APPEARANCE. Hanmi is tall and thin, she doesnt like to work out but she does like to run so she has runners muscles. She has chest length dark brown hair that she usually keeps pulled in a bun on top of her head. 
She has pristine posture, she has required it of herself. When she was little she saw an older woman with a hunched back and she never wanted to see that on herself. She walks straight with her head up, refuses to slouch and even sits up straight. 
She has a tattoo on her left ring finger, just a band that is in place of her wedding ring. Once she was able to stop wearing her ring she got the tattoo
STYLE. Hanmi likes more earthtones and she dresses on the modest side. She will dress up once in a while but she usually goes for the nice blouse and skirt. Usually, she has heels on and her friends can tell when she's having a bad day because she will be wearing flats.

Hanmi can shut things out and focus on one thing, she has always been good at it but reciently she has been better at it. She doesnt always focus on the right thing, but she is still great at it. She has also been way more artistic lately, her work has shown it and her list of bookings has shown it. She is able to throw herself at her work with the ruse of being busy and not that she is trying to avoid going home. She cant seem to turn it off but she is observant of the most random things. She could remebmer the exact layout of a floral pattern from one wedding in the mountains two years ago but she doesn't remember to pack the right thing for Minjoo and doesn't notice that she is sending her daughter to school with the wrong supplies. Soemthing that everyone always says about her is that she is warm and can connect with strangers right away. She just has that aura about her where she seems like your friend from years ago on the first meeting. She has the biggest weakness for animals. She sees any and she wants it, it has lead to some problems but Kwangkeok always said it just showed her large heart. It has however put her in a few tight spots because she had to foster some animals...
Negative: Tired all the time, anxious, lack of interest, perfectionist, conciencious 
No matter how much sleep she gets or how much coffee she drinks, Hanmi is always tired, it has lead her to getting better at her makeup to hide it, but she just feels drained. She is worried she is going to miss something important for Minjoo, but she can't help it. She worries about things she has no real right worrying about. There was an outbreak in another country and she immediatly was terrified Minjoo was going to get sick, one of her customers changed their order and it was because she did something wrong with it, Seolbi didn't call her yesterday so clearly she is just pretending to like Hanmi and is only putting up with Hanmi because she pities the woman. She doesn't have the same interest as before, she used to love going on day long hikes in the mountains but now she has zero interest in going, all she wants to do is be at work or be in her bed. However, at the same time she is hyper focused on what she does; if it isnt perfect she gets upset with herself, then gets upset because she isnt doing things right and she knows how to do it, then she will burn herself out trying to make it 100% perfect and end up frustrated with it and leaving it till tomorrow, only to come back and relise it was fine in the first place. Every time she picks Minjoo's outfit she has to look absolutly perfect, she has thought about it but talks herself down every time that Minjoo should be wearing makeup to make herself look better. She keeps telling herself that society will make Minjoo feel bad about herelf eventually, she doesnt need it from her mom. Hanmi is also super focused on herself; does she look good today, is her work doing well, did she park her car right, even though it hasn't moved in months, is she doing whats right for Minjoo with food and clothes, her outfit doesnt look right she has to changed it again or she wont be able to get by at work. 

BACKGROUND.

phase I

Everyone knew Kim Hanmi and Wu Kwangkeok were going to end up together. Ever since their second year of high school they were the storybook romance couple. They were perfect together, sure they would fight about things but they always talked their issues out and never let the day end on a sour note. Kwangkeok stood outside Hanmi's house until three in the morning one day because they got into a huge fight, she eventually let him in out of the cold. 
The two of them went to Busan National Univeristy, she got a degree in business administration and he got a degree in history, before they moved in together. They had a small apartment but it was enough for them. 

phase II

Their wedding was a fairy tale. Hanmi looked like a disney princess come to life and Kwangkeok match as the prince. Things were going so good for them and they got a huge suprise. Turns out Hanmi was two months pregnant at the wedding and they were going to have a little one soon. Minjoo came with a fight but it was worth it when they finally got to see their little girl. 
The apartment was too small of the three of them so Kwangkeok started looking for new work so their could get a bigger house. He ended up getting a job at a university in Seoul and it came with a house near campus. They packed their lives up and moved across the country. 

phase III.

Kwangkeok was a professor for three years before he started his manditory military enlistment. He didn't mind, he wanted to be able to serve his country, he just felt bad about leaving his students. He was stationed with the army, was with a great group of guys and was more than half the way through his enlistment when it hit the fan. 
It was supposed to be a basic drill, not even live ammunition. Somehow live grenades got gathered and a spark got near it. Four members were dead on arrival of help, two more died on the way to the hospital and Kwangkeok was the only one to make it to the hospital. He died three days later with Hanmi and Minjoo with him. 

phase IV.

Hanmi struggled for a while. She didn't have to work, she was able to live off the pension for a while but she needed to get back to it. Her best friend helped her find a new place to live and they sorted through Kwangkeok's things. It was one of the hardest things she ever had to do but it had to be done. 
Hanmi, Minjoo and Seolbi all became roommates, mainly so Seolbi could help with Minjoo. It was a good thing too because even at four Minjoo was angry with her mom for her dad leaving. 
It took Hanmi a year before she was able to get a job and get back to life. She started at a wedding planner as an assistant but it was a job. 

phase V.

Three months ago Hanmi got a promotion so she and Minjoo were able to move and start living on their own. It wasn't so far that Minjoo had to change schools or anything, just enough that it was their own space. Things didn't get better though. Hanmi thought she was ready to be on her own and raise Minjoo but she wasn't. Minjoo was at the age where she could still remember her dad but she didn't understand why he wasn't here any more and she thought it was something her mom did. She wasn't trying to be a brat but she was, she never listened to anything Hanmi told her to do, she got into scuffls at school and refused to change her behavior. 
Minjoo started seeing a councilor and he suggested Hanmi start seeing someone too. If she wasn't ready for that step then he knew of a support group she could try.

2. how many children do you have? what are their names? is there anything you want to say about them? Minjoo, she's six. I wish I could get her to understand that daddy loves her so much and he is always with her, I would do anything for him to be back with her again

3. how old were you when you became a single parent? Its been one year, five months, two weeks and four days. I miss him so much

4. at what point did you really realize you would have to take all the sole responsibilty of your child/children from now on? When we were in the hospital, Kwangkeok was laying on the bed, tubes all in him. I knew things weren't going to be the same but I didn't know just how different I guess

5. personally, what do you think is the hardest thing about being a single parent? Not having anyone to rely on. If I'm struggling with Minjoo there is no one I can turn to for help with her or to talk to about my day. I know I'm going home to an empty bed, he's not going to be there ever again

6. what is one thing you want to tell people who have single parents or are a single parent themselves? I don't know how you do it, how do you do it? I'm trying to do my best but I feel like I'm loosing it
