SooYee is fun to be around and very much spontaneous. She always does things for a laugh and she loves to brighten up a dull moment with her jokes. Sometimes what she has to say is a little too blunt or inappropriate, but, she doesn't mean it in any type of way. She is very sarcastic and straight forward--quick to tell one how she feels without thinking about it. She is very much demanding and may come across as being too bossy, but she doesn't mean to do it in a horrible manner. She is very curious about her surroundings and observant. She learns by observing and this is a strong side of her. Once she befriends someone, she is very dependable, compassionate, loving, and caring.

SooYee is also very sappy and romantic, being called "Soomance" by her best friends because of her obsession with finding Mr. Right. She believes that one day, the right guy will come along and sweep her off of her feet. She has molded the perfect guy from many different romance novels, mangas, and dramas. It isn't as though other girls haven't thought about this, it's just that she hopes to one day meet the man of her dreams...she believes that someone has to have some sort of standards or else they will end up with the wrong person...She is completely afraid of giving her whole heart to someone unworthy because she is quick to fall in love or trust easily.

SooYee is definitely a choco-holic, and she admits that. She always (and I mean always) has to have chocolates in the morning or in order for her to function. Chocolates, to her, is like her alcohol and without it, she is a wreck. She knows basically all the chocolates there is out there and can spot a piece of chocolate a mile away. She carries a secret stash of chocolates around with her. She doesn't hesitate to share anything with her friends BUT her chocolates. She immediately gets on the defense if someone asks her for her chocolates. She'll immediately hold the chocolates to her chest in a defensive manner, then she'll yell, "No, uh uh, no way! Not MY chocolates. You can have anything else--my money is in my room on the dresser, my jewelry you can have...take my shoes, but NOT my chocolates!" Then she'll run to the nearest room, lock herself in, and then eat her chocolates in peace. She won't come out until it is clear. For this, her friends pick on her and ask for her chocolates whenever they want a reaction out of her. She knows this, but at the same time, she cannot help but run wildly until she is sure that she has her chocolates to herself.

Being that SooYee is spontaneous, she has a character about herself that makes people wonder, "where are her parents?" and "why aren't they doing anything about her behavior?" but, she just doesn't care what others have to say about her. She lives in the moment and is quick to jump head first into something. SooYee believes that things being planned at the last minute is more fun and exciting than planning for a long time. She is often disappearing and returning after long hours because she is exploring. SooYee is so bold and spontaneous that one time, her friends were stunned by her courage in a department store. SooYee and her friends were walking around the mall and they were all carrying dolls that they had just purchased. SooYee took this time to run to many different strangers and asking them "Have you seen my baby's father?! Are you my baby's father?! I need to find him!" Her friends was shocked. She is also very quick to walk on her hands (handstands, anyone?) jump ontop of a table and dance, or even go up to random strangers and say some of the craziest things.

SooYee will do any and everything for those that she cares about. She is quick to defend and quick to get frustrated or angry over things that people say about her friends or group members. She doesn't care what others say about her, but talk bad about her friends and there will be hell to pay...

Childhood background:

SooYee came from a very great childhood. Her parents encouraged her to express herself and also to do well in school. Their encouragement, however, was one of the things that led her to become the spontaneous, over the top girl that she is today. SooYee was a riot in school, always making the kids laugh and always getting into trouble, although her GPA remains at a 4.0, it wouldn't be known to those who are around her because of her wild behavior. Her parents thought that a change of scenery would help tone her down and moved a few hours away to Seoul, Korea. There, SooYee was reunited with her older cousin, SooYeon -- and her personality sky rocketed. Having the two Soo's together was a "mistake" because they both feed off of one anothers' energy and are definitely spontaneous and over bearing. Her parents love seeing them interact together since they hadn't seen each other since they were in middle school (they moved to Seoul when SooYee was entering high school). But, they sort of regret the decision to have them two together...(but they will never admit that).

Trainee life

How you got in: She was scouted

SooYee was discovered once because she and her friends were walking around town shopping and on the speakers of one of the stores, one of their favorite songs came on and they just had to dance and sing to it. SooYee was the first to start dancing because she doesn't really mind acting bold in public and doing things in front of people. There was power in her dance moves and her vocals were amazing as well. She danced her heart out, finally getting her friends to join. They were so into the song and dance that they didn't even notice that a crowd had come around them and began cheering along to what they were doing. Only after they stopped dancing and high fiving one another, a JYP representative happened to be in the crowd admiring SooYee's skills. He walked up to her and handed her his card saying that he enjoyed the show. He said that he hoped that he would see her soon at the office for her auditions and that she'd be a great trainee. He smiled and bid them all farewell. She didn't hesitate to get her cousin to audition with her.

Trainee Life:

Trainee life was somewhat hard for her. Being that she was so young, she was often mistreated because of the fact that she was scouted and allowed to become a trainee while the others had to audition. Although she was treated negatively, she used this as her motivation to strive forward and show the other trainees that it didn't matter how she became a trainee but more so about the fact that she was here because she wanted to make it. She was usually the first one in the training room and the last one out at night.

How you met: 

Xiumin actually started off helping out the trainee's so that they could do extremely well in their auditions with the higher ups. However, for some reason, he took a liking to SooYee. Something about her dedication and determination to make it striked him as something to truly admire. One day, she asked him to help her practice her dance moves to perfect them (she's usually the last one out of the training room because of the need for her to do things right) and he accepted. When he touched her, even slightly, to move her in the right position, he felt fireworks immediately. He tensed up, but she just turned to him, their faces only inches apart, and smiled saying, "Oppa, what's wrong?" The word 'oppa' coming off of her lips...well...it was the most beautiful thing he'd ever heard. Ever since then, he has made an effort to talk to her and get to know her better. Even if he has a long, tiring schedule, he has to check up on her by text, voicemail, video call, or e-mail, to make sure that she is doing alright. He likes her loud, energetic, bubbly personality and whenever he is around her, he is extremely comfortable and he enjoys himself. There is no denying that there is chemistry between the two - but, for some reason, they are completely oblivious to each others' feelings.
