If you were to ask around, the first thing people would point out about Nari would be her hardworking nature. Being both a rising actress and part of a girl group, Nari does whatever she's able to ensure she can give her 110% in both aspects. From being the last person to leave the practice room to asking seniors on how to act certain scenes better, Nari works hard to give the best performance every single time. The people who have worked with Nari would also praise how much of a patient and calm person she is. Despite how the media and fans of Byul compare the two sisters, they've never seen her falter. And even when things don't work out straight away, Nari would never rush the staff and even manages to keep her cool even when she's bombarded by ridiculous question from the press. Her kind nature is also a popular talk amongst the staffs and fans. She would help the staff clean up, buy them gifts during harsh weather seasons and even makes sure to treat her fans with warmth by how she seems to care for each of her fans whenever she sees them.
However, behind closed doors - there's another side to Nari that she keeps hidden. Due to the fact that she's related to one of the biggest stars in South Korea, Nari is never short of people trying to get close to her in hopes she'll mention them to her older sister. It's the main reason why Nari has a hard time trusting anyone who claims they want to be friends with her and an even more difficult time asking for favors in worry that they'll just use her to get a step closer to Byul. Not only that, there's not a lot that's known about Nari besides her public persona. There's only a handful of people that know what exactly goes around in Nari's head and in her life and she wants to keep it that way - the less people know details about her, the better it is for herself. Perhaps the words that she's heard and actually do effect her self-esteem by how insecure Nari is with her own skills. Being pressured by the public, critics and fans, Nari often thinks she's always falling short of everyone's expectations of her performance and whatever she does will never be good enough.
Because people refer her as Bae Byul's sister and forget that she's Bae Nari.
Nari’s birth had been a mistake – that’s what she had always believed in as she watched Byul become the center of attention. Byul was the prettiest and the most social as she managed to make everyone gravitate towards her no matter what she did.
Byul had been an actress child, starring in different roles as well as shooting commercials with top stars. People would come up to Nari and dish over how great it was to have such a famous older sister. It seemed that everyone only wanted to get closer to Nari in hopes they would get sneak peeks of Byul or even be noticed by the older sibling.
Byul wanted everything to be a competition against the only other daughter in the family – she would talk big about how she was getting so much money that their parents only needed to rely on her and how she was going to buy big houses for their parents once she was older. “I’m the best daughter, aren’t I?” she would say aloud, just enough for Nari to hear from her room.
Still, Nari doesn’t say anything against her sister and let’s her be. She doesn’t say anything when she hears the kids saying how surprised they were that Nari looked like that in comparison to Byul. She doesn’t say anything when the kids asked why she wore simple clothes when Byul was dressed in brands from head to toe. She doesn’t say anything when the teachers keep saying that she should just become an actress like Byul.
Nari tries to pay no mind to what everyone says and focuses most of her attention on her parents, her younger brother and school. She doesn’t watch any of the dramas Byul stars in despite how her friends keep on asking for spoilers and barely even talks to the older woman.
But as fate would have it, Nari dreamed of becoming an idol as she watches the groups perform on stages. So, she takes a chance when she hears IJ Entertainment was holding auditions and with luck – she nails it and ends up becoming a trainee under the same company as her older sister.
Sadly for Nari, it would be the start of what would be a tragic fate.

Both being artists under IJ Entertainment, the two have definitely crossed paths before. It's not until Nari accidentally walks in on Wonsik in the dance practice room during one late night do they become closer. She's read the artcles written about him and how they kept judging his looks and weight. She could understand how it felt to read those hurtful words and in concern, she asked him if he's alright which was met with silence. So, Nari opens up to him about her own problems about how she's constantly being pushed under Byul's shadow no matter what she did. And this helps Wonsik to open up to her as well and they spent the rest of the night talking to one another, being able to relate to what the other felt. Worried over how their friendship would cause more attention, they kept it hidden with minimal interactions at music or award shows.
They've spent countless of hours -talking about how awful IJ had treated them while drinking. And Nari's the person who convinced him to take another chance at being a singer to sign under Starverse once he leaves IJ Entertainment. Now that they're signed under the same company and reunited once again, Nari makes her friendship with Wonsik known. She hangs out with him at the company's cafe, cafeteria and at the rooftop lounge and even mentions him in her social media posts or interviews. She sticks by his side through thick and thin and wants nothing more than to see her best friend be happy.
While still a trainee under IJ Entertainment, Nari had been casted in a few uncredited roles in some of Byul’s dramas in hopes the public would build up hype, anticipating IJ’s new girl group once it was announced that Nari was in the line-up.
When Nari took her first official step into the acting industry, she was mainly offered small roles in hopes that Nari’s connection with Byul would bring in more viewers. And as that strategy proved to work, Nari saw offers for secondary roles which would evolve into leading roles.
Looking through her history of dramas she’s acted in, it’s safe to say that Nari is a versatile actress who can portray her characters very well. Whether it be a jealously driven character to a spunky, optimistic one – Nari shows that she can adapt to any given role so far.
Her main works are in web-dramas and mini-drama series with her typical genres being romance and comedy. If given the chance, she'd like to test her skills at horror or action genres.

