NICKNAME(S)
LEFTOVER + his name literally translates to leftover. 남은 means left, something that remains, that was left behind, and it seems fitting since everyone in his life seems to leave. he grew up without a father and his mother eventually gave up, leaving him on his own. the girl he thought would be his future wife left after giving birth to their kid. it seemed that he would always be the thing that was remaining, the person that was left behind as the world went on.

FASHION STYLE he doesn't have much of a fashion style. rather, he doesn't have enough time to dress himself up and work on his appearance. he's usually found in button up tops, sleeves rolled up to his elbows as he works. many times, he'll throw on a plain tshirt and a flannel and on colder days, he'll be seen with a long coat. he has quite a clean and simple style, something easy to throw on as he rushes out of the house.

PERSONALITY
pos gentle, hardworking, helpful, sincere, playful
passive, clumsy, flustered, discouraged, emotional neg

» he's extremely gentle, with flowers and with people. it's as if he wants to make sure that he brings no harm to the things within his reach, almost as though he's afraid they'll leave him if he doesn't anything wrong. his voice is always soft, never raising his voice, like doing so is something foreign to him.

» to see how far he's come since his youth, it would be nonsense to deny him the right to be known as hardworking. he always tries his hardest, working through his struggles and pushing past failures as if his life depends on it. even if he's not quite talented in an area, he continues to work hard and perservere.

» being helpful also seems to be a natural part of who he is. perhaps because he's experienced his fair share of difficulties in his life, he does what he can to lessen the load for others. even when he can't seem to take care of his own self, he won't hesitate to reach out and offer assistance to those who look like they're struggling.

» the best thing about eunsang is his sincerity. he's someone you can trust to be honest and know that whatever he says or expresses is completely genuine and the absolute truth. he's never thought too hard about hiding his emotions and always says what he means, believing that people need to hear some positive honesty in their daily lives.

» eunbi loves this about her dad. his playful nature makes it so easy for them to get along, bringing lots of laughter to his daughter's life. he's not afraid to look like a fool for her and her smile makes everything worth it. he's never been too serious or stoic of a person and it shows in his ability to goof off with children, putting a part of himself down for their sake.

» something he finds frustrating in his own self is how passive he is. as much as it irritates him, it's not something that can be so easily changed. he's afraid to speak back, moreso, he never seems to have the desire to. he believes he's a man of many faults and so he quietly takes people's criticisms, no matter how harsh, and dwells on them.

» he's quite a klutz. there doesn't seem to be a day that goes by where he hasn't bumped into something or injured himself. it usually manifests when he gets flustered, which happens quite easily. there are still many things he's not used to, from the trials of being a single dad to being cared for by others. his embarrassment quickly turns to panic and just creates a string of chaos as he fumbles around.

» during his younger years, he was easily discouraged. these days, he's gotten better at hiding it so it isn't as obvious for others to see but he does struggle a lot. he was into the life of parenthood rather quickly and with no guidance or preparation, he made many mistakes. it was easy for him, with that soft and wounded heart of his, to be hard on himself. he constantly feels as if he's lacking as a person and is quick to blame himself when something goes wrong.

» eunsang wishes he could be calm and collected like others but that's just not who he is. he's actually quite quick to emotions, mainly from being so overwhelmed by having to do this life on his own. he carries a lot of hurt and still has trouble overcoming his past trauma and fears of abandonment. mix that with his strong desire to be a good parent and a constant string of blunders and inability and it's understandable why he seems so frail. eunbi tends to be the reason behind a lot of his tears. he carries so much guilt towards his daughter, wanting to give her so much more than he's able to and it hurts him beyond belief. he truly loves her and wouldn't trade her for the world but there are days when he wishes she would trade him for a better father and maybe even a mother. she deserves better than him is a mindset that seems to overpower him, especially when things seem to go wrong.

still fighting it

BACKGROUND
i. being left
his father had passed away when he was only one, never really having known the man. it was just him and his mom, alone against the world. she had no immediate family to turn to, her and her husband having run away to get eloped against their wishes. when eunsang was ten and she was struggling to raise him and keep a job, she simply gave up and left him at an orphanage, leaving him to wonder if there was something wrong with him that she didn't want to be with him any longer.

