ER or A&E?

Writing medical stories is hard.

 

Which term do you know best?

 

ER (Emergency Room)

or

A&E (Accident & Emergency)

 

And which should I use?

 

(I know some people also refer to it as ED (Emergency Department) but that's off the table lmao.)

Well I know both terms actually but I am more familiar with A&E since my country uses that one officially but in terms of reader's pov I think ER is a lot more safer as many might know that one rather than A&E.

Oh there's also this terms - OT (Operation Theater) or SR (Surgery Room).

I think most readers would know what 'ER' is but not the other ones. Sometimes you have to simplify things in order for them to keep reading as well. Unless its like a one or two chapter mention then go for the full meal :P
