UNDINA CADRALIA IS ALONG FOR THE JOURNEY } Young Mermaid

Undina | young mermaid

fc

BIRTHNAME : Undina Cadralia
NICKNAMES :

— "Dina" - a short form of her name that the people at the ship call her, since she got annoyed that no one could get right the lilt in the 'Un'

— "Ane-san" - Kazuma or one of the other Jia-Min pirates on the ship started to call her that to reference to her relationship with the Captain and it quickly spread to be used by all the males on the ship, minus the Captain. (ane-san is an antiquated tokyo way to say 'older sister' and that nowadays is used only by yakuza, so I thought that making a paralel with pirates could work)

DATE OF BIRTH : 23rd of Mistcrest (24 years old currently)
BIRTHPLACE : Cadralia
ETHNICITY : Merpeople, but she looks  like an anglian woman above water
NATIONALITY : Merpeople
LANGUAGES SPOKEN :

— Merlic - she's a mermaid.

— Common Tongue - merpeople can actually speak any language of the surface after listening to it for the first time. It's part of their magic.

“WHO SAYS MY DREAMS HAVE TO STAY JUST MY DREAMS?”

FACE CLAIM : Gemma Ward
BACK-UP FACE CLAIM : Poppy Drayton (as The Little Mermaid)
HEIGHT & WEIGHT : 178cm & 68kg

APPEARANCE :

— Above water she's a beautiful anglian woman, with clear skin, blue eyes and golden hair. She also stands taller than most people, at 178cm (5'8"), her long legs a noticeble feature.
But do not let her appearance deceive you, because she's not actually human. Her true form, that is shown underwater, is one of pale skin covered with fish-like scales, gills on her neck and ribcage, long webbed fingers, a long tail instead of legs, complete black eyes and even her hair changes texture. She also has fangs, the only aspect of her true form that she can 'activate' above water.

FASHION STYLE :

— Undina doesn't completely understands the concept of clothes, after all, she never had to wear them, but she stills finds it fascinating. The thing is that she found out it's way more uncomfortable than she was expecting, so most of the time she wears robes at the ship, and only wears more appropriate clothes when the crew interact with someone from outside, or when they need to dock on land.

“YOU WANT SOMETHING DONE,
YOU'VE GOT TO DO IT YOURSELF.”

PERSONALITY :

ESTP, Chaotic Neutral
Sassy, seductive, confident, curious, determined, daring, instinctive
Bold, Practical, Original, Perceptive, Direct, Sociable
Insensitive (blunt honesty), impatient, risk-prone, unstructured, defiant

First of all, Undina is someone that comes of as and is very bold. She's sassy and seductive, she knows she's attractive and she uses it. She's not afraid to go for what she wants or afraid of trying new things. She faces everything head on. Because of that she's someone very action-oriented and with a practical streak. She's here to DO something not to discuss possibilities that will never be put to practice. Because of that she's also great at winging something and improvising. You will be surprised that the rate of success is quite high, despite the risks.

Obviously it's noticible that she's a risk-taker and thus risk-prone. Her unstructured behaviour and path of action and maybe ven of thinking make her unable to plan things beforehand or to actually seriously access the risks before she does something. She looks at the possibility of success, even if small and goes for it, not caring for the contrary opinions because she enjoys being defiant. She won't be boxed in, she won't be controled.

What helps to hold all this unruly action going on is that she's very perceptive and curious. Because she wants to know more about everything she's always looking and paying attentiion to the little details, what allows her to notice the minute changes in a person or situation and it gives her enough time and information to react to it while other people would be caught unprepared. It also helps that her insticts are sharper than that of a human.

She's also a direct person. She says what she wants and she does what she wants and she can quickly lose her patience if someone tries mind games with her or if they don't get right to the point. Does that adds to her insensitive and impatient streak? Yes. She doesn't knows how to navigate in an emotional heavy situation where delicacy and finesse are needed. She is too brutally honest for that, her mind to action oriented to sit down and talk. She's too impatient to be the person to wait for someone to gather their bearings. She would just pull along said person while saying something along the lines of "You can break down AFTER we get out of here".

