Question for the ages

So as I working on my fanfic I keep having this debate with myself. How long is too long for a chapter? At what point in time do readers get overwhelmed specifically with the amount of text they see on the screen vs a physical book? 5 pages, 7, 15? I'm not sure myself as long as the text is fascinating and engaging I'm ok with reading it. I've always been a firm believer every chapter should end once one essential question to the previous chapter has been answered. Idk, what do you guys think? What do you as a reader prefer?

There's no right or wrong answer to this but personally as a reader, I don't really care about how long it is, as long as the story is good it's fine with me. I wouldn't stop reading a fic just because of how long or how short a chapter is. If I like the story enough, I'd read through everything without complaint. As a writer, my style is ending on a cliffhanger so I pinpoint where the part would be and write towards it. My chapters end up being about 10k words long nowadays but no one has commented on that being a bad thing so my readers are fine with it I guess. And I like the idea that every chapter should end once one essential question to the previous chapter has been answered, assuming you set up another essential question for the next chapter. Idk if I answered the questions you have but this is just my thoughts heh
