The best thing in the world if you ask me. I want to write family stories but I have a story to finish first ( me) so I'm just going to write down small family scenarios and au's in this blogpost rn because I honestly can't get enough of family life right now. >.<'

1. Adoption!AU

Chanyeol and Chen adopts a toddler girl. When she turns 6 and starts school, some mean mom gets angry with Chenyeol (because gay couple, yikes) and she takes it out on their daughter, making snide remarks about how her fathers are immoral and how they can hand her back any second and probably will, and how they'll never love her as much as they would if they got biological children of their own and how they'll split to find wives and get kids and she'll be all forgotten because - they didn't love her. When she finally bows down (after months of asking Chenyeol for confirmation of their love) and tells them what's up, Chanyeol goes ing crazy. He would go punch that woman in the face right ing now if he could but Jongdae holds him back and instead they talk to their daughter about how much they love her, they answer all her questions and they confirm their love for her every time she asks - there's literally never a time in their day when she can't come and be like "do you still love me?" and both men will give her a hug and a kiss on the cheek and tell her how much they love her. In the end they develop this hand sign they give each other every day that means 'I love you to the moon and back' - and she continues to do the hand sign with her fathers long into adulthood and maybe I'd write a scene at last where they're old and she's at one of her fathers bedside and she's making this handsign and he gives it back because he's too weak to do much else and when she leaves, he dies of old age because he knows what it means.

2. I didn't know I was pregnant!AU

My sweetheart Eunsook has unprotected with her bf Kibum because she has an IUD and they've been together for years and it makes sense. She's kinda underweight because she's been struggling with herself a lot, so she hasn't had her period in years and well, besides, even the IUD makes irregular or missing periods normal. So because of a stressful period in her life where she's been losing a little weight more than usual, she doesn't think twice when she doesn't get her period. She's feeling fatigued, though, and sleeps but just says it's all because of stress. Makes sense, she's tired. She doesn't get morning sickness and because baby is apparently developing near her spine, she doesn't get a characteristic baby bump either. She's not entirely flat but when you're super skinny, any weight gained is kinda good and she doesn't look pregnant. And then she has these awful awful stomach cramps and some back pain and she's literally crying out in pain. Kibum comes running and they rush her to the hospital and honestly, she's in labor but she can't even process that shock right now. 

So she gives birth and it's all exhausting and baby boy is put on her chest. But at the same time, wow, this was not ... what they had expected. At all. Life changes in a split second there. 

3. Disabled kid!AU

Baekhee and her wife Sookyung notice when their son, Jongin, is 18 months old, that he has a hard time standing and crawling. Something's wrong. Off to the doctor they go and there Jongin is diagnosed with Duchenne's Muscular Dystrophy. He's put under treatment, of course, but the disease cannot be cured. So the story would basically just be their life and the struggle with having a disabled child. Jongin is a wonderful character, his personality is SO sweet and he's so accepting of his disease. Sure, there are times where he is so frustrated he can't do what other kids can - like play soccer or dance, and when he gets his first wheelchair at 9 he's sulking and crying for weeks because life. Baekhee and Sookyung watch their son and try to be as encouraging as they possibly can, but it hurts them to see other boys run around and do things kid should be doing while their own son struggles to even walk upright. It's a tough life sometimes but also filled with joy and happiness and well, all the milestones that other normal families have like crying when Jongin graduates. 

4. Single father!AU

Minseok has three daughters. His wife isn't in the picture anymore after their divorce. He's got twin daughters, Baekhee and Chanmi, and then the youngest, Sehee, who's deaf. Sehee being deaf really s up his life at first because how is he supposed to balance raising twins and a deaf child - it's hard enough with the three of them without her hearing loss. But it is what it is and he is fiercely protective of all three of his daughters as well. When Baekhee and Chanmi learn that their sister is deaf they go above and beyond to help her out - even if their help is sometimes misguided. Minseok also has his sister (the girls' aunt) and she steps in quite often to take the twins so he can go to the doctor with Sehee or so on. When he first learns of her deafness, he googles deaf communities near him and he asks a lot of them if he and his daughter can join - or honestly, just for any help, because who better to help than someone who has lived their life as deaf? 

In one of those communities (who are mostly all positively surprised and willing to help a sweet deaf girl grow confident) he meets Kim Jongdae. He's deaf and has lived all his life as deaf. He's got two sons, one of whom are the same age as Baekhee and Chanmi, and both sons are hearing. He helps Minseok a lot with Sehee and they probably end up in love. It's cute, okay. 