Despite all of that, she's someone extremely sociable. Because she's confident, perceptive and charismatic she naturaly attracts people around her and can easily inspires trust, specialy in situations of risk, where she can easily take the lead to try to solve the problem. Even her direct approach to things helps. While at first it can shock people, they quickly come to appreciate it because she let's very clear what she likes and deslikes, what are her expectations and what is her mood.

BACKGROUND :

Undina is the youngest of seven sisters and was raised solely by her mother. She never met her father, and strangely her sisters also don't have anything to share. But oh well, the merpeople are heavily matriarchal anyway. [This I actually leave to you because I could't decide if each sister would have a different father, or if something else happened to their father] Despite the fact that everyone expected her to be cold and distant like the waters she had been born in, she took a lot more to the headstrong and decisive traits of the northen people. The Queen had thought she could direct it for the good of their people, and she was partiatly successful. Only if Undina had not been utterly fascinated with the above world (but better an explorer than a conqueror, don't you think?).

Growing up she always had tried to see what was above water. Or course that while she was a child it was easy to stop her, but when her attempt escapedes started to get more and more creative (and dangerous) her mother took her personally to see the above water, but she purposefuly showed her a battle between ships. "Do you see this? They are violent and always seeking blood. Pirates and Navals alike. The people who live on the shore are not better. They would capture you and try to get what they want by force." Strong and shocking words to be said to a seven year old, but the Queen's hopes were that it would shock Undina enough to make her stop trying to go to the surface. And it worked. For a while.

Undina got smarter about showing her interests in the above world and she soon learned that if she spent more time with her sister Laguna she could sneak off more easily. Her sister was highy amused and even shared with her the more secure spots to sight seeing. Undina also learned that as long as under the reasoning of working and supervising her own domain (that thankfully was far enough from the Cadral Sea) she could take some detours to watch the above world. Her mother's warning only made her more smart about how to aproach what she wanted, instead of completely discouraging it.

Till one day in her curiosity about the above world, she swam around the east coast of the Badlands, borderings the territory of her older sister Laguna, and somewhere on the coast of the border between the Westland and the Eastlands she found a curious amulet. While she was studying it and turning it around in her hands, the magic of it activated and she felt like tons of tiny crabs were walking over and pinching her tail. When the sensation stopped, she realised she had legs and that a strange woman was at the beach looking at her.

Said woman stepped into the shallow waters and smiled "Let me help you Daughter of the Sea" and somehow Undina could feel that she could trust in that woman. So she accepted the extend hand and the woman supported her since her new legs were still wobbly, till they reached a small wodden house. There the woman introduced herself as Calypso and she answered all the questions Undina could think of about the Above world, while also teaching her what she would need to know if she wanted to walk between the humans. From there she dwelled on inns for bit, trading her singing voice that attracted customers for a place to sleep and food, till she heard the word "Nightingale" and followed up all the leads till she was face to face with the Captain.

TRIVIA :

— Merpeople don't have surnames in the same way humans do, most of the time it's a title they choose for themselves and that their descendants can choose to take it or not. In the case of the royal family, Cadralia is the name the first Queen adopted, and all her descendants took It too. The capitol was named after the Royal family, and even the Cadral sea has it's name because of them. Curious fact, the humans don't remember/know exactly why the Cadral sea is called Cadral, but It stayed, since the ancient times when Merpeople interacted more with the humans.

— As the Princess Protector of the Wintanberg Tides, Undina can control the waters and track anyone and anything that sails there, if she so does wishes. This means that she can have the strongest armada of the known world in the palm of her hands, since the Tides are the home waters of Wintanberg. (of course that this demands energy from her, but it's completely possible). That's because she's a daughter-descendant of the Mother-of-All.

— Undina is always accompanied by her pet, a baby kraken that took the form of a monkey with the magic of the amulet that gave legs to it's master.

— The depts of the Cyhllo Abyss works as a high security prision for the merpeople, housing not only criminals but also bigger and scarier threaths, sealed in the deep black waters by past rulers of Cadralia. The high waters are patroled by a special royal squad, but the Queen and and her two oldest daughters are always in alert to come help if something happens since they are the ones with the closest domains.

