STYLE. Even though Korean students are forced to wear their school uniforms properly, Jisoo doesn't really care for stuff like that. He hates formal clothes and things wrapped around his neck, so he ends up wearing the uniform kinda sloppy. In his free time he usually wears sportive clothes.

APPEARANCE. Jisoo is extremely athletic, therefore his body is pretty well toned and muscular. He keeps good care of his hair, therefore it's always styled and makes him look either extremely badass or like some nice guy.

WHATEVER THEY SAY - YOU BETTER LISTEN TO THEM! Ever heard of the story of Red Riding Hood? If Jisoo played in it, he would be the big, bad wolf. He's not the type of guy you would want to be friends with. At school he acts up extremely cold and avoids any kind of friendship. He rather stays alone and don't you even think of touching him! If you dare, he will probably kill you - no matter if you're a guy or a girl. Amongst the students at school he is known as the bully, threatening and beating people if they start to annoy him... and just to let you know, he gets annoyed pretty easily. The problem with him is not only his aggressive and mean acting, he's on top of that pretty quick - witted and intelligent. He knows how to get people with their weakest spots and his eloquence saves him from punishment several times. Nonetheless, he's a pro in swearing. 

I'M NOT THE CLICHÉ BAD BOY. Hot, bad and on top of that stupid bully...no, that's not what you could call him. Jisoo's diligence takes him to the top spot at school often, so whatever he does, not even the teachers would stop his bullying as none of them dares to believe that someone as intelligent as him would even have the time or interest to pick on others. In fact his compensation for his ongoing studying is to look for the most annoying habits of people and then point them out for the rest of their lives. He then loves to work himself up over it until he hates the person enough to destroy his or her life either verbal or physically.
TURNING THE COIN. Of course even a bully needs a break from creating others' lives a nightmare. Once Jisoo is back home he turns into the nicest and courteous guy on earth. He loves his family to the top and tries his best to support them. Since his mother is a single - parent who doesn't earn a lot of money, Jisoo is helping out at home a lot and studies hard to get a row of scholarships. Towards his family members he's extremely protective and if somebody ever harmed them, he'd go and look for them to finish them off. As their mother works as a cleaner, something considered very low - class, Jisoo prevents others getting to know about it. It's not to protect himself, he just can't stand it hearing others badmouth just one single member of his family. He then gets aggressive easily and ends up in brawls. That's how he became very secretive about himself, he doesn't want others to judge the people he loves the most, so he never speaks about them and instead tries his best to keep a personal distance between him and others. Jisoo can get pretty jealous when it comes to Boah because he doesn't want to entrust her to other guys, that's why Chanwoo didn't have it easy to begin with because Jisoo needed some time to get used to him and accept that he is good influence to his older sister.

MY HOME IS MY CASTLE. Being the only male in the Kim household, Jisoo reigns the home... but not as a father replacement. Since his sister Boah is the eldest, she was first to gain some extra money to support their mother. Jisoo is more of the mother replacement, taking over all the things their mother can't do because she has to work the whole day. He's the one who cooks breakfast and dinner, the one who brings the youngest, Haru, to pre- school and picks her up afterwards, and even the one who cleans the house. As a brother he's cheerful and loving, he plays with Haru, sings with Haru and if she wants to be read to sleep, he even makes up his own fairytales, so the youngest doesn't get bored by one of the stories. Whenever Boah forgets to take an umbrella, Jisoo is the first to pick her up at university with one. That's how much he is dedicated to his mother and siblings.
IN THE JUNGLE I'M A LION. As we can tell so far, Jisoo on the outside is a very indifferent person who doesn't care for others if they don't belong to his family. He's bad at connecting with others, especially strangers and people he finds annoying. Mercy or pity are words he has probably never heard in his whole life. To him everyone is responsible for their own lives and he believes in a god given food chain everyone takes a spot in. And who's on top of that?

BACKGROUND. 

