the most noticable thing about iseul is her overwhelming sense of confidence. it's her posture, her speech, the way she commands the attention of everyone in a room. she is completely and utterly comfortable in her own skin, something very rare to find these days. iseul is upfront about who she is the moment she meets anyone. she puts all her good and bad traits out there and allows people to come to the conclusions about her that they will. if you want to be friends then great, if you hate her guys she honestly doesn't care. iseul has been told numerous times she has the same hyperactivity level as a 5 year old. being 20, iseul has decided to count herself lucky to have not lost her youthful energy. iseul is always ready and rearing to go to class, to study group, out for a night of drinking, a shopping trip, just to the grocery store, you name it and she's there. and of course she's a morning person, what else would you expect? iseul tends to be the one in the dorm to inspire a bit of energy and enthusiasm for life when life seems like a flaming pile of trash. she can even get her dorm mates to crack a smile during finals season!
passion is what got iseul to university. passion is what pushed iseul through the low points in her life. and passion is something that iseul has sworn to herself she will never let die. it's probably no surprise that iseul is passionate about a lot of things, and she can sometimes burn herself out. but luckily she's got her dorm mates and her bae to remind her to eat and take breaks sometimes. however most of all it's her comittment to succeeding in an industry still facing a lot of stigma that keeps iseul hard at work and full to the brim with firey passion.iseul likes to listen. it's part of why she thought she'd be so good at psychology. she does her fair share of talking of course, but one of her favourite things to do is listen. iseul doesn't judge (i mean unless you murdered someone, then she'd be a lil judgemental) and she's always open for a chat. she loves to be around people but she loves to offer advice or just listen and understand someone's problems. cuddles are also a thing on offer during chats with iseul. and of course if you just want to forget about the world completely, come with iseul and she will take you on a shopping spree so intense you'll forget your own name (also you will end up with many new outfits to cheer you up). iseul most of all likes to stay true to herself. she knows who she is as a person, is comfortable with all her flaws and decisions and won't let her sense of identity be compromised for anything. she likes to be herself over anything else and isn't one to follow things (popular trends, friend's and family's opinions etc) unless she agrees with it or likes it herself.
a thing one should know about iseul - she can argue with anyone over anything honestly. i mean sure you've got the playful arguments between friends but it's also very easy to piss iseul off enough that she'll start an argument with you. usually it's nothing serious and she recovers quite quickly but if you actually really piss her off, i would recommend running as fast as possible in the opposite direction because damn this chick is a firecracker when she wants to be. arguing is a thing that iseul does and the people around her have gotten used to it, but others may find it very off putting to say the least. okay so this is probably why iseul is so argumentative. iseul has oppinions. very strong ones in fact. she'll defend them when attacked (hence the arguments) but seriously this girl is 20 years old and she still doesn't know that people don't want her opinion on everything. when people ask for her opinion, iseul is happy to give it. when people don't ask for her opinion, iseul is still happy to give it. the best way to get iseul to stop giving her unwanted opinion is to tell her to shut up in all honesty. she'll be a little offended, but she'll also leave you alone quickly.
iseul is very critical. this is mostly a trait that causes iseul herself problems more than causing problems for everyone else. iseul is very self-critical. she strives for perfection. she wants to prove that she's worthy of being at such a prestigious university. so iseul is very hard on herself. particularly when it comes to her grades, iseul expects nothing short of perfection from herself. this causes her to spend hours upon hours studying until someone drags her out to eat and drink and get some sleep. working herself into exhaustion is something that is ingrained into iseul's personality. iseul feels deeply. her emotions change rapidly several times throughout the course of a day, for better or for worse. depending on who she is around she'll hide these mood swings but if she's comfortable she'll just let them out. a big part of this in iseul's life is that she over thinks things and stresses herself out, and she really feels her stress. this trait is mostly a negative one, but on the positive side you know that if you've made it into iseul's good books she feels very strongly for you as a friend (or more than that wink wonk). iseul is a frequent offender of the 'do first think later' life philosophy and to be honest everyone is surprised she's gotten away with a small amount of trouble. due to this iseul is also a frequent offender of the 'oh no i've bitten off more than i can chew here' life philosophy. not that these small life lessons will stop her from making decisions at the drop of a hat of course, but one can hope that one day iseul will simmer down just a little bit.

