EXPANDED the way saemna comes off is calm, no matter the circumstance. its hard for her to lose her temper. she takes the observer role a lot, usually quiet in the conversation and seems like she is not paying attention. she can tell things about others that many cant like notice the small things about them or that they do. she is very good at understanding others and their emotions. but since she doesnt socialize outside work often she is a bit awkward and gets flustered easily.

she gets many feelings from others so its easy for her to feel drained when surrounded by others for too long or around bad energy/news. when she feels overwhelmed she goes home or into hibernation as she calls it and power off her phone for some days. certain topics that come up like her dad she will just shut it down instead of talking about it because she doesn't want to get into bad energy. actually it brings up a lot of untouched pain for her so she's sensitive to that. 

of course since she sees things she is good at giving advice and guidance. she will do it for her family anytimes. though she is hesitant to talk about herself and her job because its looked down on. she has trust issues so only if shes very close to you she'll open up. it is hard for her to say difficult problems shes going through because hse doesn't want others to worry or be judged. she will always say i'm fine or its good even when its not.

even though she thinks she is conflict adverse she is still stubborn and has a subtle individualism. she wants to live life how she wants and just wishes her loved ones will accept it because she accepts all of them for who they are. that is why she prefers to not say her business so she wont be judged. instead she just lives quietly how she wants but her individualism really shows with her style.

BACKGROUND for a long time saemna had a normal life. she is a middle child so she was able to go under the radar of her parents. she wasn't a bad kid but she did start rebelling in highschool. she came home past curfew and drank and party with friends. her dad would scream at her for smelling like alcohol when she came home. it ruined their relationship a bit. but it got worst during her last year of highschool.

she started to become sick like throwing up, fever, and hallucinating. she will wake up screaming and it was hard on everybody at home. she went to the doctor many times but they found nothing wrong. her dad convinced her of doing drugs and raided her room but didn't find anything, even the drug test was negative. her dad thought she was faking to get attention for once and blamed it because she didn't want to study. so she could delay taking the entrance exam because she didn't study. her friends turned from her too because she acted so strange at school.

one night her mom found her crying and she said she saw her grandfathers death. she predicted when and how and when she told her dad he just screamed at her and told her to leave because he was still sensitive over his moms death that year. when she was out there she got appraoched by a shaman who recommended her a free reading because she looked very troubled. she told her that she had special abilities and she must succumb to her calling to be a shaman. before saemna was never supersticious and didn't believe such a thing before but the womans explaination made sense. she didn't go home, instead she stayed with the shaman and asked her mom for the money to learn from her. unlike her dad her mom believed her and gave her the money. 

there was a temple teachings in gyeongju-si but she moved to gwangju to not ruin her dads reputation. shamanism is still stigma in korea even though it is a traditional practice.

now she is still in gwangju as a practicing shaman or mundang. she hasn't visited home since she got kicked out the house.

OCCUPATION shaman/mudang

ROUTINE on a busy day she has 6-7 consultations a day for an hour each. she likes to start each day with a meditation and walk during the sunrise. when she's not doing that she updates her social media like predictions for zodiac signs, etc. she uses her instagram and tiktok to get more clients but a lot come from word of mouth. she doesn't post her face on social media. minseok also stops by often randomly. when her energy feels drained she likes to go to the mountains for a detox. sometimes she will holds kut rituals too. 

CURRENT LIVING SITUATION she lives alone in the outskirts of gwangju for the last 6 years. her one bedroom apartment is where she works from. she lives on the second floor of a walk up. it is nothing luxurious. she uses her living room for her consultations. she has curtain to separate the two. in her work area she has a shrine and a coffee table in the middle with floor cushion to sit. it gives off big bohemian vibe.

SECRET She knows her dad is embarrassed of her so she moved away and doesn’t say anything. He doesn’t know she moved bc of him and his reputation but her mom does. She just wishes her dad will accept her and repair their relationship because little does he know she has been assisting him spirtually the whole time.

- She never graduated highschool. She dropped out the last few months

- she has a back tattoo of a talisman because its supposed to be good luck and represents her becoming a mudang. minseok gave it to her.

- she drives a 2015 scion iq thats a 4 seater

- she has a pet rabbit named ruby

- she doesnt really like kpop or pop but she is a fan of newjeans and ice spice

- she sleeps on a floor mattress instead of a bed. she finds it more comfy

- she isn't on social media often and bad at keeping trends

- she is sensitive to scents so she likes subtle ones

CHUSEOK she honors her ancestors and spirits by dressing traditionally and praying to the shrine in her home and giving offerings. since she don't go home she usually orders her favorite food or eats with the older shamans she knows. she tends to gift spam or fruit to the grannies in her neighborhood. she still works on those days actually. she never mises her moms food though because her or youngjae always bring the leftovers. 

HALLOWEEN she doesnt care to celebrate but she will decorate her home for videos to do predictions for her socials. if she feels like it she wiill dress up to go to a party to pick up a girl and never talk to her again after.

CHRISTMAS she likes to explore the winter village and markets and puts up her tiny christmas tree. she might send a gift that she thinks her family will need based on visions she gets, even if they haven't talked so sometimes its really random. she always sends youngjae something though.

NEW YEAR'S she is usually busy around this time because many people want luck for the new year so she doesn't have time for herself often. she make sure to cleanse her house though and does the same for youngjae beofre he leaves to their parents.
