Jong Min is a simple guy with a simple taste with clothes. He’s more of a “wear-anything-clean” kind of guy. From sweaters to t-shirts, from jeans to sweatpants, he wears anything that can make him feel comfortable. It doesn’t matter whether it’s designer wear or from the flea market – so long as it’s comfy and makes him feel warm, that’s all there is to it.

Personality:

Jong Min is an awkward bunny, no doubt about it. He is about as dorky as a younger brother can get which is pretty annoying on Eun Mi’s part. Jong Min’s a kid at heart; he loves to be someone who gets to play video games or outdoor sports or generally anything that gets him an adrenaline rush. Jong Min does not usually act his age, and that is mostly a problem sometimes. No one treats him seriously because most likely, they are all his jokes. He’s very active and generally just a very bubbly guy who likes doing what he does.

However, his sister would always advise not to let this fool you. There is a reason as to why he managed to pass Shinbi University with a major in psychology. He’s smart and quick-witted, a valuable weapon against those who always seem to take him lightly just because of his appearance. Jong Min is actually very calculative and knows more than he lets on. But, there some things that are just spot on with appearances; like how he’s too naïve for his own good and sees the best in people even when he has seen the worst of what humans can do.

Jong Min is generally a kid stuck in an adult’s body. He’s loyal to a fault and about as gullible as a con man in love. But he’s also about as pure and innocent and honest as a person can get.

Background:

Jong Min was born in Vancouver, Canada but has lived most of his life on the road. He was an army brat and more or less, did not last long in any place [sometimes even country] for more than half a year. They eventually settled down back in their parent’s hometown in Mapo-gu, South Korea for his older sister’s high school education and that started the whirlwind of foreignism on Jong Min’s part.

Favorite professor[s]:

v  Kim Heechul | Philosophy is his favorite subject, possibly because there is no wrong answer with Heechul. Or maybe it’s because Heechul knows how to connect with his students, especially to guys like Jong Min.

v  Song Qian | He harbors a not-so-secret crush on the math professor, despite doing less than average with her subject. He’s smitten with her and at times, people question if he’s deliberately failing the subject just to be with her.

Least favorite professor[s]:

v  Choi Siwon | He doesn’t hate him; he hates how he teaches his subject. Maybe it’s just him, but Jong Min doesn’t like the fact that it seems as if Siwon is rubbing his religion in his face.

v  Cho Seung Rin | Despite anthropology being one of his best and favorite subjects, he can’t say the same for the professor teaching it. Seung Rin is a no nonsense kind of woman and though her teaching strategies are more than entertaining to keep even the laziest of students awake, Jong Min doesn’t like the fact that she’s so cold and unforgiving when you’re out of the classroom.

Your clique: Social butterfly; he hangs around with everyone and anyone.

Clubs: Soccer club.

Relationships:

Family:

v  Baek Dae Min [49] – A soldier by papers, but a loving father by heart. He uses his status as a soldier in the army to inflict fear upon his children, but they know him better than that and end up getting what they want instead. Dae Min is a bit of a pushover, one sympathetic look from anyone he loves and he’s already agreeing with whatever they want. Jong Min is very close to his father, often listening to his war stories.

v  Baek Min Ji [47] – Min Ji is a journalist who wants nothing but the cold, hard truth with everything – especially with her family. She’s a bit of a nosy woman, always asking about the latest things happening around her children. It’s a bit irritating but they know she does this only out of love.

v  Baek Eun Mi [22] – Jong Min disregards everything everyone says about Eun Mi, because really; who knows her better than the little brother? Eun Mi may be the university’s queenka and almost everyone’s dream girl, but with Jong Min, she’s just his irritatingly loveable noona. He’d do everything for her, she just needs to ask. Her death came as a big shock to him and led to his isolation of his dorm room for about a week.

