Happy New Year! | Top 10 Songs of 2019

Happy New Year!

Well, 2019 was sure a doozy.

This year was kind of weird for everyone, am I right?

From group disbandments to members leaving, tragic accidents, scandals, and suicides, 2019 was the peak of depression among the Kpop fan community. I truly hope that 2020 is better because I don't know how much craziness we can handle. I hope that 2020 will be a better year for everyone.

So, without further ado, let's see the songs I liked the most this year. Keep in mind that this is my own opinion and feel free to agree or disagree with me but don't be a about it; no one likes a .

Honorable Mentions :

  1. VAV - Poison. These handsome and talented boys impressed me this year with this amazing song and concept. I will surely check them out in the future and will support them.
  2. CL - In the name of love (Album). I will always be a supporter of my girls after all 2NE1 brought me into K-Pop and I was so broken to see them fell apart. CL was always amazing and I am so glad she left YG in pursuit of something better and this album surely proves she has amazing potential. She's a Queen!
  3. Hyuna - Flower Shower. | Dawn - Money. I decided to pair them together since they are together and really they're adorable together. I was so happy to see them on stage again and I've got to admit they've -especially Hyuna- impressed me. I am glad Psy's treating them well.
  4. Brown Eyed Girls - RE_vive (Album). The Queens are back and their album is really something worth listening to. Their vocals are no joke and I am glad to see they stick to their style. I am so happy that they still stick together even after all these years. Go listen to them!
  5. Monsta X - All English Songs. I know this is a K-POP songs top but I am bending the rules a bit because they are worth mentioning. Their English songs are gold and I can't wait for the full album to appear in February. Go check them out if you didn't, these boys are something else!

Top 10 :

10. Baekhyun - UN Village.

I feel like this song is criminally underrated. Baekhyun was always one of my favorite vocalists from SM but this time I feel like he outdid himself. The whole vibe of the song is absolutely amazing and combined with his sweet honey vocals, it makes for a killer song so if you didn't listen to it, go and listen right now! Actually, listen to the whole album! Baekhyunnie, I hope for a 2020 comeback!

9. Lee Hi - No one.

Lee Hi always delivers and this song is no exception. I missed her voice so much and this song is just what I needed. I liked the vibe of the song, the whimsicality of the music video and her raspy golden vocals. She's an amazing artist and unfortunately, YG didn't promote this song as well as it should've. I am glad she left YG and I am waiting for more amazing songs from this very promising artist.

8. SEVENTEEN- FEAR.

God damn it, these boys are coming for my heart! I have to be honest, their songs were always a hit or miss in my opinion mostly because of their cutesy concepts. I am not a big fan of flower boys and this change was absolutely incredible. I fell in love with the song from the first time I listened to it and don't even get me started on the music video -the amount of handsomeness, artsiness, and glitter is too much for me to handle. I feel like I judged them too harshly in the past because of their cute songs and I will pay way more attention to them because of damn those vocals!

7. Twice - Fancy.

Yes, I am not a big fan of cute concepts but it seems that no matter how cute of a song Twice makes, I won't be able to get it out of my head. Okay, this is not over-the-top-cute and it is a very nice change in their style. I didn't really like it at first but then I couldn't get it out of my head, their songs are all so catchy; you can still hear me now singing their songs and tormenting my friends with my amazing dying whale vocals. I am looking forward to their 2020 comeback and hopefully Mina's return.

6. Taeyeon- Spark.

Taeyeon is Queen; need I say more? Amazing concept, amazing vocals, stunning music video and she is absolutely gorgeous. She's surely one of the best vocalists and one of the strongest artists in the industry and with each comeback, she manages to floor me. Seriously, can anyone dislike the song? Go listen to it, stream it and show your love for this masterpiece.

5. Red Velvet - Psycho.

For me, Red Velvet is currently one of the best girl groups out there and this song proves it. They had a lot of comebacks this year but none of them were as amazing as this song. The whole vibe, the dark-ish concept, the music video, everything is just amazing and if you didn't listen to them I strongly advise you to check it out because it's surely worth it!

4. Hong JinYoung - Love Tonight.

This trot song absolutely conquered my heart. I loved the song from the first listen, it's so catchy and you can't help but sing along. The music video is also absolutely hilarious and the kitty that appears in it is so darn cute! I am so happy the song gained popularity and I urge you to listen to it as well because you'll definitely like it.

3. A.C.E. - Undercover.

Holy Mother of God, these boys like to hit hard. A.C.E. is shaping up to be one of the strongest boy groups these days and honestly, I don't mind. This song got me hard and since it appeared I kept humming and singing it continuously. They climbed my list of favorite boy groups faster than anyone and now they're coming for my life -especially you BK, how dare you? Anyway, back to the song, I love the whole vibe of it, the vocals and rap and also on point and the music video is a leathery-clad masterpiece. You can see I am totally in love with them.

2.Monsta X - Alligator.

Hello, I'm an alli-alligator and I am here to ruin your life! God damn it, Monsta X! First off, the song is absolutely powerful and they're once again proving that they are one of the best groups out there *fight me*. I mean how can you not love their songs and fall in love with their concepts -and faces. This song -the album actually- deserves all the awards. Then, there was the music video, and the shirts, them dancing in the water surrounded by flames -my flame of passion burning for them. Please check them out while I wipe the drool off the floor. Thank you!

1. Exo - Obsession.

I feel personally attacked and I absolutely love it. For the second year, Exo is on top of my list and for obvious reasons. God damn it, these boys hit very hard and leave me floor, absolutely speechless and with a . Who thought that this concept was okay for my poor heart? Who let Kai take that crop-top on once again and who the hell allowed Suho to become Satan? I need some explanations EXO (I am available to talk every day, in my bedroom from midnight until 6 am, that's when the magic happens)

I am a er for these kinds of concepts and I love the song so much. The only downside is that I wish the others would be there. Can you imagine X-EXO Xiumin? Soft Kitty Xiumin turned into Evil-Soft Kitty! I would've died! Or D.O. turning into an Evil cute Penguin or something or Lay becoming some kind of dark unicorn. Okay, I digress; you got the idea. EXO slayed this year!

So there you have it, my personal top 10 Songs of 2019! I hope you enjoy and you listen to all of these amazing songs!

I also hope 2020 is the best year for you and I hope y'all will continue reading my stories -shameless promoter-
