[GOSS] Behind-The-Scenes

Just a small blog post about little things of Goss~~~ These stuff are just small details that you might've been wondering, or just things to explain some aspects of the series that you might have mistaken as plotholes XD

Don't worry as I'm still working on Chap 13 (1500 more words to go =___=), so I'm just going to post this for now <33

1. The Staff

I was originally going to make an organisational chart of this, but I just couldn't be bothered ^^;; Anyway, Woollim magazine keeps their staff exclusive (meaning they only hire the best of the best), so they prefer to do large work with a small number of staff.

Editor-in-chief: Kim Sunggyu

Secretary: Kang Minkyung

Marketing Manager: Park Soyeon

Payroll Administrator: Seo In Kook

Art Director: Alexander Lee Eusebio

In-House Illustrator: Amber Liu

Fashion Director: Kim Sarang

Quality Assurance & Senior Software Engineer: Yang Seungho

Advertising Columnist: Kevin Woo

Writer & Occasional Columnist: Elison Kim

Writer (Special Features): Jang Dongwoo

Writer (Special Features): Lee Howon

Writer: Kim Jin Chul

Writer: Lee Sungyeol

Office Boy: Lee Sungjong

Transport Officer(?): Bang Yong Kook

2. Language & Speech Mannerisms

As you've noticed, the staff either refer to Sunggyu directly as Editor (like Sungjong did in some chapters), or just by calling him "Sunggyu-sshi". When not in person, those who are older than him (e.g. Soyeon, Sarang) simply refer to him as "Sunggyu".

Woohyun and Myungsoo, although not indicated in the series, speak in a mix of Korean and English (since they're obviously very fluent in the later) with each other (sometimes, Yong Kook doesn't even understand what they're saying). The same goes to Alex, Kevin, Eli & Amber, as they were born overseas.

Despite being younger by a year, Woohyun doesn't call Sunggyu "hyung", because he doesn't consider himself close to Sunggyu. And Sunggyu wouldn't probably give the permission to call him that anyway LOL. Also, since Woohyun thinks he's in a higher position than Sunggyu he likes to talk to Sunggyu using the word "you" (which is pretty rude... XD).

Former CEO/editor of New York headquarters, Lee Jung Yeop, is referred by both Sunggyu and Myungsoo as "that man", never directly by name (which Myungsoo and the other staff do).

3. Daily Life at The Office

Office hours are from 9:00-16:00. Sunggyu always arrives early, because obviously he holds the key... the others can't get in without him. Morning tea and afternoon tea are served (by Sungjong) about 10:00 and 14:30 respectively. Lunch break is between 11:30-12:30, and most staff go out during this hour (except for Sunggyu, who enjoys lunch deliveries to his room).

When writers aren't sent out for interviews and article purposes, they stay in the office to work on their stories (although Dongwoo and Hoya seemingly get special 'privileges' in this rule...).

Yong Kook's position as the driver transport officer obliges him to take Sunggyu to meetings, as well as taking care of special guests for the magazine. The awesome BMW (Yong Kook's twin) is reserved for these purposes only, and he's responsible for the car.

If you've got anymore questions, I'll be happy to answer them in the next post ^^

@StumblingClumsy: Haha trust me, you don't wanna see my notebook. Each K-Pop idol has been organised into different story arcs XD
