haneul doesn't has a big family. it's him, his mom, his father and his younger brother. but he knows that it wasn't always like this, because he actually remembers when his dad entered his and his mom's life. until his  sixth year of life he was raised by his single mom,that worked as a nurse in the local hospital. after that, his police officer dad entered the scene, and later they got married. so he knows that his father is actually his step-father, but it doesn't change the fact that he was the man that raised him and accepted him as a son even if they didn't share blood. when haneul was nine he got an younger brother,and his family got them complete.

al of them get along well and there isn't a difference in treatmente between haneul and his brother hajun, despite hajun being the blood child of both their parents. haneul grew up with this idolised image of his father, and he always said as a child that he wanted to fight bad guys like his father when he grew up. put that and his love for martial arts movies together, and you have a sure recipe as why he wanted to join the might. the fact that he grew up actually learning martial arts only helped.

he went to the capital to join the might without telling his parents that it was what he was actually doing. he told them he got a job offer to teach in a martial arts school, and he planned to tell them the truth only if things didn't work. he was already planning what he would  need to do to not break the contract. his family still thinks he's a taekwondo instructor because things did work for him and he did get powers.

he actually went through the program with flying colors, being able to showcase and stabilise his powers in the first weeks, and by the end of the first month he already had a solid fighting style. needless to say that he was a favorite that was put under 777's wing and turned into a hero before the usual time. he's deemed as 777's successor by many in the program.

Personality expanded — the first thing you notice about haneul is that he's a friendly guy that is always up to help. that's his basics and his core. he engages easily with people and makes friends quickly, people usualy like him and he will always help, be it to cary something to the other side of the building, be it in a life threatening battle. he always has a great sense of justice, so he hates bullies and he will defend anyone he thinks is being opressed.

he's also very worthy and this means people know they can count on him and that he will never lie, but it also means he's predictable and people could try to take advantage of him. he's also a people pleaser, always wanting to make everyone happy. and while that can make him a good deescalator and helps him to mantain peace, it also means that, sometimes, if neither of the sides is actually wrong, he wouldn't want to take sides, to not upset any of them.

his bad side tho, is that he's scrupulous, getting attached to the details of things, specialy rules. he also is strict, not in a he's serious way, but as in he expects a lot of himself and of everyone else too. if rules are clearly stated, he will expect them to be followed by the letter and he won't bend. he sees things too black on white, with no nuances, and unfortunately for him, the world is more complicated than that.

— he's tall, muscular and good looking, with Sharp, cat-like features and a naturally more tanned skin. He also hAS long-ish and slightly wavy Black hair. (Basically mingyu) He might not be as muscular as 777, but his height compensates and he's still a striking and intimidating figure.

— his style is actually very casual, with lots of jeans, tshirts, cargo pants,jeans jackets and leather jackets. on cold weather he would wear a snugly sweater and an overcoat. he knows he doesn't need a lot to look good.

— he wears a navy blue and gold hanbok-inspired ensemble with a navy blue mask that covers his neck and lower face (nose and mouth). he also has a expanding metal staff that helps him focusing his attacks and creates a point from where the attacks can expand.

— i was thinking How i can put drama in his story, and i came with the idea that his biological father is jihye's father, and he had cheated on her mother with haneul's mother. So he would be the unknown half brother of Voltage/Syntax. Cool thing is that The only person that can connect the dots is jihye, If she hacks enough aechives to stumble upon the information. Or Maybe the might hás everything in the archives and she finds It. But anyways, potential for a Very Luke Skywalker/Darth Vader reveal situation, If you want and If you think It would be interesting. Or his biological father could be no one of notice and his dramatic crisis is if/when he finds out about the thruth about the might and the blood they have on their hands, maybe?