MY PAST IS NONE OF YOUR BUSINESS. Anger and hate doesn't come from nowhere. Jisoo's trust issues developed when his father left the family. Back then he was 13 and witnessed how the family he had loved so much was torn into two. His mother was left with his older sister, him and his younger sister. They straight faced poverty and desperation was dragging his mother to the point where she couldn't stand it for too long. His sister soon decided to put extra effort in studying, gaining several scholarships, and part - time jobs. She made it to SNU then. Jisoo adapted her study fever but instead of working, he decided to stay home and take care of his mother and little sister. 

JUST STAY AWAY FROM ME. Jisoo's father left the family without any explanation, making it especially hard for his wife and children because none of them knows what went wrong in the past. Overwhelmed by the disappointment, Jisoo started to distance himself from his schoolmates, being scared to have to go through another loss or betrayal. He swore himself to never give in to another person and broke up all his friendships he had made until his father's departure. His friends nonetheless tried to stay in contact with him and get to know about his sudden change and this led him starting to bully others. He needed an effective way to make them hate him, so he developed this bad behavior to protect himself. After a while he found enjoyment in picking on others. It's his only way to converse with others and not ending up in a limbo of loneliness. Speaking to others but not allowing them to like him, he hits two birds with one stone. 

Since the reason of his father's departure has never been resolved, he's not looking for mistakes in his own personality and acting and rather pushes all the blame at others.

JUNG JIYEON / HATE - LOVE / 1997 / STUDENT @ WOOCHUN HIGH SCHOOL / WEB FICTION WRITER. To begin with, Jisoo hates Jiyeon to death. She is his favourite target of bully since she is so highly celebrated by others that it really pisses him of. Not that he is jealous, no, don't misinterpret. He simply doesn't think that she deserves all of the attention - and this is exactly what he takes out on her. He especially loves to pick at her being chubby or eating her hair as he finds these attributes the most disgusting of her. Yet, as soon as fate takes its turn on him, his feelins towards Jiyeon change once their families intertwine with each other and he step by step opens up to her. He eventually falls for her, without her knowing, and ends up in an unrequited love.

 

JUNG CHANWOO / SISTER'S BOYFRIEND / 1995 / STUDENT @ SNU / HEAD I.T OF A BANK. Jisoo gets to know Chanwoo through his sister who starts a relationship with him that gets very serious after a while. He often comes to see the Kim family and is respected and accepted by Jisoo who even sees him as some kind of older brother. Because of Chanwoo Jisoo gets into closer contact with Jiyeon as the Jung and Kim family develop a strong friendship with each other and meet up on several occasions.

 

KIM BOAH / SISTER / 1995 / STUDENT @ SNU / PROFESSOR @ SNU. Boah is a true power girl, a sunshine on top of that and someone who would always speak her honest thoughts about others. She's the caring type, the motherly type and on top of that the strict type. She hates people who treat others unfair and can get really loud during an argument. Jisoo's sister is his idol and he always listens to her advises.

 

KIM HARU / SISTER / 2010 / ATTENDING PRE-SCHOOL / PRODUCT MANAGER @ SAMSUNG. If there is something Jisoo loves the most, it's his little sister Haru. He goes crazy for his little precious and she is also head over heels for her older brother. She gets possessive over him a lot and dislikes girls around him as she fears he could like them better than her. Therefore she can be even hostile towards her sister Boah. Haru has a more reserved and shy personality.

 

KIM YEOJIN / MOTHER / 1978 / CLEANER / RETIRED. The reason her children had to take over the household. Yeojin is a very lively person... but unfortunately she's extremely emotional and clumsy. She quickly forgets about things and ends up running around like some confused, headless chicken. Yeojin is a good - hearted person and she suffers a lot being a single - mom. Jisoo's mother often struggles to cope with life.

