— from her childhood to teen years, it isn't an exaggeration to say that everyone would've agree that yuyi is compatible to pursuit as an idol. her face is small, her eyes are round and animated, her nose bridge is high and she got sets of pretty lips. her face and head is so small that it become enviable among the trainees and other people seeing her.

yuyi has a vibrant personality with high self confidence and self esteem. she does what she want to do. she doesn't feel the need for approval from others or she just doesn't show the need to receive feedback from them, positive or negative. but she sure enjoy the feel when her points are taken and she usually approaches people with her opinions and ideas confidently, with future premonition that her ideas will definitely be taken since 'they're great anyway'. she have her own value of self assurance and that also what stabelize her inner esteem. example, when she makes songs and play them to the members.

yuyi is knowledgable and she always find time to learn about new things whether it's regarding beauty, fashion, life hacks or general knowledges such as political and cultural issues. contrary to popular belief, her small head doesn't only occupy knowledge about aesthetic beauty but also serious matters. equipped with her quick thinking, she would be one feisty debater if you are to argue with her. she's feisty but less reactive unless intentionally and publically provoked. i would say she's a lowkey brainiac, hidden behind her good look. sound scary, isn't she?

yuyi has an attention span of a kindergardener so she most likely to give up when she's bored but she finds that some kind of stress and competitor is likely to help her focus. she's petty and competitive, she get annoyed when someone else is better at something compared to her.  since realising that, she doesn't feel the need to hate this so called 'stress' and 'competitor' of hers. but this normally apply to minor ocassions, for example when she plays video games or during the members' cozy card games night.

when it comes to real goals and accomplishments, yuyi is an optimistic risk-taker eventhough her success seems uncertain. she doesn't react as negatively or openly when she faces obstacle but she can be pretty one dimentional when facing them, her high confidence and esteem somewhat hinders her ability to do self monitor check and she just goes on against them head on. example, it's clear by how she dove into the industry and get from one company to another until the debutation.

so yuyi can be seen as a loyal person toward her dream and probably would make a good group mate, right? the answer can be yes. but at the same time, she's somewhat insensitive, intolerance and stubborn since she's high on herself. this might cause riffs and arguments when the competition first started but in the end, the girls she spent times with has started to gain a special place in her heart. during the debutation period, she has become more tolerable and affectionate with the members but still manage to give them hard times, cause it's boring being mild for too long (haha xD). tmi, her 'little princess' nickname may come from this traits and she doesn't mind.

bckground.

yuyi was born in the town of kaohsiung, taiwan to pan tzuyi, a hairdresser, and liu yihao, a car mechanic. she has two older sisters, liu yuching and liu yuwei. she was raised as a buddhist. she grew up at taichung, in her grandmother's house while her parent were busy working but she had a happy childhood. she would be playing home or princess with some friends and would always want to be the main role or princess as she was playing with them.

when yuyi was 10 years old, her parent divorced and her mother remarried to a businessman, named tsai chenghung. not long after the re-marriage, the mother, step father and her moved to spain due to the step father's business, there, her mother birthed her half younger sister, tsai ya-en.

yuyi started to study at an international school at mallorca, spain. she also started to take classical ballet class, ballet instilled in her gracefulness that would be important in her future  career and act as a charm but also added in difficulties during her earlier training years since ballet and idol performance are so much different. eventhough she doesn't have biological relationship with her step father but he didn't treat her any different from his biological daughter. perhaps, yuyi had a better early teenagehood compared to the two older liu sisters but we aren't going to discuss about them here. 

as a teenager, yuyi became interested in kpop after watching kpop music videos and performance on tv when she was 16. she applied for multiple korea  agencies, through email and such, but she hadn't get a positive answer from them. the extroverted girl didn't give up as she studied in high school on the day and dancing ballet after class, while applying for every opportunity she saw on the internet at night. 

a year after, yuyi stumbled upon an notice about the jyp open audition in korea and she took a 14 hours flight from spain to korea to attend the agency's open audition. it was on 2014, at the age of 17, yuyi joined the agency after passing the audition with several other teenagers around her age if not younger. one prominent thing about her is her determination and it was giving her good result in the end as she finally got accepted and started her training.

it's been awhile since yuyi physically seen the liu family, the last time probably before moving to spain? she had resorted to talk to them through phone calls, especially her grandmother and sisters, and she had been following her older sisters via social media before she was made to delete her personal accounts after joining jyp. but their phone calls starting to get less and less, after her grandmother passed away on her 3rd year as a trainee.

