APPEARANCE
When Han Eunkyung enters a room, time seems to stop for a mere second and heads are turning once the freezing halt comes to an end. The aura of intimidation is ever surrounding her, and when you look at her, you immediately know that she is superior. She looks flawless in her business dress, make-up on point, not even a single hair looking out of place. Her beauty is of a refined kind, like a mature wine that is ready to be tested, alluringly shining in the dim light of a cozy room. Seductive business, that is what Eunkyung is all about. And the very moment she smiles at you, you're unable to escape the claws of the huntress. When she is aiming for you, you know she is not playing, she is not going to be merciful. She strikes as much as her looks.

TRAITS professional, emancipated, eloquent, dependant, manipulative, diplomatic, no-nonsense, judgmental, calculating

ELABORATION
Professional, emancipated, eloquent
Eunkyung was born into the world of business, thus she breathes and lives business to the very extent to believe she was born for something really great. With a father that powerful, how can it be any different? As the offspring of a Samsung CEO, she was taught  high class etiquette from the cradle and not seldomly the airs and graces of her almost "divine" heritage shine through her behavior. Eunkyung knows she is a woman, a professional business woman at that and therefore she knows what is all too often expected of such. Especially in Korea, the image and role of women is limited to a certain reputation and she detests it with a passion. Having lived a fair bunch of years abroad in the U.S. has left its impact on the young woman, nevertheless, and eradicated the belief that she needed to follow the stupid patriarchic ideas of Korean society.  Knowing the world of men in Korea and how the business wheel spins, she learned to superficially adapt to it and use her eloquence  to her own benefit. She knows how to coax people into acting after her will, she knows how to speak to people to let them think a certain way of her, she just knows all to well how to articulate and present herself. That's how business works, baby. That's how to be successful in a world where the Survival of the Fittest is taken oh so seriously.

Dependant, manipulative, diplomatic
No matter how independant and strong of a woman Eunkyung seems to be, she is very aware of the fact that a single (wo-) man alone won't be able to stand a chance in this big, cruel world. She very soon developed a radar to detect people that can be of use for her and that she can easily approach and talk into  joining her following. It is no secret that Eunkyung has great leadership skills, being a smart, well-educated and overly self-confident woman, but carrying the weight of responsibility on your very own shoulders all alone is an unthinkable thing, you won't be able to get rich by running an entire company with no employers either, will you? Eunkyung always has a very clear idea of how things have to go, she will think all the ways through, see what is the best outcome and try to reach her goal as efficiently and quickly as possible. If others, especially teammates, get into her way, she will use eloquence and a well-founded argumentation to get them to follow her, but if that is not possible, she is diplomatic enough to negotiate. Be prepared for business negotiation, however. She won't stand nonsense and if you're going to have a flawed argumentation, she is going to strike as fast as a SWAT sniper. If you manage to convince her of your own ideas and ways and she sees the logic and use of it, you'll have gained her respect and thus her support.

No-nonsense, judgmental, calculating
With everything being said about Eunkyung earlier, you might be wondering what a woman like her is doing in the K-Pop industry. Especially as a trainee. Well... to be honest, if Eunkyung had the chance, she would go a completely different path, but alas, life is what happens while you're making plans. Eunkyung is absolute no-nonsense and there is nothing worse to her than faked childishness and that completely unrealistic idea of innocence that drench the K-Pop genre so much, that it sometimes gets really hard for Eunkyung to hide her disapproval, if not even disgust. Yes, there is a lot of judgment in here and it shows Eunkyung's maybe strongest negative trait: the judgment. Eunkyung will judge you, no matter what. The way you dress, you speak, it will give her an immediate impression of your mindset, your intelligence and your behavior. And let me tell you, there is nothing worse to her than plebs. Eunkyung is judgmental to the point, that she thinks all Uncle fans are crazy, e erts, all female fans are lonely and desperate and K-Pop artists being nothing but people that e themselves to them. Of course, she thinks she is above that all. Yet, it helps her a lot seeing the people around her as not equal to her being, and a lot easier to use as chess figures in the war against her own father.

