Ryutaro is like a reckless kid. He is still young and impulsive, sometimes his age and immaturity really shows. He wants to gain attention to make his own identity so he crosses boundaries to do that sometimes by taking jokes far or being extra hyper. He doesn't mean to hurt anyone but you know when you have a twin brother you roast each other and fight often so Ryutaro is aggressive like that to his friends and members in the purest way possible. Actually he is positive open and the source of positivity for Vesper. His childish side comes out because he's so expressive and likes flirting and being extra friendly with fans. But also comes out because he's so petty and likes pranks and revenge.

When he is excited its hard to bring him down like when he's down its hard to bring him up and he can't hide his emotions. He will throw fits and get distructive when mad. Dance extra hard that he might hurt himself to get rid of frustration. He would actively respond to hate by trolling them back but he gets really mad when getting compared to Haruto, his moood visably changes.

He makes friends easily and likes making friends. Really he makes friends every where he goes. He had a twin so he's never alone and doesn't like it. He likes to include others and explore with them and spend time with them doing dumb things. He is most likely to try something new first and during variety shows he is so loud trying to participate and show his talents. 

He is competitive but the kind to work in silence, he messes around during practice to lift the mood yet always knows everything perfectly in the end since he practices dance a lot on his own. He doesn't care about being compared to others, its specifically Haruto that bothers him. He wants to out perform him always and hates being compared to him.  

Ryutaro was born as twins so he didn’t get much individual attention. That made him act out more and try to get attention from his parents. He took dance lessons with his brother from a young age because his mom really loved Big Bang. She didn’t put a crazy amount of pressure on them so he still enjoyed dancing. Haruto and Ryutaro would fight a lot because they were the same age and they had all of the same things. Every time Ryutaro tried to stand out on his own his brother was always there so it never worked out. Since people are usually fascinated with twins they seemed so much better as a matching set. They also had a dancing social media account that was run by their mom and had a few videos that had a good amount of views. He loved his brother and he was very close to him but Ryutaro wanted to get out of that.

When YG announced that they were having open auditions in Japan, his mom wanted both of them to audition. But Ryutaro refused because he wasn’t really interested in being an idol at the time. But when Haruto made it the whole family moved to Tokyo just to support him. He was happy to finally be on his own and be the center of attention but instead their parents paid a lot more attention to Haruto. So Ryutaro started to get jealous and decided to audition too at the next open audition a few months later and he passed in March 2017.

Watanabe Haruto - 4/5/2004 - Haruto and Ryutaro's relationship is like any brothers. They fight and make up and are competitive together. Sometimes they don't talk for a while because they hae bad fights but no longer than 2 months. Haruto talks to him first always because actually Haruto is 5 minutes older and more mature. When he feels too down he calls him and Haruto fixes all his problems. They love each other but both want their own identity. They are opposite so their personalities clash. Fans love their interactions though because its so pure like real siblings.

Treasure - Ryutaro is good friends with Treasure. He is closest to the J-line and Junkyu and Jeongwoo. He runs and tackles them when he sees them and they make fun of each other a lot. Really they are very supportive like old friends.

TRAINEE LIFE: When Ryutaro joins YG Japan he got a lot of attention for looking just like another trainee. Because they were twins they were compared a lot and they had a really similar skills too. But Haruto training for more than a year more than Ryutaro, he had the one up. So Ryutaro tried really hard to improve his skills quickly so he could be on the same level as his brother and not be looked down on.

He did improve a lot in only three months and had very good rapping skills to just like his brother. The thing that made him stand out was that he was more reckless than his brother, he wasn’t afraid to try new things and embarrass himself in the sake of improvement. He did the harder raps that no one wanted to do and attempted more dangerous dances that were risky to injury just to impress. It didn’t take him long for him no longer to be locked down on. But even if he did well and they did it he would constantly be compared to his brother, it was like the same thing all over again. He didn’t have his own identity. So he decided to leave YG Japan in June 2017.

Right after he left YG he started to post dancing videos like he did before and that’s when he got a DM from a prism staff member. He chose to sign the contract and go to Korea. They had the genius idea to put him in Mixnine for him to get exposure so he accepted and went.  

He thought he would get eliminated early on especially because they were Korean trainees that trained a lot longer than he did and he barely knew any Korean. But the general public ended up loving him. His positive and wild personality in such a stressful situation caught the attention of many fans. At his audition YG actually asked him if he wants to join YG then he said he was in YG Japan but he left and he said he will have to fire some staff for letting him go. Multiple times thru the show he asked if he will rejoin YG but he kept declining because he was loyal to Prism. He developed a lot of fan girls and got first place on the show. 

But then the plans for the group fell through because of YG drama so it never happened. His fans were really heartbroken. Then when Haruto was on YG Treasure Box people thought it was him but he had a different name so then people started falling for both twins. Actually it helped to keep the hype around him while he was training because they look identical so fans was reminded of Ryutaro whenever they look at Haruto and they always compare the two everything.

MEDIA PRESENCE: The media perceives him as somebody that has duality. When he performs in on stage he seems really cool and then as soon as the Music stops he turns cute and throws hearts at Fans,. His child like energy is what made him have some of the fans people especially love the dynamic between him and Haruto because they are opposites.

CAREER ASPIRATIONS: I think his career goal would be to find more individualism. Many fans and articles still compare him to his brother and always talk about his brother but he wants to be known as his own person. I can see him going on a dance or rap show, mcing, rap unit or dance unit and doing a series where he teaches dances to fans maybe his own choreography too. He will compete with Haruto over who has the most writing credits too. A collaboration between him and Haruto would be interesting but he would hate to do that even though that’s what the fans would want to see.