PICTURE PERFECT?
lee iseul was born and raised in daegu, south korea. her family consists of her vivacious, slightly eccentric mother lee sooji (yes the famous ballerina lee sooji); her boisterious father lee taemin (not the famous one) and her dorky older brother lee taesuk (26, recent medical school graduate and single ladies ;))it should be known that iseul and her family are extremely close, and have been iseul's whole life. iseul's life before school consisted of playing with her brother all the time (he indulged her even with the between them) annoying the family cats and sitting in on the classes her mother taught at daegu's prestigious dance college. iseul's childhood before school was normal, fun and filled with warm memories.
iseul started kindergarten at age 4, in 2002. it was there that she met one of her closest friends, jung minjoo. iseul, being the confident child that she was, had no problem making friends in kindergarten and enjoyed every moment of it. in 2004 at age 6, iseul started primary school (minjoo of course attended the same primary school again) primary school was a breeze for iseul, cruising through academically and socially. it was in primary school that iseul met another one of her life long friends, kim taehyung. he was a few years above her, but they met in the playground and instantly clicked. around this time of her childhood as well, early on, iseul began to take ballet lessons from her mother and discovered she had quite the talent for it. sooji was proud that at least one of her children ended up being a dancing prodigy (taesuk can't dance to save his life)
after the lovely formative years of primary school, iseul moved on to middle school in 2011. again, minjoo attended the same middle school (not without a lot of begging on the girls' part though. minjoo's mother was considering sending her somewhere else) (taehyung went to this middle school as well but by the time iseul got there he was already in his first year of high school. he made sure to give her advice on all the teachers however, and what the best school lunches were) middle school brought with it a whole new level of school work, socialisation and dancing opportunities. it also introduced iseul to the sciences proper for the first time, which she was very excited about. it also introduced iseul to a whole new breed of mean girl, one that she wasn't prepared to deal with. the first two years of middle school went normally for iseul. she had minjoo, she had taehyung from afar, she had an interest in classes, a decent amount of other friends and was overall happy with herself at that point in time. she continued to work on her ballet as something she really enjoyed, and started to get really into biology and chemistry. so much so that she was considering a career in the future as a research biochemist.everything was fine for iseul. enter kim yuri in 9th grade. she transfered from another school, and she and iseul seemed to click. even minjoo got along with her well, and the three girls became inseperable. for some reason yuri seemed to attract the attention of the popular group. the attention was of course negative, and yuri was bullied by this group of people. iseul and minjoo copped some of it just from being around yuri, but nowhere near as badly. they tried to stand up for her whenever possible, but they couldn't be with her all the time.
high school started for iseul in 2014. minjoo and yuri ended up attending the same high school too. again, taehyung had already moved on from this school by the time iseul got there. he moved straight from high school to seoul national university to start his degree in ancient history. he and iseul of course kept in contact, not even the distance between seoul and daegu could ruin that friendship. 10th grade passed quickly, with iseul still dancing ballet and still very interested in science. yuri was still being bullied quite relentlessly by these girls even in high school, and she became progressively more withdrawn over the year. iseul and minjoo tried everything to get them to leave her alone, including reporting it to the school, but nothing was done. 11th grade was where everything hit the fan. iseul and minjoo had been watching helplessly as yuri's mental state seemed to deteriorate even more rapidly over the first few months of the year. they tried even harder to get the ty people at school to leave her alone, they tried getting her to talk about how she was feeling, they tried encouraging her to get professional help, and nothing worked. yuri's home life was taking a turn for the worse as well, as her parents divorced quite messily and were now spending their time fighting over the scraps of assets they had together. it all came to a head one night when iseul received a message from yuri's father. yuri was in hospital after attempting suicide. she was expected to make a full recovery, but it was very touch and go for a while. iseul was in a state of shock when she found out. yuri didn't come back to school for a few weeks while she was recovering, and then it was decided that she wouldn't be going back to that school at all, as half her problems stemmed from there. iseul and minjoo were devestated about this and everything that had happened to yuri, but there was nothing they could do. yuri moved schools, and iseul assumes she wanted no association with her old life because a little while after transferring schools, yuri stopped replying to iseul and minjoo and refused to meet with them. this again impacted iseul and minjoo, and for a little while both of them were experiencing severe lows.
