Poisoned Cake Application: Ling Xiaoyu aka Yun

Sit down dear, let us have some tea….

"Firstly what is your name?"

"My name is Ling Xiaoyu,"

"Oh? Interesting," the chair lady silently wrote down the name on her paper, "Though you must change your name,"  Xiaoyu already understood she'd have to do this.

"Yes I knew that,"

"Good. What should we call you?" she asked prudently. Firmly the girl said:

"Yun"

"Yun?" repeated the chair lady with a ardent brow. The girl merely nodded.

"What is your birth season Yun]?"

"I was born on  [Crystal Moon of Flora Season," you wondered why would she need to know this; but just told her.

After hearing the answer, the interviewer was back to writing; then she looked up to ask:

"Tell me what it was like for you as a child,"

"Why? Why would you need to know that?" asked the girl with defensiveness. The chair lady smiled, a horrid smile

"Because we are your new family now---and I want to know all about you," the creepy hag, tapped her notebook prodding the younger with a gaze to spill her life's work of stories,

"Whatever…fine. I was born into the Independent social class," the girl looked up to see if the lady would say something, but she said nary a word and started intently on her paper. What an avid lady. So she continued on with: My mother was pregnant with me at the time of her and my father running away from the beasts. They didn't want to bring a child into the world knowing that they were being abused, beaten, bullied, and forced to do the beasts' work. They wanted me to possibly be born into a different life. They wanted a new world for me--one far away from the beasts' controlling. But, what they didn't know was that every move that they made, the beasts' were on the trail--tracking them...toying with them...letting them know that by no means neccesary would they escape without suffering the consequences. However, somehow, my parents escaped into a place known as "The Slums". It is an undisclosed location for humans trying to keep far from the beasts' to protect their family and loved ones. I was born there...from a young age, I was forced to learn how to fight.

"I lived with my guardians. Life for me was constantly in fear. Who knew when the beasts would attack and slaughter any independent humans. I was told that the beasts' were an unrelenting force--always doing what they willed because they had the power over us and they wanted us to know that we were weak--that we were nothing compared to their power--their dominance--their craft. I was about eighteen when a beast found our location. He immediately alarmed his comrades into knowing where we were. There was utter brutality all around me. Nothing but chaos and disorder. I heard the screams of those that I was close to--that I had grew up with. It pained me to see the beasts' tear them limb from limb without hesitation or cowardace. I experienced first hand their brutality and force and it...scared me. I was in hiding--I felt like a coward. My people--my friends--people that I knew and was close to was crying out for help. I didn't want to sit back and do nothing...I couldn't stay there...I wouldn't. I came from my hiding place, bracing myself for the battle to come. I didn't know exactly what it was that I was supposed to do...my training never really was needed...until now. I charged at a beast and it was an epic battle. I thought that I had him where I wanted him. I had the blade to his throat, preparing to slice him and kill him. Even if it was only one beast--I would let them know that I...a puny human, was capable of killing one of them. Even if killing one meant death--it would be a message sent that humans are capable of anything. When I was about to deal the final blow--I heard a familiar scream. It...was my mother. A beast had her by the throat. He threatened my mothers' life, telling me to release the beast in my grip, or my mother would be brutally murdered like my father had been only minutes earlier. I began to weep, for my people, for my village, for my mother. I let the beast go without hesitation, but the other beast was a liar. I watched, helplessly, as he literally ripped my mother in half. I was hysterical. Three beasts had a grip on me, stripping me of my clothing, beating and hitting on me. They told me that I was worthless, just like all the other humans before me. There, they ravaged my body-- me repeadidly until they had their fill--beating me uncontrollably. I was sure that I would die. I was left there....for dead. But...they made one mistake--they didn't ensure my death--they should have checked...I will stop at NOTHING to destroy every beast out there until they disappear from the face of the Earth!"

