ophelia has a tattoo on her left forearm and right thigh. she has a birthmark on the back of her neck that is faintly shaped like a heart. unlike most korean american girls, ofey is a little curvier at 70 kg. standing at 170 cm, she can indeed reach the top shelf of her kitchen cabinet. while she is well-known among her classmates and colleagues for "thighs that would crush your skull", her long black hair, the beauty mark on her left cheek, and even tan skin is her signature.

ofey's style is a mix between skater and y2k baddie. most of the time, ofey is dressed to the nines. in the 3%, she is in her bumwear. her favorite articles of clothing are her flannels (she owns 15 different flannels, and counting). she justifies her flannel purchases with their "versatility" and how you can easily dress an outfit down by layering a flannel. as for her makeup, she puts little to no effort in the routine: sheer foundation, bronzer, eyebrows, lashes, and lip gloss. a spritz (or two, if she misses) of setting spray and she's set.

most people perceive ofey to be wishy-washy. it's more of a matter of her being a dramatic person. one would think she's a theater major. she's definitely not some cutthroat business woman, although her resting face says otherwise. anything that she's thinking comes out of . it usually sounds harsh, but saying it out loud helps her thought process. so it isn't advised to take everything she says to heart.
ophelia is always quick to aid her friends and family. everything she does, she does it from the bottom of her heart and never half-assed. anyone who knows ofey knows she's a child at heart. she's always saying dumb and doing dumber for laughs. she likes staying busy and can never not do anything. with a child-like mindset, she's not one to hold grudges. she forgives and forgets. she doesn't like being told what to do and will quite do the opposite of what she's being told.
BACKGROUND
ophelia is a 3rd generation korean-american and the youngest daughter of the san diego destiny hospital's ceo (edward rhee, 57) and director (lauren kang, 55). both of her parents worked at the location from pre-med to their residency to becoming head of their departments. growing up, ophelia was taught that one's family is one of the most important things in one's life. her parents followed through and set the example. they are very loving and dote on their children often.
ophelia was never a problem child. she has two older brothers, isaac (30) and simon (25). isaac is currently a resident surgeon, specializing in neurological surgery. simon is just beginning medical school. like all older brothers, she often gets teased, but her brothers are quite over protective of her. the three are especially close; they are able to treat each other with actual respect and revert back to their childhood with the way they'll play and pull pranks.
everyone in her family are all pursuing a career in the medical field. being the baby of her family, she got away with going after a bachelor's degree in sports medicine/physical therapy. but should she change her mind, she can continue in med school to become a specialist. her end goal is to travel the world helping those in less fortunate countries. if it were truly up to her, [ofey] would be doing something that had anything to do with food.
the rhee family often host benefits and lots of casual get togethers for fundraising or networking. typically, californian elites and doctors are invited to such events. sometimes, special occasions call for high society from across the nation and out of country.

