korean. 70%. she spoke this language mostly at home with her parents and grandparents, but after her grandparents died she and her parents spoke less korean. she's neglected it for a long while, but is actively trying to get back in touch with the language.

sleeping in, running errands, doing random stuff, trying to get her life together before graduation etc.
when she's not out partying she's usually taking saturdays to take care of herself. sometimes that's a massage session, facial or getting her nails done. normally she's always with one of her sorority sisters, or even raina, but she does enjoy her alone time as well. a calm night in, watching a movie, sipping on wine is typically what her saturdays look like when she's not getting lit for whatever reason.

how alicia deals with roxanna and sara, roxanna has no clue. however, roxanna is very thankful for alicia's friendship because without alicia roxanna doesn't know how she would have gotten through her junior year. constant reassurance, support and patience, roxanna owes it to alicia for giving her the motivation to move on and continue living her best life. alicia brings a much needed calm and order to the trio's friendship. though at times, she is flaky and that's something roxanna and sara have just grown to accept.

they met in passing when vivian was checking out potential sororities to rush her freshman year. ΑΦΓ at the time was lacking members (still is tbh) and it just wasn't for vivian. flash forward to a party that weekend, roxanna and vivian hit it off and proceeded to spend the rest of the night attached at one another's hip, hyping each other up while grinding on each other. their relationship from that point forward blossomed through parties, where they were again each other's hype women and at times the life of the party. they exchanged numbers at one point and their friendship outside of parties slowly blossomed. when sober, vivian is a little too intense and high energy for roxanna, but roxanna admits that there is never a dull moment when she's with vivian. roxanna attended her first rave with vivian (after much begging and persuasion from vivian) and boy was that an experience that roxanna would prefer to not have again because a high vivian is more crazy than a drunk and sober vivian.

