Personality:

Hyungah is fun to be around and very much spontaneous. He always does things for a laugh and he loves to brighten up a dull moment with his jokes. Sometimes what he has to say is a little too blunt or inappropriate, but, he doesn't mean it in any type of way. He is very sarcastic and straight forward--quick to tell one how he feels without thinking about it. He is very much demanding and may come across as being too bossy, but he doesn't mean to do it in a horrible manner. He is very curious about his surroundings and observant. He learns by observing and this is a strong side of his. Once he befriends someone, he is very dependable, compassionate, loving, and caring.

He is also very sappy and romantic, being called "Hyungmance" by his best friends because of his obsession with finding Mr. Right. That's right, he's openly gay and proud of it. He believes that one day, the right guy will come along and sweep him off of his feet. He has molded the perfect guy from many different romance novels, mangas, and dramas. It isn't as though other people haven't thought about this, it's just that he hopes to one day meet the man of his dreams...he believes that someone has to have some sort of standards or else they will end up with the wrong person...He is completely afraid of giving his whole heart to someone unworthy because he is quick to fall in love or trust easily.

He is definitely a choco-holic, and he admits that. He always (and I mean always) has to have chocolates in the morning or in order for to function. Chocolates, to him, is like alcohol and without it, he is a wreck. He knows basically all the chocolates there is out there and can spot a piece of chocolate a mile away. He carries a secret stash of chocolates around with him. He doesn't hesitate to share anything with his friends BUT his chocolates. He immediately gets on the defense if someone asks him for his chocolates. He'll immediately hold the chocolates to his chest in a defensive manner, then he'll yell, "No, uh uh, no way! Not MY chocolates. You can have anything else--my money is in my room on the dresser, my jewelry you can have...take my shoes, but NOT my chocolates!" Then he'll run to the nearest room, lock himself in, and then eat his chocolates in peace. He won't come out until it is clear. For this, his friends pick on him and ask for his chocolates whenever they want a reaction out of him. He knows this, but at the same time, he cannot help but run wildly until he is sure that he has his chocolates to himself.

Being that Hyungah is spontaneous, he has a character about himself that makes people wonder, "where are his parents?" and "why aren't they doing anything about his behavior?" but, he just doesn't care what others have to say about him. He lives in the moment and is quick to jump head first into something. He believes that things being planned at the last minute is more fun and exciting than planning for a long time. He is often disappearing and returning after long hours because he is exploring. Hyungah is so bold and spontaneous that one time, his friends were stunned by his courage in a department store. Hyungah and his friends were walking around the mall and they were all carrying dolls that they had just purchased. Hyungah took this time to run to many different strangers and asking them "Have you seen my baby's father?! Are you my baby's father?! I need to find him!" His friends was shocked. He is also very quick to walk on his hands (handstands, anyone?) jump ontop of a table and dance, or even go up to random strangers and say some of the craziest things.

Hyungah will do any and everything for those that he cares about. He is quick to defend and quick to get frustrated or angry over things that people say about his friends or group members. He doesn't care what others say about him, but talk bad about his friends and there will be hell to pay...

Overall, he is a very bold, courageous, straight-forward, loving, adventurous, spontaneous wild child.

Background:

Hyungah actually was raised in a very positive and nurturing household. Although his parents were of two very different cultures (his father is Hispanic traveling to Korea one year on business - and his mother is Korean) they instantly fell in love. What was supposed to be strictly a business trip blossomed into a beautiful romance. The two fell in love very quickly, even though there was also a failure of real communication. That didn't stop them, though. Hyungah's father was scheduled to leave back to the United States in just a month--but they made sure to spend every moment together. When he was forced to leave, he made a promise to her that he would be back...she waited for him--and he didn't show up in a few months like he had promised. When she was about to turn around and go home (she was at the place where they first met - the park under a Cherry Blossom tree) she saw him running towards her and they embraced. He immediately fell to one knee and he popped the question in Korean. She was shocked and surprised, but she said yes! It didn't take long for Hyungah to be conceived. His life was filled with love, creativity, fun, inspiration, and individuality and acceptance! Her parents raised him to be the best man that he could be and for him to be daring and wild (like they once where). They told him to never let anyone's words bring him down because when people were against them getting married--well, they did what THEY felt was right. Hyungah was really inspired by her parents very much...

Hyungah blossomed during his childhood. His parents encouraged him to express herself and also to do well in school. Their encouragement, however, was one of the things that led him to become the spontaneous, over the top man that he is today. Hyungah was a riot in school, always making the kids laugh and always getting into trouble, although his GPA remains at a 4.0, it wouldn't be known to those who are around him because of his wild behavior. His parents thought that a change of scenery would help tone him down and moved a few hours away to Seoul, Korea. There, Hyungah was reunited with his older cousin, SooYeon -- and his personality sky rocketed. Having the two together was a "mistake" because they both feed off of one anothers' energy and are definitely spontaneous and over bearing. His parents love seeing them interact together since they hadn't seen each other since they were in middle school (they moved to Seoul when Hyungah was entering high school). But, they sort of regret the decision to have them two together...(but they will never admit that).
