BACKGROUND
felicity lee was born to korean parents, lee hyunwoo (david lee) and lee iseul (julie lee), on the 14th of august 2016 in brisbane, australia. hyunwoo was a music teacher and iseul was a ballet teacher, so felicity came from artistic blood. felicity was the couple's only child, and they spoiled her from the day she was born. most of felicity's extended family (grandparents, aunts etc.) were still in korea, the only other family in the country were her aunt and cousin who lived in melbourne. felicity was a precocious child, who seemed to pick up every musical instrument she could get her chubby little hands on and play it beautifully. her childhood with her parents was a dream, she was so loved by them and had everything she could ever want. fast forward to 2023, when felicity was 7 years old. her parents had taken her out for dinner as a treat, and they were driving on their way home. as she was so young, when felicity tries to recall the moment her life changed forever she really can't muster much up at all. there was a loud bang, some screaming and then everything was dark. when she woke up in hospital, her aunt lily and cousin victoria were by her bedside. it's hard for a 7 year old to comprehend losing her parents. a drunk driver had run a red light while speeding and smashed into the lee's car at 80km/h. her mother was dead on impact, and her father died on the way to the hospital. the driver of the car also died on impact. his car had hit the front of the lee's, and although felicity sported extensive cuts and a broken leg, she was alive as she was in the back of the car.
after the accident, felicity's life changed. she was moved to melbourne to live with her aunt and cousin, and had to deal with the trauma of the accident and the scars (physical and emotional) it left her with. felicity latched onto her cousin, victoria, like a life line, and the two were soon inseparable. you wouldn't know it looking at them today, but back when they were 7 felicity was the one needing to be looked after. this continued up until the girls were 10 and victoria got into her 'younger sister' role that she occupies with felicity now. the changes to her life were difficult for felicity to manage, but she did manage them. her aunty loved her and made sure she knew it even though she was barely ever home (a single mum of two girls is very busy). felicity threw herself into music to help her deal with the loss of her parents and her new life. it was already a passion for her, but now it meant something even more, it was a connection to her parents. over the years she picked up piano, guitar and violin, learnt to sing, took dancing lessons, learnt to rap and started mucking around with producing software. it became her way of life, eating, sleeping and breathing creation. victoria was right there with her, but she was less fanatical in her passion for music.
felicity decided she wanted to be an idol fairly early on. her aunt was constantly playing kpop as she cleaned the house, and some groups were really popular in australia. she told her aunt, who supported her in her dreams (she only wanted to see her brother's child grow up happy and doing what she loved). while victoria focused on studying (having decided early on too that she wanted to be a music therapist) felicity threw herself into improving her skills even further. felicity decided on bm entertainment as the place she wanted to fullfil her dreams. they were open to international auditions, and they were the best in the industry, somewhere she could make her parent's memories proud. felicity passed the global auditions in melbourn in 2031, and at the age of 15 she said goobye to everything she knew and moved to korea to begin her idol training.

felicity had a hard time when she first began training. she was in a new country, immersed in a culture she only had to be a part of at home, speaking another language and far from her only support system. she was so homesick her first year that she barely settled in, and thought about quitting. meeting celeste on her first day of training and having her going through something similar, as well as being introduced to other foreign trainees helped, but it was a massive adjustment for her. once she was settled in, in her second year of training felicity started to become herself again. she relished the challenges of training, and wanted to prove to everyone that she deserved to be there, and that she'd made the right decision to uproot her whole life for her dream. she made many friends and enemies during her time training, but she never lost sight of her goal to debut. she was talented, even among the bm entertainment trainees and so some resented her. others loved her for her outgoing and caring nature, and enjoyed seeing her successes. after 4 years of training, felicity was selected for the final line up of bm entertainment's newest girl group. not only that, but she found out she was being looked at for the leader position of the group. felicity spent the last year of her training getting to know her future group mates and trying to become the best leader for them possible. when the time for debut came, 5 years after felicity began her training, she was more than ready to make her parents, aunt and cousin proud.
felicity had a hard time when she first began training. she was in a new country, immersed in a culture she only had to be a part of at home, speaking another language and far from her only support system. she was so homesick her first year that she barely settled in, and thought about quitting. meeting celeste on her first day of training and having her going through something similar, as well as being introduced to other foreign trainees helped, but it was a massive adjustment for her. once she was settled in, in her second year of training felicity started to become herself again. she relished the challenges of training, and wanted to prove to everyone that she deserved to be there, and that she'd made the right decision to uproot her whole life for her dream. she made many friends and enemies during her time training, but she never lost sight of her goal to debut. she was talented, even among the bm entertainment trainees and so some resented her. others loved her for her outgoing and caring nature, and enjoyed seeing her successes. after 4 years of training, felicity was selected for the final line up of bm entertainment's newest girl group. not only that, but she found out she was being looked at for the leader position of the group. felicity spent the last year of her training getting to know her future group mates and trying to become the best leader for them possible. when the time for debut came, 5 years after felicity began her training, she was more than ready to make her parents, aunt and cousin proud.