— Merpeople live around nine decades, but stop ageing after the third one. Sometimes they can live more, but the average is 90 years.

— She's stronger and faster than a human because her body is used to moving in the water, where the resistance is bigger. So abovewater, where the air resistance is smaller than the water's, she can so stuff that normal humans can't. (Kinda like how/why Superman is strong on Earth. But she's not Superman levels of strong, of course)

— She usually fights bare-handed, summoning only her teeth and claws and using of her superior strenght but she's also deadly with a spear.

— She had never tried anything besides seafood, so she's always curious to eat new types of food.

“YES, I'VE HAD THE ODD COMPLAINT,
BUT ON THE WHOLE, I'VE BEEN A SAINT.”

CONNECTIONS :

Mother - Thalassa (60) / Queen and Protector of the Cadral Sea / Dignified, Stern, Protective / 3 out 5
Queen Thalassa's name imposes order just by the mere mention of it. No one that looks or is in the presence of the Queen can deny the regal and powerful aura that she has. Despite being the protector of the Cadral Sea, she can actually command any of the other masses of water too. She's particular harsh and cruel with traitors and anyone that puts her family and realm in danger. She was once carefree, when she was young, but the heartbreak she suffered at the hands of a pirate captain froze her heart. From then on, no one from the surface should be trusted, her people should avoid contact with them. All of her love is focused on her daughters and her people, and exactly because of that she's so adamant on keeping underwater and surface apart. [fc: Toni Busker]

Older sister - Oceania (30) / Princess Protector of the Sipas Depths / Wise & Placid / 5 out 5
Oceania is the oldest of the Queen's daughter, and as such, she will be the next Queen when needed, unless her sisters challenge her for the throne. What is not likely to happen since all of them respect Oceania. She was the more motherly and nurturing figure in Undina's life, and the one the young mermaid always run to when she has a problem. Oceania's calm demeanor and wise words always manage to help Undina. She's also more pacient than their mother, so she usually tries to explain things to Undina instead of just saying she can't do something because that's an order. [fc: Sanya Hughes]

Older sister - Nerida (29) / Princess Protector of the Icecap Gulf / cheeky & fun seeking / 3 out 5
Nerida is always seeking something fun to do, despite her responsabilities as the second oldest. Sometimes this plays on Undina's favor, but other times Nerida purposefuly tattles on her just because she think it would spice things up a bit. Usually to keep her older sister quiet about what she has been doing, Undina has to bribe her with something the older would find more entertaining than seeing the youngest doing chores because she's grounded, again. So usually Undina has to share her stories of what she saw or eventually bring some trinket that she caught in the waters after a shipwreck. Nerida is not mean on purpose, and Undina knows that, so she doesn't hold that against her older sister, too much. [fc: Daphne Joy]

Older sister - Marina (28) / Princess Protector of the Kerau Sea / ambitious & vindictive / 3 out 5
As the protector of one of the biggest seas, Marina had already seen a lot, including wars happening on the surface of the water. She's also the princess that most enforces her mother's rules of no interaction with the Landwalkers because she learned things on the hard way. She was once romantically involved with a pirate but had her heart broken after a secret date that almost took her life when sea hunters came by surprise and tried to capture her. Of course that she didn't gave her lover time to explain, she fled as soon as possible, but who else could have tipped the hunters if not him, a man warning other men? Since then she holds a grudge against humans and always get angry when Undina brings up the Above Water world, even more when she finds out about her younger sister's escapades. [fc: Jorgelina Guadalupe Airaldi]

Older sister - Aquaria (27) / Princess Protector of the Frostcap Bay / serious & unpretentious / 4 out 5
Aquaria is the one who doesn't meddles on other's affairs. She takes her responsabilities as the protector of the Frostcap Bay seriously and she's very true to her own self. She stands with a sister when the other is being unfairly judged, but when one of them breaks a rule or gets in trouble, Aquaria is the first to call them out on their error, before it's too late. She's the one that the other's go to when they need an unparcial opinion on something, since Aquaria has a great ability to analyze all the points and views of a situation equally. [fc: Brea Berrett]