ii. the first love
he never had many friends growing up. people constantly seemed to single him out or make fun of him for being an orphan, someone they associated with gloom and loss. even when he seemed to muster up the courage to defend himself, he'd have no one to support him when parents got involved.

until he met kwon yejin. she was the first person to stick up for him during his first year of high school and ever since, he followed after her like a puppy. she never really thought much of it. in fact, she'd stood up for him simply because she was annoyed at the loud fuss everyone was making when she was trying to nap before class started. eventually, she got used to having him around, enjoying the fact that he was so willing to do anything for her. they started to date and during their senior year, she convinced him to sleep with her.

iii. sweat and tears
he was shocked when she told him she was pregnant and even moreso when her true attitude seemed to shine through as she suggested they break up before college began. she wanted to leave high school behind, a time for her where she just fooled around and had fun. she told him that she would give birth to the baby but she wouldn't be responisble for it and she was true to her word, leaving the hospital as quickly as they would allow her. eunsang was now left with a child, abandoned once again.

too old to stay at the orphanage any longer, he gave up pursuing college in order to raise the baby, thankfully receiving help from his first boss. he worked part time at a market, his boss allowing him to stay in one of his empty rooms until he could afford to move out.

during those days, eunsang couldn't remember actually living. it seemed as if he was simply doing everything by routine. all of it was too much for him and he fell into a state of depression. he would care for eunbi when she needed it but he could hardly recall anything from those days. it was as if she was background noise in the numbness of his life.

it wasn't until she turned two that he managed to pull himself together. eunbi suddenly came down with a fever and he rushed her to the hospital, his feet almost moving on their own. as he waited for her, he couldn't help but remember that this had been the very same hospital when yejin had left him. all the hurt and pain he had been holding in for all that time suddenly seemed to swell in his chest and all he could think about was wanting it all to end. he was constantly being left behind, wasn't he? no one would miss him if he disappeared from this earth. no one needed him to stay. no one wanted him.

as he became lost in his thoughts, a nurse's voice snapped him out of the abyss. his daughter was crying, she told him. he rushed over to her room to see her turn her head and reach out for him with outstretched arms, the word "daddy" continuously flowing out of her between cries. it was in that exact moment that he seemed to finally come back to reality after the last two years. he rushed to her side, embracing her in his arms as he sobbed out apologies, hugging her tight as a promise to never let her go.

it was then that he decided, if he couldn't live for himself, he'd live for eunbi.