"Really? I wouldn't have guessed that considering how you look now,"

"That's my story,"

"Is there nothing else?" the girl contemplated on saying it and finally uttered out more saying:

"Well there was someone other than me who had survived the brutal masacre. It was a girl about my age. I didn't know her or even remember how I appeared in her cavern just on the outskirts of the town. It was hidden behind the bushels. She tended to my wounds and told me that, with time...I would heal--but only physically. Mentally, I changed--and she knew this, too. She told me that I would never forget what the beasts had done and my parents deserved to be avendged. She told me that the only way for me to fully regain my life back (or some of it in a way) would be to hunt many beasts down--and kill them. She told me to leave my mark on the world and to never forget where I came from. She told me that I was brave for going up against a beast the way that I did and that I had potential. For a few more months, I stayed with her, slowly, but surely recovering...every beast that I see from this point on...will certainly be killed."

"Oh…," the lady said trailing off as she vigorously added more, "Tell me more about yo----," before the interview could continue the door flung open. The lady saw the frantic face of someone who came inwards,

"Theres a problem outside---we need you," he said his eyes probably held panic behind his helmets black glass. He said it calmly, and the mistress nodded putting her paper and pen down

"Okay I'm coming now." she got up to leave but not without turning and saying, "Um, Yun stay here I'll be back," she disappeared after the door closed.

                    Filling in…in solitude

There was so much more to know--- *What else is she going to ask?* thought Xiaoyu. Picking up the paper stack, she looked at questions that had yet to be answered. She could imagine how the mistress might ask these questions…

"Tell me more about your family,"

"My family? Well my family is no more--but they will always keep a special place in my heart. My innocent mother, Ling Eun Yee--I will constantly remember her face and the words that she said to me way before the attack on the village. She said Xiaoyu, I may not live for long, but I always want you to remember that no matter what the beasts do to you on your lifelong journey--you are stronger in mind, body, and spirit than any of them combined. Then, there was my father, Ling Zhiang, he was a very blunt, bold, and aggressive individual. He lived to protect the family. He was our rock--he was the one that trained me in everything that I know--homeschooled me when there was no school available in the slums...taught me how to be swift and to fight--and spoke words of encouragement. He said Xiaoyu, you are a gift. You are our daughter. In this world, remember, that through you--our legacy continues. No matter what happens, you have to survive for your mother and I. And he was right...I have to survive...for them,"

"If we gave rewards what would you like us to give you?" she mused at the question putting the pen to the paper to answer

"I wouldn't mind having contacts because legally I am blind and I can barely see. I was born blind at birth, but through my family's prayer and determination, I was allowed to see again. I would love to have light clothing--something that will allow me to easily move without being detected. Light shoes, I am good at stealth and being quiet and undetected is one of my many skills. I would like to have...chocolate. Yes. Chocolate. It was sort of a rare treat that many of the scavangers of the village found and brought back to the children. It helped motivate us that maybe, in this world, we'd possibly be able to own something as sweet and delicious as that. And lastly--my mothers' heart shaped necklace...it was never recovered in the village, but I know it is out there somewhere. I need it...to feel as though I have her close to me. Diamond Heart Pendant ,"

"What are some things that you hate?"

"What so you can use them against me or something?" she wrote in the space with spite. But succumbing to the bigger goal at hand; she wrote under that:

"I absolutely freaking hate Beasts, any beasts actually. I hate them for what they do to humans--for toying with them, manipulating them... them...and killing them as though they are toys...pawns...nothing. That is my greatest hatred,"

                              Then it got interesting…

"When was your first experience with fighting?"

"Now we're getting to the stuff that makes sense! My first experience When my village was attacked by the beasts. Right before I was left for dead by saved by a mysterious young woman. (as stated in her life story. Sorry, I didn't read over the application before I just started typing),"

"What makes you so sure you could kill a beast?"