Friends:

v  Henry Lau [22] – well, the fact they’re both Canadian really seems to be a big point in their friendship. Henry is sort of like his best friend; the guy he can talk about anything with. According to Eun Mi, they make the perfectly troublesome dorky younger brother duo that does nothing but ruin her life. They’re roommates in the dorms and usually stay up ‘til the wee hours of the morning talking like teenage girls.

v  Kim Heechul [28] – Though most see them as strict professor and student, Heechul seems to have taken a liking to Jong Min and often refers to him as a little puppy that is intent on following Heechul around. Though Jong Min often denies this, he usually is tailing Heechul outside of the classroom.

v  Krystal Jung [17] – he doesn’t know how he became friends with her [though it is often considered one-sided by Krystal], but he does know that he likes to cut boring classes like Biblical studies to hang out with her in the high school building. Krystal is hotheaded and impulsive, quite stubborn to a fault; Jong Min likes to push her buttons and see how far he can anger her.

Majoring/Subject:

v  Henry – Post modern music

v  Heechul – Philosophy

v  Krystal – High school student

Rival[s]:

v  Cho Kyuhyun & Shim Changmin – Jong Min is petty and the rivalry is pretty much one-sided, to be honest. Kyuhyun and Changmin are some of Victoria’s closest friends and this irritates Jong Min to no end. He’s jealous of them, to be blunt. Victoria always treats him as a little brother more than anything, something she doesn’t do to neither Kyuhyun nor Changmin.

Majoring/Subject:

v  Kyuhyun + Changmin – Computer science

Partner:

v  Im YoonA

v  Song Qian

v  Krystal Jung

Majoring/Subject:

v  YoonA - Criminology

v  Victoria – Mathematics

v  Krystal – High school student

Personality:

v  YoonA – Though she seems to be Shinbi Uni’s little Goddess [apart from his noona, of course], YoonA is nothing really like the image she likes to present the public. They see her as someone prim, proper, and practically perfect. No one really knows, probably except her friends and Jong Min, how much of a sharp-tongued hothead she really is. She’s a bit childish when she wants to be and is almost nothing like her pretense of perfection.

v  Victoria – She’s the type to be very motherly; naggy and kind of corny, but exudes warmth that undoubtedly captures anyone. She is far from perfect, far from whatever standards there is for immaculateness, but perhaps that is what has Jong Min head over heels for her. She’s real and far from the ideal.

v  Krystal – The hotheaded little girl who wants to prove nothing else but how she’s not one to be looked over. Krystal is loud and blunt. She says things as she sees them, possibly because of her American upbringing. She’s rash and a bit rude, but maybe that’s her charm. She isn’t like the other girls; she says what she believes in and sticks by it.

Type of relationship:

v  YoonA – They have a bit of an odd relationship. YoonA was one of Eun Mi’s friends so he saw her a lot and knew her as the public did. It’s funny though, Jong Min had been the one person YoonA didn’t want to be seen as perfect. He had a child-like innocence about him and possibly because of that, she felt guilty for fooling him.

v  Victoria – Jong Min follows her around like a puppy and therefore, has given him Victoria’s nickname for him. Jong Min likes to think they’re very professional, he concentrates on his studies when in her class but still likes to hang around her even after she has failed him.

v  Krystal – possibly the only time Jong Min seems to be the older guy is when he’s with Krystal. He’s unexpectedly very level-headed and sympathetic when she is on one of her frustrated moods that were not caused by him. However, he does like to torture her with his child-like enthusiasm with whatever they are going to do.

How do you act around her:

v  YoonA – As normal as he can get, surprisingly.

v  Victoria – like a love-sick fool who’s almost as desperate as he is obsessed.

v  Krystal – As the annoying older brother he dotes on his little sister way too much.

How does s/he act around you:

v  YoonA – As imperfect as she can get, unsurprisingly.

v  Victoria – Like a mother and older sister. She knows of his feelings but constantly rejects him.

v  Krystal – She acts all annoyed by his presence but seems to have a bit of a crush on him.
