Yesterday I found a fic I read a long time ago - and loved with all my heart. That gave me this idea, of a list of sharing my favorite EXO fics (and maybe SHINee fics later on) because this is a fanfic-site and we're all here to read and write.

Now I have read a lot of fics in my lifetime but I've decided to limit myself to 5. So here is my Top 5 EXO fics.

 

NUMBER 1

TRY TO REMEMBER (AND IF YOU REMEMBER THEN FOLLOW)

Pairing: Xiuhan

This is the fic I was looking for yesterday. I decided to start with that. It's magnificent, an absolute masterpiece. It's also a relatively long fic (60k) and on the AO3 link the entire story is posted as one chapter so there's that. But in all honesty, this story is just so wonderfully written. It'll leave you crying, it'll leave you laughing. It's just a masterpiece. 

 

NUMBER 2

AEROSOL HEARTS

Pairing: Xiukai

YES, I know. I know, believe me. Xiukai? What the is that pairing? It's a rare pairing, I admit that and that is probably why it seems to be a little -- uhm, well, forgotten? But it's such a beautiful story, the language is amazing, the entire thing is just well-planned and beautifully created. Reading Aerosol Hearts for the first time was what brought me into Xiukai as a pairing in the first place (and now it's my OTP so I mean, that should say something about the fic...). Sometimes I wonder "was this really as good as I remember it?" and I read it again and I stand corrected every time - it really is that good.

 

NUMBER 3

WE'RE ON THE PAY ROLL

Pairing: Sechen / Xiuyeol 

This is not a long fic by any means, but it's just hilariously uplifting and so so so fun. I'm not a comedy writer of any sorts and this is really just a small thing but I love it so much. The dynamics are amazing, the tiny banter, the little details. And the language is so vivid yet still so fun. This entire story just makes my day every time I read it and it's ridiculous like how can a story put a smile on your face every time you read it. But it can and this one does.

 

NUMBER 4

EXODUS

Pairing: Chenyeol

This is that one fic I never knew I'd find and never knew I would love this much. The detail is extraordinary, the realism is just ... the research really shines through. It's an amazing fic. Sure sure, it's Chenyeol, who the sees them as a couple? Well, I do - and you should read this fic. I promise you, it's worth it. It's really really worth it.

 

NUMBER 5

STOP BEING A

Pairing: Chinguline / Baekchen

This is not really a romantic fic. I mean, the Baekchen is kinda implicit so it's not like it's written out in open terms or they ever kiss. It's a wholesome fic, is what it is. So ing wholesome. It's a prison!au but it's just so hilariously written and oh my god. Like if you're not that into pairings, cool, read this fic regardless because it's so much more than a love story. It's a story about chosen family, really. In prison, yeah. God, the love I have for this! 

 

BONUS

FRIED EGGS AND VERTIGO

Pairing: Baekchen

I know, I know. Top 5 fics, she said and here she is with another one, a bonus one. Forget about that. This fic here is a blessing to all of us mortals who dare call ourselves writers. I love fried eggs and vertigo with a very deep passion. It's an amazing fic, just - the characters are brilliantly written and everything just falls into place so seemlessly, so softly. It's a love story, but also - it's just a really good story. 

 

So - these are my favorite EXO fics (and I have a lot more to choose from, many of which I also love incredibly much!) but damn, it's hard to choose. >.<'