one good thing that came out of this though was iseul had an epiphany. she realised that although she loved the sciences, she wanted to help people and make sure they never got to the stage that yuri did with her mental illness. so iseul changed her entire life by deciding that psychology was what she wants to do in her life. she decided she wanted to be a proper clinical psychologist after university. so iseul worked super hard in her last year of high school and made sure that she could leave daegu behind and enter psychology at SNU. she graduated near the top of her class and walked out of that school with her diploma without a backwards glance.
iseul moved straight on to university after finishing her high school education. she was eager to continue her education (and really wanted to get the degree out of the way asap too). her first year of university her housing situation . she got stuck with some awful barbie doll roommate who had no life skills and couldn't clean up after herself if her life depended on it. the room she was in was a shoebox (not good for someone claustrophobic) and was constantly messy thanks to her roommate. she was also constantly being iled by her roommate and her equally as awful boyfriend. at least she had jungkook's dorm to retreat to when that happened. which brings us to the present, iseul's second year at SNU. she's looking for any way out of being stuck with the same roommate she had last year, and she happened to find inha's ad and thought why not.

ADVENTURES IN THE DORM
ROLE : iseul is like the aunt of the dorm. she likes to surprise the dorm with baked goods when everyone is stressed. she also keeps her door open all the time (unless bae is over lmao) so that people can come and flop down on her bed and vent about their problems. she considers it good practice for her future career. iseul is also the main enforcer of the dorm's family night, and you will face her wrath if you skip out without a decent reason. she wants to make sure that everyone gets along well in the dorm, because her situation with her dorm mate last year was hell and she doesn't want to experience it again. iseul is also in charge of making sure everyone puts their important events (school , family etc) on the calendar in the common area. she thinks it's important so everyone can support each other when they're busy. iseul is also behind the dorm's group chat.

PERSONALITY : jungkook is a meme. thank you for coming to iseul's ted talk.
ok really, jungkook is a wonderful guy. he's sweet and caring, the type of person to drop everything to take care of those he really cares about. he's happy to be a pillar of strength for his close friends (and iseul obvi) when they need it. he's got a great sense of humour, and is always trying to put people in a good mood by cracking silly jokes or imitating his friends in a funny way. he seems to be a bit introverted to those who don't know him, and that's because despite his adorable lil doe eyes, jungkook has a resting face. he also takes a little while to come out of his shell when he meets new people. but oh boy, when he does come out of his shell be prepared to be bombarded with his enthusiasm and loudness. one of jungkook's most admirable traits is that he gets done. he doesn't procrastinate, he doesn't complain, he just works his off and hopes that one day he'll have the awards to show all of his hard work. he's got a very mature outlook on life when it comes down to it as well, which iseul finds super attractive lmao. on the downside, jungkook can be very competitive. to the point that he's willing to cast aside other people's feelings to get the 'win' that he wants. he needs someone to reign him in occasionally when he goes too far (thanks iseul). he's also not very good at expressing when he's feeling down himself. he's great at taking care of others when they're feeling off, and is quite happy to do so. but sometimes getting him to talk about his own feelings is like pulling teeth. he also has a habit of running away from things that he doesn't want to deal with (usually emotional things). he'd much prefer to hide in his room and pretend the world doesn't exist sometimes rather than deal with his problems.
FIRST MEETING : the way these two met is kind of convoluted. iseul's childhood friend taehyung came to SNU a few years before her to begin his studies in ancient history. as luck would have it, his first year dorm mate, park jimin, and him became best friends. jimin and taehyung are inseparable. when jimin's childhood friend jungkook came to SNU the next year, taehyung was introduced to him and they also got along super well. enter iseul the next year. she was feeling quite nervous about being in seoul and not really knowing anyone besides taehyung and minjoo. she also had her brother sure, but as a new medical graduate he was spending all waking hours at work to build up his reputation as an amazing doctor. so taehyung decided to take pity on iseul and introduce her to a few of his friends to make her feel better about being somewhere so new. the day after iseul got herself settled into her dorm (with a horrible dorm mate) taehyung took her and minjoo to dinner, inviting all his friends (bts). jungkook and iseul instantly clicked at that first meeting. their relationship only grew from there.