iiii. present day
eunbi has grown up quite well and his life has brightened up since then. after spending days laboring away at several different jobs, he managed to move out of his boss's house and even open up his own little flower shop. life seemed to be going well. at the very least, it was much better than before. he lives every day, clinging onto the promise he made back then. he would never make her cry and search for him ever again. he would never let her experience the pain of abandonment.
LIKES the smell of flowers, seeing his daughter happy, homecooked meals, sunny days, spending time with eunbi, folding laundry, talking about flowers, gardens, discovering new cafes
DISLIKES being asked who eunbi's mom is, seeing pity in people's faces when they find out he's a single dad, messing up, not being able to buy eunbi what she wants, bitter food, confrontations
TRIVIAS
✔ cannot cook. he doesn't want to feed his precious baby girl ramen for the rest of her life but whenever he tries to cook, it never seems to turn out right. eunbi, being the angel she is, will eat his horrendous creations anyways.
✔ he never had the chance to learn how to drive or get a license, having been too busy with making money straight out of high school.
✔ rides his bike almost everywhere.
✔ his fingers are covered in bandaids, usually cute ones picked out by eunbi. he gets pricked with thorns at work and considering how bad he is in the kitchen, he's never seemed to avoid getting cuts and bruises here and there.
✔ he has an extremely low alcohol tolerance but he rarely drinks so it doesn't matter much.
✔ on the rare occasion that he does end up drinking, he gets very loopy and stumbles around all over the place as he mumbles nonsense before passing out.
✔ both he and eunbi are bad with horror but he finds it so endearing whenever she tries to act tough and say she'll protect him, only for the two of them to scream at the smallest thing.
✔ he always feels bad when the holidays come around, worried that eunbi would feel left out amongst her peers when they talk about all their families getting together. he goes out of his way to make every holiday as special as he can.
✔ he's been called to eunbi's school multiple times due to her getting into fights with people who for not having a mom.
✔ eunbi is horrible with directions and he always reminds her to never go anywhere alone.
✔ she doesn't have a phone and he has a pretty old and outdated one because they can't really afford luxuries. money goes to their needs, not their wants.
✔ they have one computer at home, which is where eunbi will watch her shows.
✔ eunbi is very good at managing her money, aware that her dad struggles to pay the bills on time. he hates the fact that she holds back on what she wants for his sake and tries to spoil her as much as he can afford to.
✔ he loves korean food and eunbi loves chicken and pizza. she can't handle spicy food while he has a much better tolerance.
✔ his favorite flower is the forget-me-not.
✔ whenever they have time, he loves to take eunbi out and about. although he stresses the importance of school and education to her, he also wants her to have a good balance of work and play and would rather she go to a regular college with happy memories and a good personality than an ivy league with nothing but study skills.
✔ he gets really excited about sales when grocery shopping but is also too timid to fight over food with the housewives there.
✔ he cried on her first day of school, not wanting to be apart from her. she, on the other hand, didn't cry until he was out of sight. from a young age, she realized she had to be strong for her dad.
✔ the two of them love ice cream and make it a tradition to go to the mini mart and buy whatever frozen treat they want when they had a bad day.
✔ he gets emotional whenever he has to take eunbi to the hospital, hating to see his daughter in any sort of pain, even if it's for a simple flu shot.
✔ he has no idea how to take a selfie. the results of his attempts are horrendous.
✔ lives in a one bedroom apartment. eunbi gets the room and he sleeps on the living room couch.
✔ owns a small flower shop called eunbi's garden
✔ provides flowers for yonsei uni's gardening club and often stops by to help out
✔ has a hard time disciplining eunbi or just being firm in general. luckily, he doesn't have to do it much
✔ has a poor immune system and catches colds quite easily
QUOTES
✔ "tadah! daddy made dinner!" a minute later ... "should i order a pizza?"
✔ "i won't become my mom. i won't abandon my child just because it gets hard."
✔ "my precious eunbi! did you miss daddy while you were at school?"
✔ "i'm sorry but .. i can stand when people yell at me but i'd like it if you would watch what you say about my daughter. she's a kind and sweet child. she would never lash out unless someone attacked her first."

OCCUPATION an elementary school student

eunbi is the absolute light of eunsang's life. she's bright, positive, and the strongest child he knows. in many ways, she is the reason why he's able to work hard and live on. he would really do anything for her. having eunsang being a very passive person, eunbi learned from a young age that she needed to be strong, determined to protect her father and keep him grounded, just as he constantly looks out for her. there are many times where she appears too mature for her age but she had to learn to take care of herself during the situations that eunsang seemed to fumble in. she's an angel in his eyes but she's also extremely tough and will not hesitate to speak up against anyone who treats her or her father wrong. she's the perfect balance to match his soft and passive attitude. but of course, she's still just a child who needs her daddy just as much as he needs her.

life direction
ever since he was young, eunsang struggled with the concept of loneliness and abandonment. the belief that he was someone that could easily be thrown away became engraved in his heart and he doesn't find much value in himself – which explains why he lets people walk all over him without as much as a word of defense. his father passing away, his mother abandoning him, and his girlfriend throwing him away, they were all too much for the boy's heart and they became the foundations for how he started to see himself.

he was at his lowest when he first decided to raise eunbi on his own and after the entire ordeal of wanting to simply let go of everything, he was brought back to his senses by his daughter and now he clings to her like she's all he knows. she's his sole purpose for living and at times, it seems a bit dangerous as to how much of his worth goes into her. he's forgotten about things like dreams and desires, putting everything he has into raising his daughter and nothing more.

because of this, he destroys himself whenever he messes up. raising a child on your own without much preparation for the lifestyle is beyond difficult. he doesn't have any examples of what a parent should be and he lacks in so many areas. every time he slips up, he beats himself up with so much self hatred that it's no wonder he's become someone so fragile. in front of his daughter, he puts on a brave smile but behind closed doors, he's falling apart and is utterly terrified. she's his angel, his everything, and he wants nothing but the best for her but how could a father like him be that for her?

as he meets joowon and spends more time with him, he's constantly being told how wonderful of a person he is and although he doesn't believe a single word of it, as it goes on, he can't help but start wanting to believe. the kindness of joowon's words and support push him to want to become stronger for both his daughter's sake and his own.