"I do not want to sound overly confident, but, had it not been for my mother being used as my weakness, I would have killed that beast. I just didn't want my mother to be harmed...only for me to realize the true maliciousness of the beasts--for them to kill her anyways right in front of me...My anger boils every time I think about the beasts...I have only encountered one beast--the winged beast--and even though I do not know about the others--the different types...all beasts are usually the same. Any beast that I encounter--I am going to charge at them without looking back...the memory of my village and parents...it pushes me to fight on for them,"

On the sheet it said for the interviewer to take out the case under the table, and then ask which one would Xiaoyu use, in battle. She looked under it and pulled out a gold case that felt like it'd rip her arms from her shoulder blades. Unsnapping it's lock, she found a whole array of weapons lie within. She fixed her gaze on the sheet and looked at her bejeweled item that she'd use like a pro.

"I would definitely use a  Light Lance as my weapon,"

Just as she picked it up to examine it she heard a noise. Crashing, and voices alerted her.

"Its going towards the room!" yelled someone. She heard scraping on the walls…quickly she readied her weapon.

CRSHHHH! The door was knocked in and flew into the brick wall; as she had ducked and rolled with expertise. Her heart pounded on the walls of her chest once she looked up to see a beast; masked totally in a blinding light--- trample inwards. It crushed things in its path, eyes locked on the girl who was hesitant with fighting. She breathed for a moment to see blood marking the walls in the hallway, dead figures lay on the ground. And blood on the claws of the beast. Before she could raise the chance to fight the light filled her vision---it was coming closer.

           A boy in the Beast

Her face was clutched by cold hands, and the creature's iridescence vanished to unveil the face a male… who looked like

TaeYang(Big Bang) ; Eunhyuk(Super Junior); Luhan(EXO)

He breathed tiredly leaning into her lips---she felt like he had bound her muscles with glue or something---she was going to die wasn't she? Before she new it he had kissed her----hard and long. His tongue lapped hers in determination as if to find a specialty she was hiding. Until her eyes were closing with this fatigue growing…

"Thank you Xiaoyu,"

"How do you----?"

"Don't tell me you forgot me…," he kissed the drowsy girls lips again; before them

"But? I don't know you,"

"It's trapped our new recruit!" someone said. Her joints and muscles warmed again as she could move them, once this male looked back his light swarmed his face once again. She was limp and tired, but she heard:

"NO YOU'LL KILL HER TOO IF YOU USE THAT---AHH!" it sounded like someone was shot to her death…not the mistress hopefully…

"I'm willing to make that sacrifice for mankind!" that was the voice of the male who'd come to get the mistress. The beast got off of you as if to charge at the male.

"Taste this you little ,"

                     BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM!

The room shook and split into cracks; an intense light blazed through the room and before she could move--- her body was locked under a fallen bookcase.

"Ohmygod it---it escaped!" the sound of metal hit the ground. A moment passed

"I killed a girl for no reason---well she was useless anyways. A little girl can't do anything,"

She heard it all in her confinement. Though she was too pained and fatigued to kill him…

              Before the blood...

"Huh?" darkness filled her vision… everything dim and lightless. She wriggled a bit being able to push----that bookcase off of her. She sighed as she remained on the floor looking at the glass shards that shattered, but one piece reflected her face…bloody and red. She remembered how she looked before she had been through this---fight…

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

Huang Yi Lin

1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5

"At least nothings broken, she said moving through the fallen items and papers.

Now she'd have to kill without them...she wasn't going to fight with the Resistance----they tried to kill her...

*momentarily dies*
That was miraculous. I will flatter you because its true. Xiaoyu has been through a lot, and I liked how you filled in a thick background for her. Xiaoyu lived in the slums, her family forever tormented by beasts until one day---the beasts sprang against them. I was shedding tears when the beast STILL killed her mother. Wae was he so cruel!!! Well Xiaoyu seems to thirst revenge, and she has yet to see all the beasts in store correct?! Thanks for applying and subscribing!