Have you ever heard of the term "being born with a silver spoon"? Eunkyung was born with a platinum spoon covered in diamonds. That is how it feels like to be born to one of the CEOs of world leading company Samsung. However, being born that rich and especially as a girl, does come with a lot of disadvantages, too.
As the youngest of four children, Eunkyung always had to fight for attention. As the second girl, it was hard to ever get approval of her father, who focused a lot on the two older sons and dismissed the two daughtersd into their mother's charge. Right from the beginning Eunkyung was forced to do everything amiable for a Korean woman to do: musics, arts, languages, feminine behavior perfected to a T. Everything happened for that one specific reason: making Eunkyung a perfect candidate for a prestigious and useful marriage. It never mattered what Eunkyung wanted and for a good amount of time it left her overly bitter.
When Eunkyung entered university, she planned to attend Yonsei university and major in business, like every other family member following the Han tradition. Unfortunately, she was sent to Ewha to study musics, just as her older sister did before she was married off to some influential shareholder. Eunkyung, who has been of rather rebellious nature, managed to negotiate with her parents and was allowed to get a double degree in both - musics and business. After that she coaxed her parents into sending her abroad, telling them it would probably improve her worth as a wife, even though her original idea was to prove that she was able to get a Master's Degree in business at a world renowned university.
She did, excelling at Harvard, but to little effect. When Eunkyung returned to Korea, her father held onto the idea of marrying her off, as he did send her away with the premise to become a desirable wife. Unfortunately, the time in the U.S. had only strenghtened Eunkyung's will and wish for freedom and a period of warlike father-daughter-relationship evolved. Eunkyung, having lived a liberal life with a lot more equality and female empowerment in the U.S., sabotaged every set-up marriage, scaring off every potential soon-to-be-husband by showing how much of an emancipated woman she has become, proclaiming how much she hates Korean superficiality and the beauty craze that only focuses on looks. Her father became very frustrated with Eunkyung and the more husband material she scared off, the more her father started to sabotage her possibilities to work freely and start a business on her own. As it became a seemingly  futile situation, Eunkyung decided to come up with a new plan - a deal.
Eunkyung's friend Gaeun, former member of K-Pop girlgroup After School, told Eunkyung about the artistic freedom that some people at Pledis entertainment have (she told her something about a group called Seventeen that was producing songs and dances on their own) and suddenly Eunkyung had an idea: she had heard of an upcoming show that Pledis would be involved with (rich people benefit - getting all the insider information) and offered her father to marry whoever he presented her next IF he allowed her to join Pledis and the show. The deal was easy. She wins, she also wins freedom and the wedding issue would be off the table. She loses and she marries whoever, sparing her father from any more worries about her. It's a risky plan, but sometimes you have to go all-in in life and using the very thing her father forced on her to marry her off more easily later, seemed poetic to her. Who would have thought that music  is  a way out?

▪ Eunkyung can play the piano, violin and guzheng.
▪ Eunkyung does not have a good relationship with her family. When the other girls get encouraging messages from home, she will act indifferent but deep down, she is jealous because she wishes someone would care that much for her, too.
▪ She is a SUPER picky eater. Instant food? What are you, a brute???
▪ She used to write own songs and rearrangements from popular American music (sometimes even Korean songs) during her time in the States and even had a few friends she worked together with to produce them.
▪ She doesn't believe in supernatural things.
▪ Eunkyung doesn't know a lot about specific K-Pop groups, but she knows the business very well and she also knows good old Korean songs from the times her parents were young.

▪ Han Dongwon / 53 / CEO of Samsung / Father
Dongwon's and Eunkyung's relationship is... special. It has never been a very close father-daughter relationship as her father is a very conservative person that believe in confucianism and patriarchy. Eunkyung refers to him as the "stubborn old man" and he refers to her as the "stubborn spoiled troublemaker".  He honestly doesn't believe that Eunkyung stands a chance in a K-Pop competition, so he is looking forward to see her lose and maybe become a bit more feminine by being forced into specific Korean female images by the showrunners.

▪ Lee Gaeun / 25 / Former After School member / Friends from Middle School
Gaeun and Eunkyung know each other from back in Middle School. They used to be very close but as Eunkyung pursued the path of business and Gaeun went the artistic path, their ways parted. They still kept in touch every now and then and Eunkyung trusts in Gaeun as Gaeun trusts in Eunkyung. It's that nostalgic kind of friendship that  turns you into your 15-year old self when you meet your old friend from the past.

COMPANY Pledis
TRAINING PERIOD Six Months
TRAINEE LIFE
To be honest, Eunkyung never really went that trainee path. She wouldn't refer to herself as one, neither would the other trainees count her as one of them. It's not just the short amount of time she spent at Pledis, it's also the way she gets treated. Money allowed her free entrance into the company, which way too often was already fighting for its existence due to financial challenges. Eunkyung knows the other trainees and meets them for dance practices, but she rarely meets them for any vocal coaching sessions, neither does she spend time with them outside schedules. She does not live in the dormitories, either.  Some may say a few trainees are jealous or do not understand why she's even there... they see her when she enters the building and disappears into the producing boothes most of the time. The special treatment she receives from the higher ups still disgruntles the others. No diet. No harsh criticism. Did she even sign an official contract like all of them did with the idol rules included? Probably not. Or maybe she did? Nevertheless, at least it is weird that all the coaches, managers and even the CEO talk to her in the most polite Korean they know. It's like she really was the First Lady of Korea.