— the tsai family • pan tzuyi (mother), tsai chenghung (step father) & tsai ya-en (half sister) 
probably since she spent her adolescence years with them but she have better relationship with the tsai family. her step father is nothing but nice and always trying to include her and she has somewhat become an older sister figure for her younger sister. being the one who's the clingiest to her mother besides her grandmother since childhood, the dynamic continues till today. if we ask her mother, she might say she have 2 youngest daughters instead of one. over the past years, the tsai have come to korea 4 times to visit yuyi.

there are many people in this nation but i'm listing the ones who are closer to her only, within this list yuyi is the closest to the jyp's chinese line besides sunmi and bang chan.

mark and jackson treat her like she's their little sister and they still stay in contact till now, they went to eat together in private too. jackson especially isn't shy to hide his closeness and support for yuyi during those surivival shows she joined. while mark who isn't as public, supported her behind the scene.

tzuyu used to be the closest to yuyi and they self proclaimed themselves as twin from different parent. when tzuyu was shortlisted to compete in sixteen and introducd to the public while she didn't. she acted petty, truth is, she wanted to be with tzuyu for a long time and this situation broke her. but they made up right before the final result to form twice was out, yuyi secretly voted for tzuyu during the survival show.

when yuyi first joined jyp, wonder girls was still together, just re-starting in korea again and yuyi find each of the members admirable which isn't completely usual, considering shes's the 'yuyi'. but after looking over their past history and videos, she just come to respect them even more.

bang chan and yuyi are the same age friends,they hit it off easily as chan is fluent in english, so there're no language barrier between them. while most of those close to her were busy with their own schedule, yuyi found solace in bang chan. they often talk about their worries and concerns and swore to support each other through times.

just like the previous company, i'm only listing those i deemed close enough to be added here, this family is huge so it's natural that she isn't close to everyone especially since she's only a trainee there. 

yuyi only trained for shortwhile in this company before joining pd48 with yiren, sihyeon and yena, through the show she formed a close relationship with them. she still talk to them these days but it's not as much. she probably send lots of useless funny meme to yena, while texting with sihyeon and going on a date with yiren.

woodz is a senior in the entertainment world but also a junior in the produce series as he joined pdx101 a year after pd48 was over. yuyi only knew little about him before he came back from the failure debutation of xi into the company and debuted as a soloist. he composed and produced, they connect well through music and later be close friends.

the first time yuyi met layla, she thought the younger girl was cute looking but there were nothing much. like she didn't take her a friend or foe. once she heard her voice and watched her performance tho, she was very impressed. she got to know more about her during the show and seeing how the girl was highly accepted, she thought perhaps she could stick close to her. well, she was right to stick around. they both manage to debut!

trainee & producer life. 

— april 2014 until december 2017
yuyi started her idol training in jyp when she was 17, it's an intermediate age as some start even from younger age. she has a pretty and soft voice, the kind that jyp prefer for most of their girl trainees. but her strength is in her graceful charm and that was definitely what captivated the staffs in charge of her audition session.

even so, her ballerina moves were thrown over the window once she needed to start from zero with the idol-like dances. yuyi discovered the bad points and habits (that used to be good while she did ballet). 

years passes and yuyi still repeat the same days over and over again. while she got closer to some people in jyp. she yearned to make her own debut as well. with the increasing number of younger and talented kids, it happened. she got dismissed from the company.

— january 2018 until february 2019
yuyi auditioned and passed yuehua korea, shortly after joining the company, she got shortlisted to join pd48 along with 3 other girls known as yiren, yena and sihyeon.

she haven't train with them for long but perhaps from experieces in another company, she managed to match her vibe with them. the yuehua trainees were known for the cider-like charm, not only in their personalities but performances. after months in the show, 3 of them was eliminated before the finale.

they went back to the company, resumed training. the company was planning to debut a girlgroup with the 3 of them as the core members but later, the company didn't think yuyi will match with the soon to debut group and decided to drop her last minute. instead, they wanted her to stay there as one of the producers or else. she choose or else...

— post trainee life until joining 'the rising'
yuyi joined 'team how', a production team co-founded by woodz, officially being the only female member in the team. when woodz was competing in producex101 and further busy with x1 and the situation surrounded the group, she being one of the lead producer there.

yuyi stayed with the team until she heard about hybe opening audition for their future girl group. to be honest, she hit her deepest rock after quitting training, producing get her head off it. but thinking this might be the last oppoturnity for her life long dream, she applied for hybe.

pre-debut.

— produce 48 / survival show that intoduced yuyi to the entertainment world, the fans digged and found out she was from jyp through this show too. she was eliminated at rank 29th, the last elimination round before the finale. / for the first performance, she performed little mix's move with yiren, sihyeon and yena.
