How do I get back into kpop after falling out?

I really really want to get back into kpop like I used to but I don't know how? or I don't know where to start. I used to stan exo hard and I still kind of do but i'm just struggling to keep up with what's going on. It used to be so easy but now it seems so hard and more of a struggle. I've tried joining communities like discord and twitter but I feel like it's been so long a majority of the time I feel so left out about all the inside jokes and such. Any tips? ;~;

Honestly, I can't find myself to get into newer kpop groups as well. I'm stuck watching variety shows with idols that I grew up with and going back to those old shows. Maybe instead of trying to get into anything new, try what I've been doing this quarantine and digging back into your memories for classic kpop?

I feel you. as someone who couldn't move on from 2nd gen idols, i felt the same as you. Like last time i tend to watch the whole episode of music bank and went like naming one by one of the idols, but ever since i got busy with uni and stuff, i kind of stopped following k-updates and i feel somehow left out? Well, since it's quarantine time here, i got bunch of time but thennnn again, i have to wait for my oppadeul (sorry but i have to HAHA) to come back from military for a complete comeback as a whole. Soooooo, i tried to watch music bank again. And when i think that some of the groups song are nice, i searched for them, of course i wouldnt be searching for their name or like go crazy about them, i just went like "ohh this group got a nice song" and post some positive comments. I mean at least we, the old gen of kpop fans should somehow try to post more positive comments about nowadays kpop since we know how much idols at our gen suffers a lot from negative comments, so yeah. Step by step, i know some of the new kpop songs, the rookies, the aegyo trend. Beside only kpop, i watch some variety show like The Great Escape, Coffee Friends and yeahhh more. I watch kdramas too but when i feel like it's too much for kdramas, then i go for webdramas since one ep of webdrama is only 15-20mins long. Then after that i rewatch kpop idols videos like compilations, i even watched the dont laugh kpop challenge and yeah, it's fun! Well basically that just how i deal with my "almost" breaking up with KPOP (except for SHINee cause like I'll never break up with SHINee). So yeah hope it helps!

i tend to just listen to the music, but also - watching funny videos on youtube is nice too. i don't think it's worth it to keep up with everything that's happening in the kpop world, it's simply impossible if you want a life outside of it as well. so pick and choose a few groups you like (maybe get back into exo), have one or two places to keep up with news (and with news i really mean, when are they releasing new music) on those (i use tumblr but you can use twitter or whatever) and otherwise just ... listen to songs here and there that you enjoy.
that's how i do kpop these days, anyway. i can't (and won't) keep up with the entirety of the community, that's impossible for me. but i'll listen to new songs and enjoy videos and just keep up with the very few groups im an actual fan of (thus far, only shinee and exo soo...)

so maybe, it's not about "getting into it the way it used to be", it's "getting into it the way it fits your life right now". ^_^

what i usually do is watch funny videos on youtube alksdfjs and listen to kpop songs/watch mvs!!! Recently I got really into ATEEZ (the last time I started stanning a group really was back in 2016 when I discovered monsta x and before that when I first got into kpop in 2013 and discovered exo) and just watch a bunch of their videos and also crack vids and meme videos hahah