an important turning point would be when his daughter is being yelled at, once again, for fighting back against a group of bullies. normally, eunsang would just take it but as he continues to hear such hurtful words being thrown at both him and his daughter, he takes the confidence joowon has been building up in him and finally stands up for himself, fighting back even if he still trembles in fear. he no longer wishes for eunbi to witness her father being nothing but a punching bag and decides that he needs to become even stronger to properly protect his child.

there are two important arcs to eunsang's story, in my opinion. one of them being his determination to fight back against the lies in his head and stand up for himself. he achieves this first and though it's not an instant change, he continues to fight back whenever he can, wanting to become a proper role model for his daughter and finally give her the chance to just be a kid instead of having to fight for him.

the other would be his relationship with joowon. the acceptance of his own feelings and the decision to chase after them would be the first time he's allowed himself to be selfish and turn away from the fear that he'd just be left behind again. it would be an incredibly emotional and cathartic moment for him as he finally breaks through the tight bounds on his heart. he'd learn that it's okay for him to put himself first, even as a father. if he continues to be unhappy under the guise of being a sacrificial dad, he won't be able to bring true happiness to eunbi either as she'll only grow up with guilt. meeting joowon has changed him for the better. or rather, it's given him the strength to draw out the kind of person he always was deep down. finally reaching out to him and confessing his desires to be together is the moment where he can finally break free from the chains of his past.

interview
HELLO, IT'S NICE TO MEET YOU. NOW, BEFORE WE START, CAN YOU INTRODUCE YOURSELF?
he bows his head as he makes his way towards the seat, apologizing to the inanimate object as he bumps into it before giving a second bow with a soft smile on his face once he's comfortable. "ah, hi - hello - my name is nam eunsang. i'm 27 years old and a proud father of the most beautiful little girl in the world." his face brightens a bit the second he mentions his daughter, hands that were slightly fidgeting now clasped together and resting on his lap.

WHAT ARE YOUR CURRENT GOALS  IN LIFE? DO YOU HAVE A LIFE MOTTO OR PRINCIPLE YOU LIVE BY?
"goals?" he takes a moment to pause, a bit taken aback by the question. it wasn't something he had been asked much in his life and he had already thrown away any selfish desires after becoming a father. "i just wish to be the best dad i can possibly be to my baby girl. i'm sure i'll stumble and mess up but i just want to become a dad who won't disappoint her or ever hurt her." his words are firm, dripping with nothing but truth and yet, his voice is quiet, chest tightening as the memories of his own hurts and shortcomings seem to drown him in waves. he says nothing for a couple moments more before snapping back to attention, a soft pink hue dusting his cheeks. "s sorry - what was the second question? oh - right. mm, my life motto? it's just to do the best that i can. a lot of people in this country strive to be the best and it can become scary to see where that mindset might drive you. i want to be just satisfied having done all i could."

WHAT ARE THREE WORDS YOU IMAGINE PEOPLE DESCRIBE YOU AS?
a loser. unwanted. a screw up. disgrace. too many words filled his head in mere seconds and he lowered his gaze, hands now unclasped as his fingers began to anxiously fiddle with the hem of his shirt. surely the mood would become uncomfortable if he admitted to such words but he couldn't think of anything else. three words? positive traits? did he even have any of those? wasn't it because he lacked them that everyone seemed to leave? "i..." he was taking too long to respond. "my daughter, eunbi, would probably describe me as fun? maybe gentle...? ah, and definitely a klutz." he said the last word with a small laugh, eyes fond in the memories of his daughter. where would he be without her?

HOW DO YOU WANT TO BE REMEMBERED LATER IN LIFE?
"a good father." he response is instant. he doesn't have anything he desires as much as this and it's the one thing he can speak with confidence and conviction to anyone who asks.

