Sarang is a very talkative and charismatic person. She engages both herself and others in conversations very well— and makes sure everyone feels included when in large groups. She makes friends very quickly and sweet talks very effectively, even to the staff. She's confident in her socialization skills, and no one has any complaints when it comes to her exemplary communication skills. Once you get to know her, Mirae is an extremely motherly and caring person. She's the type to greet you with open arms if you're feeling down, and give you a big hug. She fusses over the younger members in a nonchalant way, and is overly protective of all of the kids. Once you get to know her she can be overwhelmingly kind and caring, and rarely raises her voice when the others are with her. Her first instinct is always others before herself, and the group refers to her as the mother hen. Something that isn't even up for debate is that Sarang is one of, if not the most hardworking people you will ever meet. She spends all of her free time either practicing her skills, or learning something new to expand her dance portfolio. She always wants everything done right, which means she has to do it herself, and doesn't like when others interfere with her projects. She is known to ignore people for days to finish her own projects. Sarang isn't a judgemental person, nor is she the one who hastily chooses sides. She is a good mediator especially between the girls, and always makes sure they sort through their problems eventually. She isn't biased when it comes to making decisions or offering advice, and that's one of the reasons the girls tend to go to her when they're having an argument- because she'll be honest. Her role is basically to ensure the girls don't implode on each other if an argument or disagreement gets too bad.

Sarang can seem cold to people she doesn't know or hasn't been acquainted with yet. Until she gets to know someone she holds back entirely and can seem a bit demeaning, cold, and quiet. She doesn't talk much with strangers and chooses to observe them instead, but when she's with people she likes and knows, she comes out of her shell. She always has something to say or add to a conversation, and frequently makes humorous comments unprompted. She can generally tell when she'll get along with someone and chooses her time to speak accordingly. All in all, Sarang is a bit of a creature of habit. She hates change and loves when there is a method to the madness when it comes to the groups, and her individual schedules. She is one of the only girls who actually likes their scheduled practices, and keeps herself on a very strict routine when it comes to everything in her life (whether it be her sleep schedule, what she eats, how she presents herself, she tries to make everything as similar as possible, and without any change). She gets easily frustrated and stressed when there's change, and it's best to keep things in order so as to not throw her off guard. Sarang bottles up her jealousy until it all comes out in one go. She gets jealous of even the tiniest things, like her best friends talking to new people or not spending enough time with her. She’s especially bitter and resentful when something doesn’t go as she wants it to go, or if someone is being treated better than her. Every little thing can set her off, and it’s honestly one of her fatal flaws. She doesn’t talk about it with the people she’s mad at either, she just assumes they know and goes off from there. She doesn’t articulate her problems or concerns, and it almost always leads to disaster and chaos. Sarang is known to the girls as a bit of a control freak, and is for sure a creature of habit. Everything she does almost seems mechanical by how perfect it seems, and she values flawlessness and the little details above all else. She can get easily upset and moody if things don't go her way, and it's a big part of the reason she hates change or taking risks; because she doesn't want to fail. It's hard for her to pull away from her schedule and routine, and she often falls back into bad habits and mindsets. She can also get a bit obsessive over things to the point where it's her only coping mechanism. Her passion often turns to obsession, and she needs to keep a watch on how she goes about things. Most of her interests seem to destroy her in the end.

BACKGROUND. Sarang was born into a broken family as soon as she was born. Her mother and her father were never together, but they decided that they would split custody of her where she would stay in Korea for the school year and visit her father during the summer months. Moving between households meant she had little stability growing up, and also had to learn both Korean and English to be able to live in Gwangju and Los Angeles. She grew up way too fast and has been dealing with the repercussions of this since growing up. Sarang preferred staying with her mother even though she had to work overtime to make ends meet because she was still there for her when she needed it, while her father was a prominent businessman who would mostly ignore her even if he wasn't doing anything. Sarang grew up with a love for music from her mother, who was a professional pianist prior to having her. Since they lived in a subsidized area all the neighbors were a big family who would come together to help babysit her while her mother was off on one of her two shifts of the day. Through this, one of her neighbors was a good singer and offered to give her lessons, to which she happily accepted. Sarang was a good singer by the age of ten, and an excellent singer by the age of thirteen.

Her father never approved of her singing and stated that she would never get a job in the singing industry so she should focus on school. However, since he didn't have her during the school year her mother defended her saying she got good enough grades that she didn't need to worry about her future career. In fact, Sarang actually had her sights on the big stage since she was fourteen after she saw a BLACKPINK performance on TV. After seeing them perform, she decided that instead of just being a singer, she wanted to be an idol. Her mother supported her throughout her goals and even helped her search for entertainments to apply to (even though she had her sights set on YG Entertainment). Her father was having none of it, but Sarang was old enough to decide that she didn't want to stay in contact with him so she cut him out of her life by the time she was fifteen. Sarang decided that she would audition at the notorious Saturday auditions, and unsurprisingly she made it through all the next rounds of auditions to become a trainee at YG Entertainment. She would then train there for six years until she would debut with E2W.

TRIVIA. 

— Her wardrobe completely consists of clothes that she thrifted because she could never afford buying new clothes growing up, and she finds it a waste to buy new clothes rather than thrifting.
— Her first idol crush was on Jennie of BLACKPINK because of her stunning visuals and amazing vocals. She really looked up to Yoona and cried when she met her for the first time.
— She is absolutely obsessed with cats and has always wanted one, but her father never wanted pets and her mother could never afford one. She wants to foster a cat in the dorms eventually.
— She has always been told that she would make a good model, and had even been scouted by child model agencies when she was younger. She states that she would never like to be a model because of the beauty expectations and the inaccessibility of luxury fashion brands.
— She is a big fan of Taylor Swift and has stated that she is the artist she most wants to collab with aside from SNSD. Her favorite song of hers is "The Last Time" featuring Gary Lightbody.
— She was part of 'the great coffee heist of 2019' at YG Entertainment, where she and the members of WINNER would try to stop Mino from having so much espresso by stealing his drink whenever he wasn't looking.
— Her favorite color is pink and she always tries to thrift clothes that are shades of pink because of it. Most of her closet consists of pink clothes.
— Sarang's most precious possession is her mother's family ring that she gave her after she turned eighteen.
— She is the biggest fan of BLACKPINK and has been gifted signed albums by Yoona after she met her the second time.

LOVE STORY. The two of them met coincidentally at a cafe between their two company buildings in 2019 and hit it off from there. Bang Chan was the one who approached Sarang first and they ended up talking for hours over coffee (and subsequently missed practice). They exchanged numbers after this, and stayed in touch for a year until she made her debut with E2W where they went no-contact because he didn't have his phone. He supported her in her debut however, and after the show ended they started talking again as friends until he randomly confessed one day that he had feelings for her, and she reciprocated them. They began dating officially in 2021, and have been together ever since.