roxanna was a few drinks in and she needed to use the bathroom. all the bathrooms downstairs were occupied so she wandered her nearly drunk up the stairs only to find nearly all the bathrooms occupied too. nearly because the last bathroom she checked the door was unlocked, but the bathroom was not empty. the bathroom was occupied by none other than owen. he was sitting in the bathtub, crying and he tried to cover it up by quickly rubbing his face and covering his with his hands as soon as the door opened. he didn't get up though and only glanced at roxanna, who only stared back at him. they stood staring at each other for a minute before roxanna felt the urge to pee. "uh- if you're not gonna leave that's fine, but i really really need to pee..." she said before she entered the bathroom, closed the door behind her and ran towards the toilet. "uh y-yeah do w-whatever.." he said softly, pulling the shower curtain closed. it was the moment she sat down that she truly felt the alcohol hit her and a nearly drunk roxanna, was finally a drunk roxanna. she started crying as she was peeing, attractive i know. hearing her cry, owen peeked out from behind the shower curtain. he watched her for who knows how long before he spoke, "hey, you okay?" roxanna only sobbed harder at his question. part of owen wanted to quickly get up and leave, but at the same time he didn't want to just leave the poor girl there alone. owen cleared his throat, "i-if you want, you can sit in the tub with me." roxanna let out another cry before she wiped herself and then climbed into the opposite side of the tub, facing him. the two sat awkwardly before owen asked again, "you okay?" roxanna shook her head and slowly explained to him that her high school sweetheart boyfriend had cheated on her, all the while tears were still streaming down her and she was gasping for air after every sentence. her situation hit a cord with him, his girlfriend hadn't cheated, but they did break up a few months ago and he still wasn't completely over her. "hey, hey, it'll be okay..." he said before he moved towards her, he scooted beside her and wrapped an arm around her, bringing him into his chest as tears ran down his own face because he remembered his ex girlfriend, the girlfriend who he was crying about just moments earlier. the two cried in each other's embrace and eventually fell asleep together, cuddle up in the bathtub.
the following morning roxanna woke up first. she was shocked to find herself in his embrace. she didn't want to move, but she knew she was going to get in big trouble with her older sister (who she was living with at the time) if she didn't get her home asap. so, she left. she also "disappeared" for the following school semester. owen wasn't surprised to wake up without roxanna, but at the same time a part of him deep down hoped that she'd still be there. he never got her name, but he still asked around to see if anyone knew who he was describing and no one really knew. asking around for an asian girl was like looking for a needle in a haystack.
second meeting. roxanna and owen met again in the middle of last fall semester. sara had bribed roxanna to come to her group meeting for one of her many math classes. "who the assigns a group project for a math class?" was all sara repeated to roxanna as they walked into the library. roxanna didn't have anything better to do and while sara was discussing things with her group mates she figured she could get her own studying and homework done.
"oh, i forgot to tell you, but one of my group mates is a gamma. his name's owen and he's joey's little. oh look, there he is?" sara whispered to roxanna before putting on a smile to greet her two other group mates. roxanna's eyes were locked onto his. it's too much to say her blood turned cold, but her heart did seem to stop beating entirely. it was the boy from the bathtub. he still looked the same, a little slimmer, his jawline more chiseled and his hair longer, but it was most definitely him. owen on the other hand had a difficult time pinpointing where he had seen roxanna before, but he recognized her from somewhere. his attention was grabbed by his group mates and roxanna took a far seat away from them. it wasn't until that night that he finally remembered who roxanna was, "the bathtub girl." he was feeling slightly bitter at roxanna, but it has been so long ago, why did it even matter anymore?
according to sara, at the next class meeting she had with owen, he had asked about her. "it's not everyday that a gamma boy asks me about my friends," she emphasized as she told roxanna what he had asked. "the girl from our meeting, is she your friend?" "oh, she's your sorority sister?" "what's her name?" "hm, when did she cross?" of course both roxanna and sara were giddying about it, but at the same time it could have just been pure curiosity. alpha phi gamma was a smaller sorority and lesser known, so that itself was an interest point. roxanna rubbed it off and left it as what it was. she'd still tag along with sara sometimes to the group meetings and the two would exchange friendly smiles. the first gamma phi alpha house party that roxanna attened, owen introduced himself before roxanna had the chance to. from the inital party, they exchanged a few words everytime they meet and and eventually exchanged numbers.
they talk every other day (sometimes every day depending on their schedules) about this and that. sometimes it gets deep, but other times they're venting to one another about annoyances they've encountered. on rare occasions roxanna would go over to owen's place to smoke weed. the incident in the bathroom two year ago was pushed to the back of both of their minds. it didn't seem to matter to either of them anymore. of course that's a lie, roxanna still wonders if it's owen and if it is she wants to thank him for not just up and leaving. owen on the other hand still finds himself slightly irked whenever he thinks back to the event. he's been left multiple times before by girls and at this point it's expected, but why did roxanna's leaving bother him so much? perhaps the two have deeper feelings for each other than they'd like to admit.
why formal? come spring semester the two are fairly good friends. word gets around that owen doesn't have a date and after much convincing from sara (the whistleblower who told roxanna that he doesn't have a date because sara has another class this semester with owen) and alicia secretly, roxanna decides to shoot her shot.
"hey sara, can you give this to owen tomorrow? and don't you dare open it or i'll ing kill you." roxanna asks sara while handing her a small white envelope. sara, being the great friend she is, passes the envelope onto owen. "hey bro, roxanna asked me to give this to you. wouldn't open it until you're alone."
follow sara's suggestions owen doesn't open it until he gets home. in the envelope he finds an index card. the first side he sees is a drawing of him. on the other side he finds a little note that reads, "you were there for me in the bathtub two years ago, so let me be there for you at spring formal?"
the following conversation then took place over text:
roxanna: "oh my god. are you not- i'm so sorry! please burn that. i'm so sorry!"
owen: "lmao i'm kidding, it was me. i'm surprised you remembered that night. "
owen: "also why would i burn this ing amazing drawing of me?"
roxanna: " you owen. my heart dropped : ( "
roxanna: "also sorry for not saying anything earlier. it felt weird to bring it up out of no where, plus i didn't even know if you remembered me because that night was... wild lol"
owen: "you're all good"
owen: "if i bring you to formal you can't just dip like that again, okay?"
roxanna: "are you asking me to formal?"
owen: "answer the question first, roxanne"
roxanna: "it's roxanna, not roxanne, but okay... i won't just up and leave like i did two years ago"
owen: "are you free the weekend of formal?"
roxanna: "yeah i am"
owen: "you're no longer free. you're going to formal with me"
✘ at parties when they're a drink or two in, they tend to get touchy-feely with one another before owen goes off on his own and passes out
✘ owen can still not believe that she teaches art to elementary students
✘ owen has tried to teach roxanna how to play his video games, but it just ends in roxanna getting embarrassed at how bad she is and owen teasing the out of her which causes her to get irritated and they end up bickering
✘ roxanna has bought owen's favorite video game and has routinely played it to try and get better at it (so she can beat him), but video games are harder than they look and seem
✘ owen enjoys jokingly singing roxanne (by arizona zervas and it's just the "roxanne roxanne" part usually) to her and will purposefully call her roxanne to annoy/