PARK CHORONG. Chorong knows Jisoo just because she knows him being a complete jerk - especially towards her best friend. She hates him with a passion deep in her heart but stays quiet and calm on the outside. She tries to cheer Jiyeon up every time the evil bully takes another opportunity to make her feel bad. Chorong isn't interested in dating until she gets in further contact with Jisoo thanks to Jiyeon and at the beginning is more physically interested in Jisoo which makes her step by step fall in love with him with every step he takes closer towards Jiyeon.

PERSONALITY. Dear authornim, since this character is yours, I guess you know the best about Chorong and I don't need to further explain about her ;)

THE PATH TO LOVE IS HARD TO FOLLOW. When Chorong set step in the new classroom when the first year of High School started, she thought that the following three years would be memorable even if it would get hard. But she never expected how hard it would get. From the first second Kim Jisoo made sure that life would be no piece of cake - for her best friend. Chorong started to hate Jisoo with such a passion that she several times silently declared him war and tried to kick him off his No. 1 seat on the school ranking. She nonetheless never achieved her goal and got even more mad at him.

But after starting to hate someone, how can a person fall for the hatred object? Well, hate and love are connected to each  other since both feelings are extremes that go along hand in hand. Especially when the hormones start to go crazy. Jisoo made Chorong's heart flutter when she watched him at sports clubs activities and noticed how good he could look once he was drenched in sweat, having an adictive grin on his lips when he was winning.

Though, being attracted to him physically, Chorong refused to fall for Jisoo until the point when Jisoo's and Jiyeon's families started to get involved with each other once their siblings started dating. After Jiyeon got to know the Kim family and especially how Jisoo was behaving around his family, she started blackmailing him with the secret about his two faced personality and forced him to help Chorong out with her designer career by modeling for her because of his almost perfect proportions as a male model.

INTERACTIONS. The thing I want to see the most is how Chorong is torn between her best friend and her crush once she finds out about Jisoo's feelins for Jiyeon as they become more and more obvious to Chorong. I'd love to see how she more and more gets sad about him not recognising her at all and acting completely indifferent towards her until the point where she confesses to him in despair and anger about his ignorance. This should be some shock for our Jisoo, hehe. Plus, I'd like to have some scenes in which Jiyeon and Chorong get to know Haru and Boah (Haru being hostile of course while Boah befriends the two girls quickly). It could be interesting if Chorong tells Boah about her feelings for Jisoo while Boah knows about Jisoo liking Jiyeon. I see the chaos coming, hahaha.

"WHY DID YOU AGREE TO TELL US YOUR STORY BACK IN 2015?"
ㅡ "You asked me, that's why. ...and because my wife told me to."

"SO, WHAT'S THE HAPPIEST MOMENT FOR YOU IN 2015 THAT YOU COULD THINK OF?"
ㅡ "I'm not quite sure. While you're an adolescent you consider a lot of things as happy and bad... then you grow up and see all the other things around it and then you overthink your feelings from back then. I'd say there were enough of happy moments I didn't expect."

"HOW ABOUT THE BAD ONE?"
ㅡ "Meeting that brat Jung Jiyeon was by far the worst thing that could have happened to me. Even though I don't know which happy moment I can pick from the past, I know for sure what was the worst. This woman only brought heartbreak and pain to me!"

"IS THERE ANYTHING THAT YOU MISS DURING THOSE TIMES?"
ㅡ "Hmm... I miss how Haru used to be so sweet and innocent back then. She had grown up into someone like Jiyeon. I knew I shouldn't have her spent so much time with her. Boah and Chanwoo should have taken better care of her...don't ask me how they will raise their children to some decent adults."

"ANYTHING YOU REGRET DOING BACK IN 2015?"
ㅡ "That model thing. It haunted me even during my time in Harvard. After you get into it there is no way back anymore. How many Harvard graduates work as models instead of running companies?"

"SO, DO YOU THINK YOU'VE LIVED A HAPPY LIFE?"
ㅡ "In total...yes. I got myself a wife and children - and that after being a total jerk. I think I did everything right."