SCHEDULE
MONDAYS, she has her major focused courses: physiology and exercise, sports injury management, & therapeutic exercise. "since mondays , might as well go through the misery" she's on campus the whole day and she's usually done for the day by 3pm
TUESDAYS, she has focus courses and her science courses: anatomy, nutrition, & neuroscience. class starts as early as 7am. she's on campus all day and gets out by 10pm.
WEDNESDAYS, she just has her science classes which are in the evenings. they begin at 4pm and she's out by 10pm.
THURSDAYS, she dedicates to her schoolwork and rarely ever goes out... unless her boyfriend drags her out.
FRIDAYS THROUGH SUNDAYS, her weekends are typically free for plans unless the medical and physical therapy departments hold seminars or workshops. if it were up to ofey, she'd be riding her longboard and hanging out with her friends.
COLLEGE LIFE
once ophelia puts her mind to something, she gets it done. she is very serious about the direction she decided on for her future. she's the kind of student who will go above and beyond for big assignments. it helps that she is very creative. she doesn't do any extracurriculars, as her hands would be full with the events her family hosts. ophelia does invite the crew to these events on the condition that they are well-behaved.
she lives alone in an apartment off campus, paid for by her parents. ophelia's apartment is very nicely decorated and organized, you'd think she already has a stable career. although she receives allowance from her parents as well, ophelia does work part-time in the university medical center for experience. she hosts a game night and a wine night every month.
RELATIONSHIPS hover.
ofey and leo have been friends since her freshman orientation week. she was visiting booths that piqued her interest. she was about to approach the film major's table until an attractive, tall and energetic man caught her eye. she couldn't possibly go over there; she'd make a fool of herself. leo noticed she was going to come up to the booth but was about to turn around. he tried to stop her, but she was insisting that she wasn't allowed to (her own rules, not her parents'). she tripped over another booth's display and rolled her ankle. leo escorted [ophelia] to the infirmary, taking the opportunity to get to know her - thus the friendship hath been born. ofey matches leo's energy: from the corny puns to the screaming competitions. initially, ofey had a crush on leo and became his friend to admire him. over time, the feelings eventually became platonic.
juno and ofey were introduced to each other by leo. they met at a film festival to support leo and his short film (sophomore end of the year project). ofey is "good vibes"-oriented and juno didn't pass the vibe check, at first. she didn't like the way juno's "i hate life" approach rubbed ofey the wrong way, and ofey's headassery annoys juno just as much as leo. as time goes by with leo dragging everyone places together - most of the time, [juno and ofey] are back and forth with the passive aggressive and snarky remarks. they are pretty good at remaining cordial, but each of their existence bothers the other. this is the frenemyship the hollywood writes about, but if they can come together for something: it's people watching and calling folks out for their questionable life choices.
once upon a tinder swipe, ofey was on the prowl for a friend with benefits toward the end of her sophomore year. in the end, she got herself a boyfriend. nathan and ophelia's love story started with what was meant to be a movie and a quickie, and it turned out to be a deep convo and some cuddling. later on, they agreed this was going to be no strings attached type of relationship (they aren't together but they are hooking up). they do things lots of couples do and lots of folks (even leo) believes they are more than just friends. eventually, they got together and are now constantly the talk of their majors. they are the kind of couple every relationship strives to be (ex. deven and eileen on tiktok). he is very intelligent, therefore, the epitome of conversation starters. he had always kept an air of mystery for himself, but the way ophelia always kept a smile on her face was more of a mystery to him. ophelia easily cracked his hard exterior and thus revealed a really clever and funny man.

the history of nico and ofey truly begin when they were in high school. they had met several times as children, due to their parents being acquaintances, but the relationship isn't comparable between distant and recent past. nico bonds with ofey over anime, while ofey bonds with nico over food. they are an annoying pair, what with their weeb tendencies (they do weeb things as a joke). the two most loved interests are shared between the two. ophelia is constantly at odds with nico because, the fact of the matter is, nicolai is a . although she is known to be quite the drama queen, she scolds him mentally and physically. she's always threatening to pop his baby factory. folks of the crew also pit them against each other in a "who's parents are richer" contest.

the two are mutual friends because of leo. they were formally (not really) introduced after leo practically took ofey under his wing her freshman year (leoden's sophomore year). the dynamic between cayden and ophelia are comparable to bob and louise belcher (bob's burgers) aka [cayden's] a regular chaperone to leo and ophelia's shenanigans. in his eyes, ofey is the girl version of leo and treats her as he would treat leo. in the beginning of their friendship, there was an awkwardness because of the difference in their personalities. as time went on, their interactions became more natural. one could say that ophelia is the little sister cayden never had, but never wanted either.

juniper and ophelia are really only acquaintances with mutual respect for each other. they met through leo and juno. juniper plays referee when juno and ofey are having one of their regular spats. from ophelia, there's the occasional "bro, mind your business" snap towards juniper. ofey doesn't have anything against juniper, just the fact that she's juno's girlfriend type thing. she does, however, find it fascinating how juniper is into criminal justice. so ophelia often talks about crime drama with juniper and usually asks how accurate certain situations are. over time, the two will become friends.

after being introduced to cherry by leo and juno, ophelia was very quick to welcome her with open arms. ophelia can sense if someone is introverted, and cherry painfully likes to keep to herself.it took a while for cherry to to warm up to ophelia. they have that classic wallflower and loud best friend dynamic.
