PERSONALITY

The good stuff:

Curious - When it comes to new ideas, Tara isn't interested in waiting – she wants to go out and experience things, and doesn't hesitate to step out of her comfort zones to do so. Campaigners is imaginative and open-minded, seeing all things as part of a big, mysterious puzzle called life.
Observant - Tara believes that there are no irrelevant actions, that every shift in sentiment, every move and every idea is part of something bigger. To satisfy her curiosity, Tara tries to notice all of these things, and to never miss a moment.
Enthusiastic -  As she observes, forming new connections and ideas, Tara won’t hold her tongue. When she'll share it with anyone who’ll listen. This infectious enthusiasm has the dual benefit of giving her a chance to make more social connections, and of giving her a new source of information and experience.
Communicative - Tara enjoys both small talk and deep, meaningful conversations, which are just two sides of the same coin for her, and is adept at steering conversations towards her desired subjects in ways that feel completely natural and unforced.
Relaxed - It’s not all “nature of the cosmos” discussions with Tara – she knows that sometimes, nothing is as important as simply having fun and experiencing life’s joys. Having that help her know when it’s time to shake things up, and these wild bursts of enthusiastic energy can surprise even her closest friends.
Friendly - All this adaptability and spontaneity comes together to form a person who is approachable, interesting and exciting, with a cooperative and altruistic spirit and friendly, empathetic disposition. Tara can get along with pretty much everyone.

The Not So Good Stuff:

Impractical - When it comes to conceiving ideas and starting projects, especially involving other people, Tara can have exceptional talent. Unfortunately her skill with upkeep, administration, and follow-through on those projects struggles. Without more hands-on people to help push day-to-day things along, Tara's ideas are likely to remain just that – ideas.
Unfocused - Tara is a natural explorer but this backfires when what needs to be done is that report sitting right in front of her. It’s hard for her to maintain interest as tasks drift towards routine, tedious matters, and away from bigger pictures and broader concepts.
Overthinker - Tara doesn't take things at face value, she looks for underlying motives in even the simplest things. It’s not uncommon for her to lose a bit of sleep asking herself why someone did what they did, what it might mean, and what to do about it.
Easily Stressed -  Tara is very sensitive, and cares deeply about others’ feelings. A consequence of her socialism is that others often look to her for guidance and help, which takes time, and it’s easy to see why she can sometimes get a bit overwhelmed, especially when she can’t say yes to every request.
Over Emotional - While emotional expression is healthy and natural, it can come out strongly enough to cause problems for this Tara. Particularly when under stress, criticism or conflict, Tara can experience emotional bursts that are counter-productive at best.
Independent - Tara loathes being micromanaged and restrained by heavy-handed rules – she wants to be seen as a highly independent master of her own life. The challenge for her is that she live in a world of checks and balances, a pill she's not happy to swallow.

B.
BACKGROUND:
Most people have heard of mutants, how they are different, and how the X-Men brought them to the forefront, popularizing them somehow. Most people remember when it was revealed that they were everywhere. Their genes giving them amazing abilities.

Tara has heard the stories over and over again. The tense history mutants have had all over the world.

Her father had walked with the X-Men and had walked against them long before she was ever born.

Tara was born right at the end of 90's, most not really knowing what had happened in that short span of time that Erik Lehnsherr could have another daughter before the turn of the century.

Tara knew her father, the man choosing to stay for as long as her could during her childhood. She has pictures and memories of him, but he was forced to leave her when she was 11.

After that, it was just Tara and her mother, which didn't bother her any. Her mother wasn't a mutant, but she didn her best to help her daughter understand her powers. She was unfortunately diagnosed with cancer and passed away when Tara was 16.

Then she was shipped off to where all mutants seem to grow up, The School for Gifted Youngsters.

Her time there was interesting, word getting around who she was and speculation on what exactly it was she could do.

She was added to the X-Men five years into her stay there, her powers proving an asset, which she did at the time consider a great honor. She felt like she was following in her absent father's footsteps.

But it didn't take long for Tara to start seeing the cracks. They seemed way too comfortable putting innocent lives in some risk, they didn't have any qualms about a team member going down, and there did seem to be an air of superiority that some of the team members had. She was well aware of how her father felt about mutants, but she never shared that sentiment. And seeing her teammates feel that way was a huge red flag for her.

It all came to a head when her fellow teammates had let her get scooped up, taken in by who she discovered was a group of scientists. Her powers greatly interested them and in the ensuring chaos, they were able to take her.

It was months of expirimentation and weaponization before she was rescued, but by that point, the damage had been done. Her faith in the team and that organization was shattered.

She walked away from the team, deciding to find herself a new home.

CURRENTLY

At the moment, she's adjusting to the chaos that the snap reversal had caused. She's moving from place to place, almost nomadically, saving people when she can. She doesn't at the moment have plans to slow down, but she is eager to actually start helping a much bigger way.

THE SNAP: No.

DETAILS: Tara didn't have a lot of time to figure things out before the snap changed everything. She avoided disappearing, but she had a feeling the school had been hit hard. She fought the strong urge to check in and see if they needed any help, opting to prioritize herself.

She was contacted by the heros that were left within the Avengers for help and offered her services when appropriate, but she mostly tried to live some kind of normal life by herself. The anguish felt all over the world was more than overwhelming.

Rita wasn't every planning on being the mother of a mutant, she wasn't ever banking on the idea that she would have to give her daughter to the world so she could save it time and time again, but she wouldn't have traded a second of it.

She left her daughter with every dollar she had when she passed away.

"Tara, you're so special. And the world is gonna need that sooner than you think."

His difficult and frought history certainly didn't end when he had his youngest daughter, and he wouldn't allow his past to undermine her life like it had to so many other people he cared about.

If he's still around, he thinks of her from time to time but she hasn't seen him in 15 years.

"She deserves more than what I will ever be able to offer her."

Chloë Moretz | Chloe grace, Chloe grace moretz, Chloe moretz
The two of them were in the same sub-unit of the X-men, and is the only person Tara still talks to regularly from her time there.

Margret understands Tara's rage at what happened to her. She was a victim of the snap and has been doing her best to adjust being back.

She hopes Tara will call on her if she's in trouble of some kind.

"She didn't ask for any of that, but hopefully she can put that aside for her own good."
ALIAS: Catalyst
IDENTITY: She used to be out in the public eye when she was working with the X-Men, but now a days, she tries to keep her work under wraps. She'd go back out to the public though if she needed to.

PROCESS: She was born with her powers, but she has also been expiriemented on because of them. They are extremely weaponizable in the wrong hands.

POWERS:
Telepathy - The ability to see inside someone's mind and control it if need be.
Empathy - The ability to feel and channel someone else's emotions.

Tara is a threat to anyone who uses their emotions to channel their powers. If their powers are tied to their emotions, Tara can tap into that emotional center and use those powers as if they were her own. With the ability to read another's mind, she has access on the instructions to those powers as well.

Her father, Erik, is a great example of this.

Handicaps:
She is vulnerable to other telepaths.
She has to be close enough to someone to channel their powers. If that person moves out of range, she loses access to their emotions and therefore, their powers.

MOTIVE: Tara asks herself this a lot. Why does she still fight? Why does she still want to be a hero? The answer is always the same.

Her mother.

Before she died, she told her daughter than she knew she was meant for more than stocking shelves or serving food. Her father had given her an amazing destiny and Tara promised she would go out and find what that is.

So she won't give up or walk away. She feels like this is what she's meant to be doing. What she's meant to be using her powers for.