Older sister - Laguna (26) / Princess Protector of the Deep Domain / witty & resourceful / 5 out 5
Laguna is the most "street smart" of the sisters, and that may or may not has to do with the fact that her domain includes the pirate's home, Piranha Isles. Despite her mother's orders, she has her own fair quota of observing the pirates that sail on her waters. She even helps to cover for Undina sometimes. She was also the last sister that saw Undina before she found the amulet and if there is any of the sisters that has some idea of what Undina is doing, it's Laguna. [fc: Antoinette Kalaj]

Older sister - Syrena (25) / Princess Protector of the Pearl Tides / Honest&Gentle / 5 out 5
Syrena is the closest in age to Undina, and also one of the closest to her from all of the sisters. Syrena is a bit of a goody-two-shows, so despite the fact that Undina often says to her that she needs to live a little and be less boring, Syrena is the voice of reason for Undina. They can understand each other with just a glance and they even crafted a sea current between their domains so the travel and communication between the two could be faster and more efficient. [fc: Astrid Berges-Frisbey]

Aquaintance - Calypso (age unknown) / Witch / whimsical & friendly / maybe 4 out 5?
Calypso was the witch who found Undina newly-turned human on the shores, who helped her on her new feet and took her to her home to make sure the young mermaid was actually okay. As a follower of the Mother-of-All she was qualified to examine the magic on the shell necklace and determine if it was harmfull to Undina or not. After deeming it safe, Calypso still welcomed Undina into her sea shore home for a week, teaching her the basics of the landdwellers world. She also predicted the best time and direction for Undina to follow first in her new travel and bestowed upon her words of wisdon and advice "The magic of the shell is ancient and powerful and you should keep it on you at all times. It's a precious gift that you should not scorn. And remember, the Ocean Mother can always be reached, as long as the waters once connect with the sea." despite their short time together, they got along pretty well and Undina suspects that Calypso is more than she shows. [fc: Joss Stone]

— The girls : She likes to annoy the Woman of science and the Governor's daughter because they are uptight in two different ways. She probably would get along well with the Captain's daughter, Cabin boy and Voodoo Witch. She likes to say that she and the Cursed Slave are cursed/medalion buddies. She always indulges the asks for stories from the Engaged Princess, Lost Princess and Loyal Handmaiden.

— The guys : She usually helps the sailmaster with navigation, the Surgeon because she's not squimish with blood, the Carpenter because she's strong and she gives suggestions how to improve the ship so it would sail better based on the sea creatures she's familiar with. She sometimes loits around the Missionary because she's curious about what he's cooking. And she likes to lightly annoy the Crewman, First Mate, Quartermaster and Boatswain.

LOVE INTEREST : Terada Takuya
BACK UP LOVE INTEREST : Xiao Zhan (as Wei Wuxian) or Avan Jogia

PLOTLINE : The Captain [The Carpenter with Avan as fc]

PERSONALITY:

ENTP, Chaotic Good
Dramatic, Flamboyant, Insensitive, Intolerant, Unfocused
Resourceful, Cunning, Charismatic, Original, Energetic
A tremedously huge flirt

— Takuya has a bigger than life character. He's seen and heard whenever he goes, his actions, stance and words magnetic and inspiring to the people around him. He's as much os a natural born leader as he is a leadern born in adversity, his quick-witted mind and original ideas allowing him to come with plans in the heat of the moment.
— He also has a penchant for the dramatics and he LIKES being the center of attention. Despite being easily bored he's slow to forget what really matters to him and he's patient to get his revenge when needed. And although generaly being chill and fun-loving he knows how to impose fear and he doesn't tolerate having his direct orders being disobeyed or contested. He's easily defined by wind, that goes whenever it wants and can go from a gentle breeze to a roaring storm in a small span of time.
— Takuya is en extrovert and a people's person. Flirting is second nature to him and he's charming enough to basicaly have anyone he wants. Despite that, his trust is really hard to win. After the incident that got his father killed he got a lot more cautious although he still puts up a freindly smile most of the time. Once broken, the trust he put on you can't be regained back no matter what, but if you won and keep it, you will have someone that will defend you fiercely for the rest of your life. Being described as a force of nature is a really apt way to define Takuya.

