I have a new hobby!

I've always kinda like baking and cooking, but I haven't done a lot with it because, well, who would I bake for when I live alone? It's not like I'm going to eat a 10 macarons or a large cake by myself. XD

Last year I made Halloween cupcakes, just for the heck of it. And I gotta admit, it was quite delicious. Nothing extraordinary but I had so much fun decorating them with fondant and icing. Back then I was like "oh, yeah, maybe I'll make cookies for christmas too, but that didn't happen and I didn't really have any tools for fancy decorating anyway.

In June I went home and wanted to cook, so I found a recipe for a lemon-blueberry cake and it was really delicious and it looked fun, because my mom makes a lot of cakes so she has more tools than I used to have, lol.

Then in August we had our summer party at work and I said, sure, I can do the cake so I started playing around with glaze and I am happy to say I was actually quite succesful! I am not very good with the crump-coating, but it was okay and the glaze was so good, haha. I love playing around with glaze, it's a lot of fun.

So when October came around I decided to continue on with the Halloween-cake tradition, lol. So I made some really fun brownies (my coworkers have been asking for the recipe, lol, it was really really delicious) and tried my hands at meringue ghosts (first time making meringue) and oof, it was just so good, haha. The decoration on the cakes weren't super. I tried my hands at fondant again and it was so good, but then the fondant apparently melted before I got to work, lmao. So that was a bit meh. Other than that, it was okay!

And I loved it! I had so much fun baking. And today I made macarons for the first time as well with vanilla buttercream. I'm not super happy with the buttercream, it's a little grainy, but maybe it just needs more whisking next time. The macarons is really good, though! So I've promised my family to make Christmas macarons for them, hahaha. And I honestly cannot wait until Christmas, it's going to be so much fun!

So yeah, I'm baking and having a lot of fun doing it! <3 Hobby's are crazy, it's amazing what can be done. :D
