Hanbin's scandal (opinion piece)

While everyone on the internet is fighting over if he did drugs or not and whether a YG ban should be happening, I'm thinking to myself 'Hanbin is waaay to young to be caught up in drugs.'

It doesn't take a genius to figure out that pressure to write songs may have driven him this point. Obviously, with all the dating bans and other bans in place idols need inspiration from other things. Hanbin did drugs. Still, I don't know if condeming him is right. He needs help. No one mentioned him being addicted but drugs do have that property. If he has been taking them for a while he probably is addicted. I hope he gets the help he needs. Right now a witch hunt is unnecessary. He is too young to loose himself to drugs. He's 22. He's got his whole life in front of him. Can't help think kicking him out of iKon and YG may leave him relying on toxic substances to drown his sorrows.

I'm actually mad at YG for encouraging drug use. I say 'encouraging' because how else is a young man meant to get his hands on illegal substances without the knowledge of his CCTV company? This also makes me wonder who else is doing drugs in YG. The entertainers in YG are so young. It's so sad to see things like this happening.

That being said, I won't delete my Hanbin fics. He might be a criminal in the face of the law but he didn't harm someone else, he's harming himself though and I hope he's got people looking out for him.

From what I've seen, he tried to purchase drugs in 2016, which is 3 years ago. Honestly, this happened to Bom. They brought something up from the past and that gave many fans reasons to condemn her. Now the same thing is happening to Hanbin. It's a cycle that's going to continue if YG continues to let this happen. He doesn't stand up for them, he let's it simmer before he decides to do something and just makes it worse.

Idols are human, they make mistakes. The sooner certain people and fans realize that, the better idols can live with their lives. They shouldn't have to live in fear or in contempt because of something that can get them belittled and hated. It isn't fair to them. Bom needed medication for her ADD, while Hanbin made a mistake. Many other idols have made the same mistakes, so have other non-idols. We're human, what more do they want?

He’s not a criminal. He asked to buy and then got scared out. YG did him dirty. Totally love how YG removed him ASAP from his group picture on the website but seungri is still there with the rest of Big Bang.