BACKGROUND:

— Takuya had never met his mother and had been solely raised by his father and his crew. His father had also been a pirate captain of the Brotherhood, although not an Ambassador. His mother is a noble lady in Jiayuan from a powerful Jia-Dan family. His father never told him who she was, but she knows who her son is because Ryuji kept her updated as long as he was alive. After that, she got her information about Takuya because she is a high ranked member of the Sicarius. [You can change this last bit if you want]

— For the first years of Takuya's life his father took more jobs as a messager or was stationed in the Piranha Isles. Takuya grew up among the docks and taverns of Piranha Isles and thus he learned many tricks from an early age. He also always thought that his father was the coolest pirate ever becuse his bedtime stories were the adventures his father had when he was younger. The fact that he was communaly raised by his father's crew also allowed to someone always be watching him so no other pirates could pick on him to try to take advantage of his father.

— It was on one of the missions to bring supplies to the Piranha Isles that Takuya got an younger brother. A scrawnie street rat tried to steal Ryuji's golden compass, but the pirate captain had seen it from afar what the kid was trying to do, as well as the whole crew who was loading their ship. When Takuya saw it too, he tried to stop the kid before he got close to his father, but his father's second in command stopped him and said to just watch. The kid was nimble on his feet and had a good balance, he would have been successful if he was not targeting pirates who always had eyes on the back of their heads. When his father called him closer, after catching the wanabe thief, and told him to teach the younger boy how to steal properly, he knew his father had decided to adopt the kid as one of his crew and Takuya smiled. It would be good to have a playmate.

— So Takuya and Kazuma grew up creating trouble and being lively together (or more like Takuya pulling Kazuma along and the younger one just going with it) and they grew to be close like real brothers. Takuya teached Kazuma everything he could and helped him learn anything else he couldn't teach. But there also a phase on his teenager years where hormones hit and he felt kind of ressentful that his father was giving more attention to Kazuma than to him, and HE was his father's real son. This ended in discussions and hurtful words being said, but after many tears and a heartfelt conversation Ryuji managed to make the two boys reconciliate, and from then on their bond became even stronger. Later on that's one of the things they would be known for: their loyalty to one another and the way they complimented each other, with Takuya being the flamboyant hurricane and Kazuma being the calm rock that anchored him down.

— Everything was going great until the last time Ryuji recruited new people to his crew. Takuya thought they looked a bit suspicious but his father just laughed when his son told him that. "They are pirates, they ought to look suspicious." But Takuya watched from the sidelines quietly (actually, he asked Kazuma to do it most of the time, he knew his brother was better at being discreet) and he saw how they subtly instilled disquiet, with a particular man always giving the solutions and ingratiating himself to the rest of the crew. This particular man was also very competent and quickly rose in the hyerachy of the ship, reaching a position equivalent to the captain's assistant. Takuya's fear came to be real when an intricate plot was put into motion. This group of people somewhat managed to discreetely steer the ship towards a bad route and they faced bad weather and loss to the point that insatiafaction grew loud. A mutiny exploded, his father was killed under the acusation that his bad choices as a captain put the crew in danger and Takuya had to rein himself in and bow his head to keep his brother and the very few men still loyal to him alive. They spent weeks imprisioned under the lower decks, the of mercy being that the new captain wanted to sell them as slaves instead of just killing them. The chance to retaliate was when the ship was attacked. The Spenian Navy caught with the ship in one of their pirate purges and Takuya and the others new right away something was wrong when they heard cannons fire. a cannon ball hit the lower decks and they would have died drowned if a crewmember hadn't come to release them. He was little more than a boy and he quickly asked for Takuya's forgiveness, saying that he was one of the crewmembers that hadn't a choice during the mutiny. Takuya knew right away that he could turn the wind in his favour. He gathered his brother and his men and bursted out of the lower decks right into the fray calling for the pirates to follow him.  Demonstrating great leadership and fighting ability he not only turned the battle on their favour but also managed to personaly kill the mutiny captain. He sacrificed his father's ship as a ticking bomb to slow down the Navy with an explosion while running away on a small stolen navy ship. After that, most of the dissidents had perished on the battle and the remaining crew was quicky to follow Takuya again after his show of ferocity. And that was how Captain Terada Takuya was born.