DEVELOPEMENT : jungkook and iseul fell into a friendship quite quickly after they were first introduced by taehyung. they exchanged facebook profiles and snap names at that first meeting, and were in constant contact from there. at first iseul just snapped jungkook to get him to help her find certain buildings on campus, and to ask him which was the best campus cafe and things of that nature. this quickly evolved into sending each other memes, chatting about classes and life, and their friendship became a proper friendship instead of just friendly acquaintances. from there they got closer and closer. iseul knew she had a crush on jungkook quite soon after they became friends. he was everything she wanted in a boyfriend, and he was super hot too. the only thing she wasn't sure of were his feelings towards her. little did she know that jungkook did, in fact, have a crush on her too. so they danced around each other for a few months, becoming inseparable and being generally adorable around each other. every one around them was just waiting for one of them to get their act together and confess. ultimately it was jungkook who blurted out his feelings first. he was really planning on telling her when they were chilling out somewhere where there wasn't so many people, like at his dorm or her dorm. but instead, it happened when they were studying together at the library one fine september day. iseul was sitting across the table from him, stacks of books and research papers scattered around her (she was working on a research assignment) complaining about her professor and how they didn't make the marking criteria clear. she was mid rant when he suddenly interrupted her with his confession. he really didn't mean to blurt it out, she just looked so gorgeous and she was so funny in the moment that jungkook couldn't help himself. once iseul registered what he said she confessed her feelings as well and they began to date.
INTERACTIONS : iseul and jungkook have been dating for some time now, and they're adorable together. jungkook is a very attentive boyfriend (something that iseul really needs lmao) and is always there for iseul. iseul in turn is always there for jungkook to complain to and also to share his feelings and fears with. iseul and jungkook have a lot in common, and can spend hours talking to each other about everything and nothing. they share a love for marvel, and can often be found marathoning the movies together. they also like to play video games together (particularly overwatch) and they make an amazing team. iseul and jungkook are not doing the same majors, so don't see each other all the time throughout the day. they however make sure to meet up for lunch most days, or even a quick coffee or something in between classes. they walk over to the dorms together in the afternoons after class (jungkook is not an early riser by any stretch of the imagination so he's never awake when iseul is heading to campus in the mornings) they're a solid and loving couple, and bonus, all their friends and family approve. when they're not together in person, you can be sure they're texting or snapping each other constantly. they're still separate people with separate lives, they just compliment each other really well and of course love to spend time together. iseul never really thought that she'd be able to juggle a boyfriend as well as her course work, and that's why she wasn't actively looking when she came to university. it's like jungkook fell out of the sky and into her lap, perfect boyfriend material. and she's not going to fight the universe on this one.

ok really, jungkook is a wonderful guy. he's sweet and caring, the type of person to drop everything to take care of those he really cares about. he's happy to be a pillar of strength for his close friends (and iseul obvi) when they need it. he's got a great sense of humour, and is always trying to put people in a good mood by cracking silly jokes or imitating his friends in a funny way. he seems to be a bit introverted to those who don't know him, and that's because despite his adorable lil doe eyes, jungkook has a resting face. he also takes a little while to come out of his shell when he meets new people. but oh boy, when he does come out of his shell be prepared to be bombarded with his enthusiasm and loudness. one of jungkook's most admirable traits is that he gets done. he doesn't procrastinate, he doesn't complain, he just works his off and hopes that one day he'll have the awards to show all of his hard work. he's got a very mature outlook on life when it comes down to it as well, which iseul finds super attractive lmao. on the downside, jungkook can be very competitive. to the point that he's willing to cast aside other people's feelings to get the 'win' that he wants. he needs someone to reign him in occasionally when he goes too far (thanks iseul). he's also not very good at expressing when he's feeling down himself. he's great at taking care of others when they're feeling off, and is quite happy to do so. but sometimes getting him to talk about his own feelings is like pulling teeth. he also has a habit of running away from things that he doesn't want to deal with (usually emotional things). he'd much prefer to hide in his room and pretend the world doesn't exist sometimes rather than deal with his problems.