SKILLS
▪ vocal - ■■■■■■■■■■
Eunkyung learned singing all her life, and it is one of the things she actually enjoys despite her parents basically forcing her to do it. She prefers English songs over Koreans, however, as she knows Koreans are deeply stuck in their conservative asses, thinking there is only one right interpretation of a song, i.e. there is only one correct octave you're allowed to sing a song in. She has a broad knowledge of technique and vocal patterns, tunes and colors. She'll definitely piss off coaches and judges by thinking she knows a lot better than all of them together.
▪ rap -
■■■■■■■□□□
Even though Eunkyung lacks quite the bite to be an aggressive rapping goddess, she knows the various kinds of rapping, how to flow and how to stress vowels and consonants to receive the result she wants. She is very eloquent and a skilled writer which makes it easy for her to write own rap lines or even improvise. She can't get obscene with her vocabulary, though, for God's sake. You won't hear her swear nor say ual things. She's a lady. She was raised like one. Keep it on a decent level, guys.
dance -
■■■■■□□□□□
Oh well... dancing. Eunkyung learned dancing, but she is not outstanding by any means. She will be able to follow dance routines, but don't expect her to burn the stage or do anything crazy or shocking. If you demand of her to do choreographies that are too hard for her, she will nope out on it and tell the person in charge to change the choreography to a level everyone can follow.  If you want her to get better, expect a long debate on the pros and cons of the necessity to be super good at dancing. And be prepared for her bringing up various famous girlgroups that were NOT outstanding dancers or were mainly dancing to very mediocre choreographies.
performance -
■■■□□□□□□□
Honestly, performing itself isn't all that hard for Eunkyung. She's a perfectionist and will try to deliver either singing, rapping or dancing as clean as possible. If there wasn't this thing called fan-service and facial expressions... Eunkyung is good at the poker-face and Ice Queen expression, but cute or seductive... oh boy, OH BOY. Don't expect too much outstanding stage-charisma, really.

variety - □□□□□□□□□□
People don't like her very much, let's be real. The problem with Eunkyung's variety skills is that she is 100% no-nonsense and won't give you fan-service EVER. She's a professional, she's a business woman. She will be polite, she will be professional, she will be like that badass CEO lady in a business meeting, but she won't be cute, she won't wink, she won't overexaggerate smiles and she won't tell you any kind of secrets or redundant information. Ask her stupid questions and you will get the answer of a politician that does not want to deal with your . She is not funny, she is not adorable. She is rather described as very distant and cold. Well some people like their ice princessess... whatever floats their boat.

OTHER TALENTS Eunkyung is an extraordinarily talented composer. Her musical education turned her into a professional on the producing, songwriting and composing parts. She loves to combine classical music with  modern music and, as she says, "grades up simple musical scales, exploring the opportunities they offer". She furthermore would make an awesome manager, if not even CEO, knowing all the business matters and tricks. Seriously, her father is doing a big mistake by forcing her into a housewife position... what a waste.

CONCEPTS tell me how comfortable your character is with each concept
cute -  NO. Just NO. NONONO. NOPE. Eunkyung is in her mid-20s and she's really not about acting like a 14-year old that wants to pleaser her pedo uncle fan. And she sure thing does not want any little girl out there in Korea to think it's desirable to do exactly that - but sometimes there is just no way around this digusting concept. But UGH.
y - Even though Eunkyung is not really into the ualizing of herself on stage, she is a lot more comfortable with this concept than with the cute concept. It's less humiliating and Eunkyung likes to comfort herself by telling herself that using -appeal is more age-appropriate for her than the other concepts.
girl crush - Okay, this is A LOT BETTER than any other concept and it makes Eunkyung feel like she can actually change something in the way too rotten and corrupt K-Pop business (even though she knows she can't). It's also something that gives her the feminism vibes she's often times missing since she came back from the U.S.
other - Ballades : YES. Yes to everything that focuses on the voice only and not on alluring dances. YES.

COMMENTS Hey there! Nice to meet you and thanks again for the deadline extension! I'm happy I had the chance to finish Eunkyung, the idea of a chaebol trainee really had me going for a while. Unfortunately, I got more busy than I expected and had to rush through this app, but I hope you can work with her as she is now and if not, please let me know and I'll fix her where I can :)
I know, I'm gambling a bit, using Samsung as her background company but I thought it makes most sense because Samsung is one of the few Chaebol companies with more than just one CEO and it makes it more reasonable to allow a possible heir to go for an idol show. If you still feel uncomfortable to use Samsung, feel free to use LG, Lotte or Hyundai instead.