— After becomming captain, Takuya needed to reach safe ports to repair the ship and one of the few man that had stayed loyal to his father told him of a friend that could do carpentry. Takuya recognized the man as the one that had immediatelly covered his back in the middle of the fight after he got separated from Kazuma so he knew instinctively that he could trust him. (that man would quickly become his quartermaster and if you want it could be also when they met and recruited the carpenter). From there the Nightingale was born, a modified Spenian ship with top artillery. He also got the blessing from a Sea Witch that had been his father's friend since he could remember, and that he called "Aunty Cally", as soon as the ship was ready to sail again.

— And then a few years later he won his place as an Ambassador by accident. The crew was back at their favorite tavern in Piranha Isles celebrating a hugely successful raid (against the Spenians no less. Takuya always had a petty satisfaction of attacking spenian ships with the Nightingale) and everyone was drunk or almost there. His quatermaster was very drunk but having much fun winning all the arm wrestling matches and some of the lightweight ones were already sleeping sprawled over the tables. He nodded at Kazuma, making a gesture to indicate the door and when his brother nodded back he went for a walk for a bit of fresh air, knowing that his brother would keep an eye on everyone while he was away. While walking, he stumbled upon an old man in a dingy alley, almost breaking the bottle the man was holding. While he was in the middle of helping the man to steady himself he saw a glint of metal coming from the darkness and the parried the dagger in time. From there he was attacked by more masked strangers, his own bottle got broken, he got pissed and joined the fray with even more vigour, inadvertently helping the old man that was also getting attacked. He decides for an strategic retreat when the number of strangers didn't seem to dwindle. He run to his ship, pulling the old man in town, knowing that they will be safe there and if needed he and the few men aboard them the Nightingale could take care of the old man. Things are not that simple, they are chased. Takuya has to use all of his street tricks to get them lost of his trail. Finally they are successful and the old man starts to laugh and thanks him once they reach the ship. "Old man, you are way too much trouble. Why you have people after your head?" he asks the other and only get more laughs in return. The old man then take deep breaths and offers Takuya a plain and old Jia-min smoking pipe. "For saving my life without even wanting anything in return, I will make you my Ambassador." the old man saysand offers him the pipe. It takes some good seconds until the information allign the right way in Takuya's brain and he realises the had just saved the freaking King of Pirates from an assasination attempt. He accepts the pipe and from that day onwards he reffers to the King exclusively as 'Old Man' to the lowkey amusement of the King and for the despaired annoyance of the other Ambassadors.

LOVE STORY:

— Takuya first met Undina on one night when he was returning to his cabin in the Nightingale. He had waited in the kitchens after dinner so the heavy rain would pass and when he entered his room he noticed one of the windowns wes open and that there was a big puddle of water on the floor. He cursed and closed it, and while looking around searching for something to dry his floor he noticed that the trail of water seemed to go till his privacy screen. He put his hand on his sword and quietly walked towards the screen, just to be surprised by a extremely beautiful valgian woman walking from behind it. She smiled at him and pulled all of her hair over one shoulder, gently twisting it to take off the excess of water. It was then that Takuya realised she was drenched and wearing nothing more than one of his silk robes loosely tyed and a shell necklace around her neck that ended partialy hidden in her bosom. He was equaly intrigued and suspicious.

"So are you Captain Terada Takuya? You are a really hard man to reach, did you know?" Her voice was musical and she walked with the elegance of a predator, sitting on the closest surface (his bed) and crossing her long legs, what made the robe cascade around it, leaving her legs completely exposed.

"It seems that you already know who I am my lady, but I still haven't had the honour to know who you are." He ansewred with a flamboyant bow and a smile without taking his eyes from her.

"My name is Undina" Takuya could swear that her lilt was unlike any accent he had heard before "And dear Calypso showed me the way."

At the mention of the name of the woman he had always called as aunty, Takuya slightly relaxed and proceeded to ask questions, trying to understand how this woman had entered into his room.

"Through the window, of course. I couldn't risk being seen by others before speaking with you."