5. Please don't hand me the baby!AU

Do Kyungsoo steps into the hospital with a gift in his hands and finds his way to the maternity ward where his friends have just had their first child. He hands over the gifts to Chanyeol and Minseon and looks at their sweet son, so small and so fragile. And then Minseon says something that freaks him entirely out - she asks if he wants to hold the baby. And no, god no, Kyungsoo doesn't know how to hold a baby, he's going to kill the damn thing, what the heck is she thinking?! But before he has voiced his fear, he's handed a bundle of cloth and in it, a baby. He's holding on tight but also very carefully and light so as to not squish the baby and all the while his mind just goes "i cant do it, i cant do it, i cant do it". He asks for the name, they tell him the child is called Sehun, and when Sehun opens his eyes and stares directly at Kyungsoo, despite all efforts and everything he has said about not liking babies, he completely falls in love. Stupid baby. 

When Minseon wants him back, he's not late to give him over but at the same time, he leaves the hospital with a kind of .. strange feeling in his chest. He could actually hold a baby and not kill it. That's more than he thought. Maybe he isn't that clumsy anyway. 

6. Grocery shopping!AU

God help Baekhyun and his 3 toddlers. His stupid husband is out on a business trip and that leaves Baekhyun to do the grocery shopping. But by god is it not easy with 3 toddlers. One is 18 months old (Sehun), the other 3 (Jongin) and the eldest 4 (Kyungsoo). It's just a mess. Kyungsoo wants the new toy truck and he doesn't leave the aisle. Just staring at it in wide-eyed wonder. Baekhyun tries everything to get him away from the stupid toy, but he's not going to give in and buy it - and nothing works. Not even threatening to leave without him. When he picks him up, Kyungsoo starts crying - setting off his youngest brother as well who just cries because Kyungsoo cries. Jongin wants candy, lots of candy and keeps putting it into the cart along with other useless stuff like tampons (no, we don't need tampons when we're only male in this household Jongin) and every time Baekhyun puts it back, Jongin stomps his feet and walks in the opposite direction. He doesn't go far, though, because he doesn't like losing Baekhyun out of sight but still. When Baekhyun says no for the like 25th time, Jongin flings himself to the floor to throw a temper tantrum and Sehun, of all children, starts clapping and laughing like it's the funniest thing ever. Baekhyun just wants to sit on the floor and cry as well but he's an adult and he can do this. 

When Jongdae comes home from his business trip, however, Baekhyun tells him he's never going grocery shopping with their 3 sons alone again. Ever. 

7. Cats & babies!AU

Jongdae has a cat. He has two, to be honest. He also has a very pregnant wife, who's about to give birth any minute. They've talked about the cats and how they'll prepare for the new family addition, but nothing ever goes as planned does it? So when wife gives birth, Jongdae's cats first stay away from the strange thing until they learn "hey, it's a kitten!!!". Then they become fiercely protective over it, both of them. They snuggle up next to it, causing great fear in the parents that they're going to choke the kid with their fur. They fetch wife when the child cries and they sit guard, protecting the baby from any strangers. Only Jongdae and his wife can pick up their baby, everybody else (even grandparents) gets clawed. 

When baby becomes a toddler, he starts cuddling the cats as well. At first they allow the touching, he's still a kitten. But then they start trying to teach him things like swishing tails mean no and hissing means you've gone too far. Jongdae and wife steps in before anything happens and also try to teach their child that he has to respect the cats and how to do so. 

Until one night when cats bring in a mouse and places it in front of the crib - and then continues bringing in "gifts" to the toddler. That's when Jongdae and wife become a little .... you know, cats, please. Gross. But the cats know this is a baby and they're just doing what they can to protect him. As the kid grows, the cats start cuddling with him on his bed, they know when he's sick even before he develops symptoms and they greet him before anyone else. They bring him toys and love and affection (even more than they brings Jongdae) and honestly, they just love the kid very much and he loves them. 

So when they die when their son is 10, he's literally crying so much he can't be in himself and he cries for days. He's just so sad. Jongdae and wife are too but not nearly as heartbroken as their son. He's just a crying mess. 6 months later (when he has been allowed to grieve - and they all have, tbh) they get a new cat and son chooses her from the adoption center and boy, she just loves him back right away. He's got a gift with cats. 

Sorry not sorry. Families are the best. I want to read family stories D:
