你失去重要的東西，而特別眷顧你。

“It’s… It’s for the better, right?”

Yoonah muttered softly as her eyes bored into Joohyun’s. The younger felt pity, indescribably pity, for the look in the other’s eyes was heartbreaking for her to bear. Pity… For her friend was running away from reality.

“Yoonah…”

“It’s all for the better!” Yoonah screamed frantically, and Joohyun knew she was trying to convince nobody but herself with it. “I know it is!”

Joohyun shielded her eyes with her hands, hiding the few tears that were able to escape. All she could do right now, she knew, was standing in front of the Yoonah who was sitting on the hospital bed, her body attached to all sorts of machines that made her heart cringe. She could do nothing more. Comfort… Was not appropriate right now. Nothing was, actually. Nothing, but silence.

“Joohyun… Things… Things will get better, right?”

All Joohyun could do, was answering the question with silence.
 

'The old man lost his mare, but it all turned out for the best'. It's just idle talk used by those who avoid reality to comfort themselves. A loss is a loss. Things that are lost will not appear again. The heavens will not specially care for you just because you lost something important.
