TRAINEE LIFE Chaehee started training at SM in 2004. Back then, she was an optimistic, cheerful, sweet little 10 year old girl. Trainings were hard, rules were strict and hours were long, but Chaehee didn't mind, as she believed she was going to be a star. She even didn't mind the punishment of being made to run around the practise room while singing, which she often recieved as she was late for her practises due to coming right after school. Somewhere around 2005-2006, word got round in SM that they were going to debut a girl group. Chaehee, wanting to be chosen for the group, put all her effort into practising hard for evaluations, but alas, failed to make it to the line-up for the group, which would later be known as SNSD. She was upset, but attributed it to the fact that she was barely even in her teens then and was considered too young to debut and just continued to work hard, hoping to get chosen the next time.
Shortly after SNSD had debuted, SM announced that they were going to debut another girl group, this time a five-membered one. Chaehee was one of the trainees chosen for a pre-debut evaluation, but again, she failed to make the lineup of the new group, later to be known as f(x). Though it hurt, she just accepted that her best was not good enough. Years passed, and the 2010s came. In 2014, SM debuted yet another girl group called Red Velvet, and no prizes for guessing who didn't make it again. 10 years had gone by and Chaehee had not debuted, and she decided enough was enough and left SM Entertainment.
After leaving SM, Chaehee decided to audition for other companies, but every audition she attended ended in "sorry" or "better luck next time”. She had auditioned for practically every company under the sun and was about to give up. She decided that a fairly new company she found called Big Hit would be the last company she auditioned for, and if she failed the audition like she failed every other, she would give up on idol life and go to college. However, after Chaehee finished singing her song, she was surprisingly told by one of the audition judges that they thought she would be a great addition to the Big Hit family. And better, after she became a trainee, she was added to a group called Lunation, set to debut just the next year. However, after some members of a senior female group proved to be too much trouble, Lunation's debut was indefinitely postponed.