ANY LAST WORDS BEFORE WE END? IT'S BEEN GREAT HAVING YOU.
"ah - no - it's been great to be here! i'm not sure - um, thank you for having me! i'm not sure if it was a very interesting way to spend your time but uh - oh yes - i i also run a small flower shop in case you're ever in need of any floral arrangements!" he grins, a bit sheepish for bringing it up.

dear love interest,
CURRENT STATUS strangers

THE STORY
first meeting
perhaps it was fate that out of all the flower shops in korea, joowon happened to step into eunsang's. he was looking to place a large order, wanting some flowers to decorate his restaurant with and bring some vibrant color and life to the room. eunsang was in the middle of eating his lunch, scraps from his failed attempt at making his daughter a school lunchbox, and as he rushed to gather some flowers to present, joowon caught a glimpse of the horrid excuse for food he had just been eating. eunsang caught his stare and as he fumbled over an explanation in embarrassment, joowon couldn't help but blurt out some critiques and suggestions on the food. he offered some casual cooking tips on how to improve and before he left, he handed eunsang his business card with the address of his restaurant on it. inviting him to come over when he closed up shop, he left to head to work.

don't worry. i'm not a weird guy and if you feel uneasy after looking at the exterior, you don't have to come in."

development
eunsang decided to check it out after he closed and picked up eunbi from her daycare. the two of them stepped into the restaurant, eunsang letting out a meek "hello?" as eunbi's eyes lit up from the pretty and chic interior.

joowon, who had been in the kitchen, came out to greet them with a smile. he took notice of eunbi and immediately gave her a second greeting, winning over her almost immediately. casually poking some fun at eunsang's lack of cooking skill, he bonded with eunbi as the two of them teased the flustered male.

"ah, but to be honest, seeing that meal made me want to feed you some proper cooking. if you don't mind waiting, i can prepare something for you two."

he even refused payment, insisting that this was on the house, especially after he came in with such a big and difficult floral order earlier during the day. every now and then, he peeked out of the kitchen to catch a glimpse of eunsang talking and goofing around with his daughter, a small smile forming on the chef's face at the sight.

bringing out some korean food, he places kimchi stew in front of eunsang and bulgogi in front of eunbi, along with several other dishes. eunbi's eyes go wide at the feast in front of her and she digs in, falling in love with the delicious taste. eunsang watches her fondly before he tries the stew, pausing as he's suddenly hit with a pang of emotion, eyes tearing.

"i- is it too spicy? ah, i should have asked whether you liked spicy food or not- that was stupid of me-"

"no no ,, it's delicious ,," eunsang pauses, as if collecting himself before looking up with a genuine smile. "it's a taste that makes me long for the warmth of a home i never even had."

and just like that, joowon begins falling for this sentimental and soft man. he had always loved the feeling of people enjoying the food he made but in that moment, it felt as if he had actually given a bit of healing through his cooking and as he watched the two of them genuinely happy and grateful for his food, he couldn't help but want to reach out even more.

he begins to visit the flower shop even more, coming by on the weekends, much to eunbi's delight. thankfully, she loves his cooking and eventually, he's invited over to personally teach eunsang how to cook or just simple ways he can improve for eunbi's sake. it's natural, the way he kind of just becomes a part of their life, but as his feelings for eunsang grows, he realizes that eunbi is currently eunsang's number one priority.

eunsang is constantly thinking about his daughter that he doesn't have time to pay attention to the other's advances, believing the other simply likes to or make him flustered just for laughs. it isn't until eunbi goes on an overnight field trip with her class that he's able to spend time with just joowon and realize that he's been depending on him, always naturally looking for him and expecting him to be in his life.

he's confused and a bit distressed at his newfound feelings for the older male. eunbi is always his number one and he doesn't even know how she would feel about him having a significant other in his life. and then there's all the baggage of abandonment that weighs on his heart. he's afraid to get close, terrified that the moment he admits he wants joowon, he'll end up leaving like the rest. he tends to run away from his feelings but he can't deny that his heart wants to chase after it. joowon is completely understanding, aware that eunsang probably has fears and concerns even if he doesn't voice them. he does his best to treat both eunsang and eunbi well in the meantime.

INTERACTIONS joowon is a bit of a flirt, his confidence and blunt nature making it easy for him to not shy away from his feelings. eunsang, on the other hand, isn't someone who would be open about his feelings, let alone be aware of them. he denies any feelings of desire, strongly believing that he isn't allowed to want anything. it seems almost wrong to long for someone when he's so convinced that he's someone who isn't worth staying with.

joowon is quite attentive when it comes to eunsang and as he catches onto the way the younger perceives himself, he does his best to constantly speak nothing but praise in hopes of getting him to understand his own worth. he's not the type to simply say words he doesn't mean and is determined to help eunsang break out of his own self hatred.

when the two of them are by themselves, joowon does have a tendency to be much more touchy, of course, still within the bounds of reason. he would hate to do anything to make eunsang uncomfortable so he does his best not to do anything too extreme. a pat on the head, gentle tugs at his waist to move him around, a brush of his fingers against the other's hand when walking side by side, an occassional caress on the cheek to calm him down, and others. physical touch is his way of showing his affections and it always draws out a confused but still flustered reaction from eunsang who isn't used to being touched like he's something that's being treasured.

of course, when eunbi is around, the touching and flirting isn't as obvious. joowon knows that eunsang is always hyper aware of his daughter and doesn't want to put him in a situation of discomfort. unknown to eunsang, eunbi has already caught on to joowon's feelings and has been secretly rooting for her father's happiness for a while now. once she makes her stance known to joowon, she ends up being quite the helpful little wingman by letting him know her father's likes, dislikes, schedule, and when he's in need of assistance. she'll even take matters into her own hands and call joowon up to help them spend as much time as they can together.

eunsang is completely unaware of joowon's feelings, even after the constant advances. it's just not a concept he can wrap his head around. why would anyone want to be with him? he's not anything special. he can't be that great of a person that someone would want to spend their life with him. his detrimental lack of confidence and focus on only his daughter makes it a bit impossible for him to even fathom the idea of being in a romantic relationship but despite all of that, his own feelings are blossoming without him being aware of them.

with all the loneliness he carries, it seems almost inevitable that he would crave love. in his struggle of being a single dad, there are so many times where he wishes he had someone to help him when he fails, to hold him when he breaks, and to tell him that he's doing a good job. that he's not alone and that he's okay as he is. his brokenness seems to have become attached to joowon far before eunsang becomes aware of his own emotions and when he comes to that realization, it feels like he's doing something forbidden and wrong. he tries to shut down his feelings but he can't help wanting to reach out and grab hold of joowon before it's too late.

joowon would do anything for eunsang and eunbi and makes sure to stand up for them whenever he can. it angers him more than anything to find out that they were hurt in any form and he couldn't be there to help.

TRIVIA
✔ eunbi is always whispering to joowon about eunsang, telling him things to watch out for or just asking him to look out for her dad.
✔ joowon eventually starts making lunch boxes for eunsang, wanting an excuse to stop by the flower shop and also wanting him to eat well.
✔ unlike eunsang, joowon isn't afraid to talk back to people who say and he's always standing up for him and eunbi.
✔ he actually specializes in italian food but since eunsang loves korean food, that's usually what he ends up making.
✔ he grew up as an only child and so he loves playing around with eunbi.
✔ whenever he comes over, he always takes note of the things that eunsang seems to have trouble with and works to fix it. if the room is a mess because eunsang didn't have time to clean, he'll help tidy up. when something's broken, he offers to fix it.
✔ he actually wants to be very physically affectionate with eunsang but does his best to hold back. he doesn't always succeed though.
✔ there are times when joowon feels like a giddy highschool girl when he texts eunsang. the man is whipped.

ENDING would absolutely love love love if they got together !!

eunbi would be 100% on board with it and after eunsang talks to his daughter, clearing up his fears and worries that she may feel like his love and attention for her is now going to another person, he musters up the courage to go to joowon and confess.

"i ,, i never knew how to hold onto people. i always felt like i had no right to grab them when they left me. but ,, even if i don't have the right ,, i want to hold onto you. i ,, i want to be selfish. i don't want you to leave me."

PERSONALITY

pos outgoing, confident, playful
blunt, strict, stubborn neg

he's the kind of guy anyone would have a crush on. along with his good looks, absolute professionalism at work, and his impeccable cooking skills, he also has a personality that's hard not to be attracted to. he always carries himself in a confident manner, mature enough to know that it doesn't matter what others have to say about it. he has the ability to make people very comfortable due to his outgoing and playful nature. it also comes in handy when interacting with his customers, treating them well and conversing with them whenever he checks up on everyone's satisfaction levels. his employees are all grateful for him, unable to feel a strong hierarchy at work and appreciate the fact that he doesn't try to step all over them just because he's the owner.

of course, there are times when he can be quite strict. if anything, he's firm. when there are things that need to be changed or addressed, he won't hesitate to speak his mind, even if it calls for some harsh scoldings to make sure the people he's speaking to are aware of their mistakes. he can also be quite blunt, words sometimes just coming out without much thought. he never means any harm, he just has a tendency to think out loud but it can rub people the wrong way. his tendency to be stubborn can also make things difficult for the people around him. even if he has good intentions, he has a hard time knowing when to back off. if there's something he wants, he's determined to get it and if he thinks a certain way, he tends not to yield until after he realizes he's made a bad decision.