Takuya was dumbfounded for a minute. All of his windows looked at the sea and there was a ranging storm going on not long ago. She couldn't have come into a small boat. An idea made a cold shiver ring through his spine.

"The sea and all it's glory protect her domain."

"Rejoice in the Ocean Mother's favour." Was the answer he got from her, and also a smile that flashed with teeth too pointy to be human. He cursed internally realizing he probably had a legendary being in his ship.

From there he proceeds to host Undina in the ship while trying to convince the rest of his high comand chain that keeping her around was the better idea because they couldn't afford to angry her. Weirdly enough, Undina charmed Takuya quite quickly, to the suspicion of his brother and friends. The thing that everyone realised in the first fight she was around is that as Takuya was smitten with her, so she seemed to be with him. Undina and Takuya realised quite early that they were kindred spirits and from there things scalated very quickly because Undina had no shame and Takuya wouldn't say no to a beautiful woman (so yes, they got physical quite quickly but it doesn't need to be explicit AT ALL). Undina then proceeds to seamesly join the crew, helping around with anything that she could (helping navigation, surviving storms and giving info about Wintamberg's Navy since their home waters are her domain) and being a ferocious fighter very protective of them, specially of Takuya. In return, Takuya promised Undina that if they ever come across other mermaids they would not hurt them.

Undina is possessive of Takuya once they do the deed and she doesn't like other women flirting with him (it's a mermaid-protect yout mate-thing and she always smiles dangerously at the women). On his side, Takuya thinks that's incredibly hot of her. They are very insuferable together because they are always touching or kissing, Undina is almost always drapped over Takuya in some form. Takuya absolutely loves all the attention.

In terms of working together Takuya is usually the one that comes with a plan and Undina is the secret weapon (hes' the brain she's the brawn). Both of them think that they won the lottery with their partner and are incredibly smug about each other's achievements.

Although there IS some drama when it's revealed that Undina is one of the mermaids princesses and that Takuya has noble blood of his own. But to the suffering of the rest of the crew they overcome it with a great dose of "i don't care what she/he is" and soon they are back at being the most insufferable couple ever that the crew would not trade for anything.

ENDING:

— They are together, even if eventually they need to be physycaly appart from each other.

INTERVIEW

WHAT DO YOU THINK OF PIRATES? I’M SURE YOU’VE HEARD A TALE OR TWO :

— I have, indeed. Honorless bastards. Cold blooded killers. I'm curious to see how much of it is true and how much it's not. Specialy because you humans tend to get things very wrong if you don't know much about them. -she grins-

WHAT IS YOUR PURPOSE FOR MEETING OUR CAPTAIN? HE IS A BUSY MAN :

— Hum...A busy man. How interesting. But I'm sure he can spare some moments to me. -and she smiles seductively, totally using her charms to get what she wants-

IT’S A KNOWN SUPERSTITION THAT WOMEN ARE BAD LUCK ON SHIPS, SO WHAT MAKES YOU WORTHY TO TAG ALONG? :

— Oh? Then I guess it's a good thing I'm not a woman. -she tilts her head to the side, grinning while her teeth flash momentarily pointy and stressing the last word to make her point clear. That she was not human, thus the rules don't apply to her-

WHAT LENGTHS ARE YOU WILLING TO GO ON THIS JOURNEY? :

— Lenghts? I think the word 'depths' is better, don't you think? The real danger lurks underwater, not above it. -she gives her charming grin again- But I suppose I will stay while it's fun.

COMMENTS : I know that there is some candidates for the Captain already, but I couldn't resist to try my hand at his plot, specially because in my head a Pirate Captain in love with a Mermaid is really fitting.

Also, I know I spouted a lot of stuff about Merpeople, but feel absolutely free to ignore everything if none makes sense to what you had previously planned for the world, okay?

Aunty Cally and Calypso are the same person, if by any chance it didn't got clear :D

SCENES REQUESTS :

— I think it would be cool if the pirate that broke Queen Thalassa's heart when she was young would be no one else than the Pirate King. 8D
— Maybe Takuya could meet his mom?

PASSWORD : Pirates will be Pirates