Nari was around 12 years old when she passed the auditions held by IJ Entertainment. Some say the only reason she was accepted was because she was related on one of IJ's biggest stars, Bae Byul. This was when Nari began to train, awaiting the day where she would finally debut as an idol on stage. Countless of hours did she spend in the walls of the company as she took up vocal lessons, rap lessons and learning Japanese as a required skill. And while Nari began to work hard to her unknown fate, Byul was already gaining offers for commercial shoots and projects that were desperate to cast her.

At the age of 15 does Nari finally debut and she can hear the other trainees whisper how it’s all because of her famous sister. Even while they smile and congratulate her, it’s not hard to see that they’re all hoping Nari would get them in touch with her sister. So, the girl debuts as “Bae Bitna”, the charming lovely maknae who was the face of her group.
Their debut stage becomes a trending topic as article after article reports on Nari’s debut as an idol. People were itching to see Byul’s sister and for what reason, Nari never knew. Their interviews were flooded with questions about Byul such as how did she treat the juniors as a senior and what words of advice did the give to the group – they all wanted a scoop on Byul despite their debut being a different matter.
Nari is met with harsh criticism from the public, stating how she was pretty but lacked the skills to become an idol. Their debut song didn’t chart that high but it was enough for them to at least get their name out there to the public.

Almost a year after their debut stage, the public was curious when IJ Entertainment suddenly announces that Nari would be making her small-screen debut with a small role. All of a sudden, “Bae Bitna” becomes trending on Naver as they compare the sisters' acting skills with each other.
Due to her small jump in popularity, the group’s comeback song charts a little higher and their fanbase starts growing at a steady pace. Nari didn’t think she’d have to focus on acting as she had trained to become an idol but IJ had other plans and suddenly, Nari has to have acting lessons on top of her busy idol schedule. She doesn’t get to see the other members much besides when they’re at the dorm or during dance practices and Nari realizes that she’s not on good terms with the rest of the group.

Nari starts acting in more dramas with small roles but it’s still enough to feed her fans and the public. Her company soon opens her own Twitter and personal Instagram in hopes to lure in more fans to interact with Nari and starts to promote only Nari as they send her off to variety shows. But when she comes back to the dorm, none of her members greet her or ask how she did and simply ignores her. They’re hurt, she knows but no matter how many times she told the company that they should have the group appear together – she gets shut down and asked to think of herself first.
Fans of their group as well as other fans begin to notice how IJ began to promote only Nari and they took out their frustration and anger on Nari’s twitter’s and Instagram – calling her out because they assumed she didn’t do anything to help her group’s popularity rise.

It’s in 2016 does Nari really blow up in popularity as she lands her first leading role and records her first OST. She quickly gains a big fanbase and suddenly, it’s Byul who’s being compared to Nari as they commented on how amazing Nari’s skills were in both acting and singing wise. The public even begins to approve of her when her company announces that Nari would be debuting as a solo artist.
Her debut album does very well in charts, nearly dominating all the big music shows. She goes on to more variety shows, special emcee/host episodes, gaining endorsement deals and advertising contracts, and having other idols be interested in collabing with her. With how well she was doing, there was simply no other way than going up for her career path. Even if she had to endure so much hate, criticsm, comparison and had to juggle between being an actress, a girl group member and a solo artist - Nari would do it all if it meant she could be favored by her fans.
Nari thought that this was finally be where things would go right for her, finally she doesn’t have to listen what people say about her and the differences between Nari and Byul. And maybe… Maybe people would see her as Bae Nari.
[ 2017 ]
Until in early-2017 did Nari's career began to plummet when a news article was published claiming that Nari had threatened her older sister to back out of certain contracts so that Nari could be signed in instead. The article took a huge blow - her group was being boycotted, the ratings for her dramas dropped and brands pulled back their deals with her. Her followers on her social media decreased and #CancelBitna began to trend.
And what did her company do? Absolutely nothing. They continued to give Byul support and encouragement while leaving Nari to fend for herself. Nari went silent, almost as if she disappeared off the face of Earth until news came out around late 2017 that Nari's contract had ended and she was no longer under her previous company.
All her social media accounts had been deleted and even the articles that were the reason why Nari's career fell could no longer be found. She felt so utterly cheated and used that she became closed off, refusing to leave her house for months after the incident that happened. She couldn't even bare to show her face to the world, filled with worry over how the public would critize and spit in her direction.
For almost a year, Nari shut herself down and cursed at the world. Her apartment became the only place she could ever feel safe at and every time she even thought of going outside, even if it was only to buy some food at the store nearby, she would begin to shake and her mind would fill with thoughts of how people were going to point their fingers at her and call her "the bad guy." She stays hidden in the walls of her apartment, away from the people who would continue to watch every move she does. At some point, even slight eye contact with a stranger would make her entire body shake.
But perhaps something finally clicked in her brain - that something wasn't right. Why had she been the one painted in the wrong when she was the victim of lies? Why was she the one hiding in shame and in fear when the one who caused all this damage was smiling her pretty face on camera?
After over a year of silence, Nari stuns the world once more when news break out that she signed in with Starverse in late 2018. She's about to come back better than ever - and she's determined to let the world know just how much shine she's got inside her.