LIFE IN THE PAST: felicity is determined to make the best of their situation. she wanted to be an idol, and in a way she's still getting to do that. it took her a while to get used to the older technology, and she laments the loss of her favourite video games from 2036, but overall she adjusts well. she recongnises some of the really popular groups from her aunt's nostalgia playlists, but she really takes the time to research who is popular and listen to their music to better fit in with the time period. she's more concerned about how her girls are adjusting than herself, and she constantly deflects her own feelings to make sure that they're all doing well. in the end she decides to make the best of her situation and enjoy life the same way she would if she was back in 2036. she makes a lot of friends, throws her heart and soul into fortuna and becomes the best idol she can be. there's only two things stopping her from being completely happy with her new life. 1. is that she misses victoria so much. they have been inseparable since they were 7 years old, and it's really hard to adjust to not having her around. when deciding if she wants to go back to the future or not, victoria is the main reason she's even considering leaving. the second thing keeping her from being happy is the knowledge that she could possibly save her parents. the accident that takes their lives happens in 2023, and felicity could do something to stop it. making the decision to save them and change the course of her entire life or leave them to die is something that she wrestles with a lot. who knows what her decision will be?

it all started in 2019 when felicity met seungkwan and vernon while promoting BIM BAM BUM. they got to talking, and suddenly felicity was added to a vibrant group chat with other 98 liners in kpop. this chat doesn't have every 98 liner obviously, but it has the ones that are close to each other. as felicity had hit it off so well with seungkwan and vernon they thought she'd be a great addition to the chat. the chat is chaotic to say the least, with no one keeping a normal sleep schedule, spicy memes and a continous stream of voice notes that can contain anything from whispered admitions of exhaustion to 50 seconds of straight screaming. felicity wouldn't change a thing about it. members of the group meet up wherever possible, but alas so far their schedules have never lined up to have a full group chat in person meet up. the fans of their groups love to see their interactions and selca updates on social media whenever they get to meet up. felicity is so glad that she's made so many friends in the past, and it kills her that she can't be honest with them about everything.(or can she???)

the closest person in the world to felicity is her cousin, victoria. they grew up as sisters, and they treat each other as such. victoria is a few months younger than felicity, so despite the miniscule age difference felicity treats victoria as her little sister. both share music as the great love of their life, but while felicity decided to become an idol to follow this passion, victoria is studying psychology to do musical therapy when she finishes university. their lives are completely different for the first time ever, but they still maintain their close bond. they even got a matching tattoo together to symbolise their closeness. in the end, victoria is the only thing still tying felicity to the future (she and her aunt are close but not enough), and she agonises over her decision to stay or go purely because of her. felicity and victoria would eventually be okay without each other, but it would be painful to live without their other half. decisions decisions...

celeste is felicity's trainee best friend. when felicity passed bm's global auditions and packed up to go to korea, she met celeste on her first day. celeste had passed the global auditions in canada, and the two girls found they had a lot in common. every trainee has that one friend they feel like they can rely on at the company, and felicity and celeste were that to each other. they've shared many late night practice rooms, vocal coaching sessions, 2am convenience store breakdowns and trainee evaluations together. they always thought that they'd debut in the same group. so imagine celeste's heartbreak when she found out she wasn't being considered in the line up for cherie. felicity was just as heartbroken when she found out she was being considered for the line up. she never gloated, and celeste was happy for her friend, but their friendship became strained the closer and closer it became to cherie's debut. felicity didn't know how to bridge the gap in their friendship anymore. it was almost a relief for her to get to the past and not have to deal with the bitterness that her closest friendship had become full of.
CHÉRIE
felicity was friends with most of the trainees at bm in some capacity or other. so going into cherie, she had decent relationships with the girls. she was closer to some than others, but overall she knew them and wanted to look after them. when the final line up for cherie was chosen, felicity went out of her way to bond individually with the girls. she wanted to be the best leader she could be for them all, and that involved knowing each girl inside and out. when they all got thrown back into the past, felicity felt like it was her responsibility to look after her girls and make sure that they were all dealing with the situation alright. the experience has forged a bond between these girls that can't really be understood by others.
HYUN TAERA
as one of the older members of cherie, felicity feels like she can take a step back on her protectiveness with taera. felicity sees taera as someone she can rely on when she's finding things difficult, and will always encourage taera to open up in turn. felicity knows that her extrovertedness can be exhausting for taera sometimes, so she always takes care to give taera space when she needs it. when felicity sees taera retreating into herself, she will try to gently coax her back out of her shell and figure out what's going on. there's a park near the dorms that they like to sneak out to when training is really difficult and drink boba to forget their troubles for a while (this continues to be a tradition in the past as well). LOVE STORY
felicity and chan met for the first time virtually, when she was added to the aussie line group chat (november 2019). she knew of him before that, minho from stray kids is part of the 98 line group chat and has mentioned his leader a lot in the chat. they bonded over being the leaders of their respective groups, and eventually moved to a private chat to vent about how stressful it can be to manage the expectations of the company's and the wellbeing of the bands. chan and felicity are both very open people, and in no time at all they were talking pretty much non stop over messages. from then, they continued to exchange messages until they finally decided to meet in person for the first time. they snuck out to get convenience store ramen at 2am one morning after they'd both been up producing tracks all night. they ended up accidentally staying out until the sun began to rise, but they were so absorbed into their conversation that they didn't even notice the time passing by. felicity and chan become closer and closer as time goes by until they each consider the other to be their best friend. it's around this time (july 2020) that felicity begins to develop feelings for chan. unbeknownst to her, chan was developing feelings for her as well.

eventually chan just tells her how he feels (maybe in april/may 2021) and felicity confesses in return. she finds it really difficult to keep the truth from him when they start dating, and 6 months into the relationship she tells him about their circumstances. of course he thinks she's joking at first, but when he realises that she's being serious he asks her for some time to process. they don't speak for 2 weeks after that, with chan trying to wrap his head around the fact that his girlfriend exists as herself but at the same time is also running around as a 5 year old in brisbane right now. felicity is hoping for the best during this time, and doesn't let herself think of the negative alternative. after his time to think, chan comes back and tells felicity that the situation is super weird but he loves her too much to care. they continue to date, and when felicity makes the decision to stay in the past they start to plan their future together.
