BACKGROUND: Jihyun was born on the November 19, 1996, valentines day ! she is an only child that grew up with her parents in seoul, south korea. Her parents are both doctors so she didnt really have much family time with them. Jihyun had a hard time making friends while growing up, because she was homeschooled in elementary. being home a lot, Jihyun found herself enjoying listening to kpop, especially the vocal parts. She looked up to Hyuna a lot, Jihyun found her passion and wanted to a vocalist of a kpop group. Her parents supported her decision, as they did not care much about the career Jihyun wanted to pursue. Her freshman year at highschool, was Jihyun’s first year of public school. She struggled a lot, with making friends and finding her way around school. But, she eventually fit in and created a band with some of her friends

At the age of 14, she auditioned for Pledis Entertainment. a few months later, news that she was accepted ! a few years later on her 17th birthday, she decided to leave Pledis Entertainment due to the fact that Pledis weren't going to debut a new girl group in the future and only to focus on their boy group. After recovering, she realized that she really wants to be an artist and inspire others, therefore auditioning for S.M Entertainment when she was 20. She got accepted as well and has been training ever since.

TRAINEE LIFE: Before auditioning for S.M her first company was Pledis Entertainment which was home to NU'EST and Seventeen, even though they're weren't many females at Pledis since Pristin and After School have disbanded they thought that they weren't going to debut another group which they didn't so Jihyun left Pledis and went to audition for S.M who were actually debuting a girl group since Red Velvet' debut. Jihyun got into SM when she found out about auditions happening near her. She already had a bit of training under her belt, she'd go to dance class every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday afternoons. Her brother was actually the one who told her about them, as he heard it from a school friend and knew she would be interested. So, after 3 weeks of practice, Jihyun came up with a routine with the same I Got A Boy by SNSD, coming up with her own dance breaks and rap. When she auditioned in May of 2015, she was accepted into the company the next month, earning the approval of her brother. She started training almost immediately.

RELATIONSHIP: Well when they first met each other they didn’t have the chance to talk a lot. But when she auditioned for Pledis and became a trainee they never went near each other or talk that much. Joshua found Jihyun in the dance room crying, feeling anxious about everything making Jun to frown and went to comfort her. Causing both of them to get close. But later on when Yerin found out she was falling in love with Jun, she started to ignore him a lot because she thought that Joshua will reject her and she doesn’t want to lose her best friend. But when Joshua found out that she was ignoring him it made him super sad and s started to get worried for him. When jun found Jihyun he pulled her to the dance room and asked her why she was ignoring him. Joshua bering Jihyun she started to tell him why not knowing that she just confessed to him, she was frozen at her place she was about to run away but jun pulled her for a hug confessing to her. They started to date secretly but they are super clingy especially Joshua but Jihyun didn’t mind since she loved him for being clingy. But they sometimes never had time for each other since Jihyun was preparing for a comeback in a different agency and Joshua will always be performing. So the only days they can hang out are only Saturday and Sunday. But Jihyun told Joshua that they should break up since she is scared of the company finding out and the fans. But jun didn’t want to break up so he did the dumbest thing. He went to her dorms at 3 am asking her for forgiveness but Jihyun didn’t know what he was doing so she forgave him. Later on their relationship continued being strong.