BACKGROUND
→ joowon lived a fairly normal life. he had both parents and never experienced things such as poverty or heartbreak. life seemed almost mundane to him and if he was a character in a book, he would simply be someone in the background, one without a story to tell. he was grateful for this sense of normalcy and yet, he felt so empty.
→ when he began high school, he started his rebellious stage, craving something more in life than just simply going through the every day motions. he got into a handful of fights, his personality having a tendency to garner negative attention in his stage of immaturity and baseless confidence.
→ he started arguing more with his parents as he got older, needing a place to lash out onto to mask the increasing emptiness within. all they wanted was for him to live a simple life, maybe get an office job and live in routine every day with the reassurance of a constant moneyflow. that was the last thing he wanted. joowon wanted to find something that made him feel. everything felt so bland and dull, he needed something that gave him a sense of actually living.
→ it wasn't until his home ec class that he discovered the joy of cooking. there was something about using such basic ingredients to create a masterpiece that filled him with a sense of accomplishment. people praised his cooking and his confidence grew. this was his something, wasn't it? this was his calling. he loved the feeling of creating something that seemed to bring such genuine reactions from the people around him and unbeknownst to his parents, he enrolled in a culinary school to see just how far he could go.
→ his communication with his parents dwindled but he didn't pay too much mind. he had found a sense of purpose and dedicated his every day to improving his skills until he became well known amongst the field for his cooking. it was the first time in his life that he wanted to work so hard for something and slaved away in whatever opportunity he had until he saved enough money to open up a place of his own, making it his goal to have every customer leave with both a smile and a full stomach.

SCENE SUGGESTIONS
→ perhaps a scene where eunbi gets into a physical fight, yet again, with some kid and their parent comes over to yell at her and then at eunsang. "just how are you raising your daughter? her father doesn't know how to take care of her so it's no wonder she's growing up so indecently!" and he's kind of just quietly taking it all but the more the other parent goes on about eunbi, he can't help but get upset, fists clenching at his side. he can take people cursing him but he doesn't want anyone saying anything about his daughter. perhaps this could be resolved with him finally speaking out or maybe joowon is passing by and comes to his rescue?? ?
→ eunsang gets sick and eunbi leaves home in search of joowon, wanting him to come take care of her dad. when eunsang wakes up, eunbi is gone and he panics, rushing out of the house and searching for her everywhere, asking everyone and anyone he knows if they've seen her. he goes to joowon, asking if he's seen eunbi and he says he hasn't. the two of them search for her until they finally find her, sitting down in a nearby neighborhood after getting lost. eunsang rushes over to her and scolds her for the first time in his life, overwhelmed with emotion as all the worry leaves him. the two of them end up crying and joowon walks them back home, staying to cook them a dinner to help calm them down.
→ yELLS maybe also a really cute scene where eunsang, joowon, and eunbi go grocery shopping like a little family and it's just so cUTE
→ joowon and eunsang are cooking dinner and joowon comes up behind eunsang to reach for seasoning that's resting on a high shelf. it's the classic kdrama scene where he's kind of pressed up against eunsang and eunsang just turns his head and the two of them realize how close in proximity they are to each other. and they're kind of lost in the moment until eunbi marches in with her loud declaration of hunger and the both of them panic, joowon dropping the seasoning, making it rain all over eunsang's head.

Hello! I was wondering if I could put/mention Yoo Seulong in my app since my character works at GWSC. The general gist of things would be that even if my chara has an university degree, he didn't manage to be hired into a big corporation because of his disability and somewhat he meets Seulong and he proves he's a good baker so he gets hired.
Let me know what you think and if you have other ideas! You can reply me in DMs too if you preffer!
(Bonus that our characters would be around the same age, so they could be friends too, if you want!)
